When others get excessively hot, this one is simply warm. Tested on large file copies, it doesn't stutter in speed. I bought 3 together and only when I connected them to my pc/mac did I realize that they are NOT USB 3.0 but 2.0, of course my mistake because even their title says it. But since I will be storing files that I won't often change, then the downside is small. Just with a few more bucks you can get USB 3.0. But overall, I am very satisfied with them.
