Description

Duro Glass

The steel water heater undergoes chemical processing which, combined with the special enameling method using vacuum technology, achieves perfect mechanical adhesion. Then the special glass-based enameling (DURO GLASS), the result of long-term research and testing by ELCO, is baked together with the steel at 860°C, achieving perfect thermochemical adhesion. Thus, the glass faithfully follows the contractions and expansions of the metal, having the same elasticity limits as it.

Result: The water heater is fully protected from rust.

Magnesium Anodes

The exceptionally large magnesium anode of the ELCO DURO GLASS water heaters, with a total quantity multiple times the usual and double that dictated by standards, ensures complete protection of the water heater from electrolysis.

Thermoelectric Safety

ELCO DURO GLASS water heaters are equipped with not only a safety thermostat but also a special thermoelectric fuse, providing double protection against overheating.

Safety Valve

The special safety valve of ELCO DURO GLASS water heaters completely protects the boiler from overpressure.

Polyurethane Insulation

The enhanced insulation of ecological polyurethane with a thickness of at least 25mm & a density of 40krg/m3, injected using a special method applied by ELCO, covers every point of the water heater with absolute precision.

Result: Fewer thermal losses to the environment, saving energy, while the water remains hot for a longer time.

Dual Energy

The dual energy (boiler) ELCO DURO GLASS water heaters feature a large surface enamelled steel heat exchanger in a spiral shape (serpentine). This ensures better performance of the device and its protection from corrosion, offering "free" hot water all year round, as it connects to the radiator and solar collectors.

Capacity

Based on the capacity in liters, it can meet all the needs of a small family of 3 people and the water heats up almost within an hour.

Installation

It can be mounted vertically on a wall. Vertical installation provides easier maintenance, but care is needed when installing the base on the wall.

Water Heater VS Electric Boiler

The water heater operates with electric energy, where the resistance inside the water heater is heated and thus the water is warmed.

On the other hand, the electric boiler, in addition to heating the water through electric energy, has an internal exchanger (coil) with the ability to connect to the central heating system, to assist in the production of hot water. This reduces the use of electric energy.

This means that once connected, the hot water produced by, for example, the oil boiler, heats not only the radiators but also the water in the water heater, thereby promoting cost savings during the winter months.

    STAY AWAY!!!

I have tried to heat the water for 2 hours, and nothing has changed at all. It doesn't even last for 1 person. It doesn't hold for even 15 minutes!

The information they provide is not true, and it's a shame for a company that supposedly has a good reputation in the industry to sell such a poor quality product like this.

If they don't replace it with something that works, I will file a complaint and take legal action.

For those of you who haven't bought it yet, don't even think about it, unless you have money to waste on garbage...

Installation a few days ago as a water heater very good, we are expecting to test it as a boiler with the radiators.
Update: 1-3-22 perfect as a boiler with the radiators. Compared to the previous one (Pyramis), its performance is day and night. We made significant savings on electricity this year as we always had hot water at a satisfactory temperature compared to the old one where we had to turn on the electricity for assistance. Get it with closed eyes and don't expect the thermometer to rise to have hot water

I bought the product a month ago.

The product is as described, functional, without any problem (so far).

This review is about the placement: Floor

I bought it in 2000, it provided hot water from the central heating system (with a calorimeter) or electric power in 15 minutes and kept the water hot for a long time. Very satisfied, no problems even though the tap water is very hard and has a lot of minerals (I live in Epivates) and with many pressure adjustments, sometimes it reaches 7 atmospheres. Unfortunately, it stopped working over time and now I am concerned about replacing it due to the reviews I read... I note that the contractor installed this model in 24 apartments in our complex, one or two stopped working before me and after at least 13 years of use. Generally, all the old models seem to withstand unlike these gas heaters that are being produced now

The temperature display of the watch does not work. It also seems to be of very cheap construction.
The watch was replaced and still the same issue.
Finally, I realized that if you completely remove the watch and put your finger in the hole, the casing is not warm at all, so the watch does not receive heat from anywhere. Otherwise, it works.
I contacted both the local merchant and elco and received no support. Complete indifference from the company.
I do not recommend it. Fake

After drilling the old water heater (exactly the same model), I decided to get the same one. Unfortunately, after installation, I realized that the water was not heating enough, even though the indicator showed 65 and the thermostat was closed. To my surprise, I found out that the thermostat was faulty in the new water heater and was showing 20 degrees lower! Besides that, even now I find that the water barely reaches enough for two people. Another disadvantage is that the manufacturer now puts a single 10 bar valve, and when the water heater starts heating, it leaks. The only solution was to connect a rubber hose to the valve that leads to the drain (fortunately, the drain of the washing machine is right below). With the old double valve, there was no issue, but I can't install it because I will lose the warranty.

We recently installed this due to our old boiler leaking after 15 years. Compared to the old one, this one takes a long time to heat up the water, meaning it takes an hour for the thermostat to reach the middle temperature. The water doesn't stay hot, so by the evening, the needle will have dropped. These are the two negatives, but other than that, as a water heater, it is the worst. However, you get what you pay for, and I don't know if it will last over time. Unfortunately, it doesn't provide enough water even for one person if you use it as a water heater, even in the summer and hot weather. It's the worst, unfortunately

I have had it for 11 years now.
In the first 10 years, it didn't ask for anything, like a thermostat, but it started showing signs of "wear and tear". It reached a point where it took 35-40 minutes to properly heat water for one person.
In the 11th year, we noticed that it was leaking a little rust from the valve and started dripping slightly.
I don't know if we had serviced it in between if it would have lasted longer, but it proved to be "reliable" for its price.

After 25 years, I decided to change my water heater. The old one had a hole and provided hot water literally within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the one I bought now takes at least 20 minutes to get lukewarm water (in early November when the tap water is not frozen). It consumes 3.7 kilowatts per 80 liters, I don't care if it's considered low consumption. If I have to wait half an hour to take a bath. Obviously, the resistance is weak. Unfortunately, even when it reaches the thermostat temperature (65 degrees), it doesn't keep the hot water for a long time. For example, if I leave it open for a long time with hot water in the afternoon, by 7 in the morning, the water had already turned cold. I regretted it so much!

Quite good. If it heated up faster and kept the water hot for longer, it would be perfect.
