Years in the game don't need recommendations. You hear, you speak clearly. Of course, the leather is a bit of a problem as it wears out over time, just like the older H5s I had. I don't give 5 for this reason, but also for the price. They are headphones. Such a high cost is not justified for me and for no brand.
I like the materials used to make the headset.
It’s not to warm
Basically it does what it needs to do but :
I got the remark I’m causing an echo in voice chat. People have to go to their audio settings and change it so it becomes bearable to be with me in party or voice chat.
Wearing glasses and this headset together is not an easy thing to do. It hurts and I start feeling it after 30 to 40 mins.
The build quality of the headphones is very good. They are comfortable, and the sound quality is excellent. However, the microphone is very bad. It picks up audio from the headphones and reproduces it in any voice chat you are in. For headphones at this price, this problem should not exist under any circumstances. Especially when they advertise the microphone's noise-canceling capabilities as excellent. Its noise isolation is so poor that it makes participating in voice chat with more than two people impossible. It is not worth the money at all.
For their price, the quality is very good so far, the only issue I have is that when I am on a call and watching a video at the same time, it can be heard by the other people on the call, but it’s probably due to the fact that they are with a jack and not USB.
First, expensive headphones and they turned out to be DIAMONDS! I had heard enough, so I thought the world knows something and I got them too, and they are AMAZING! I put on the headphones and it's like I'm inside the music! For gaming situations, check out other reviews because I don't play any demanding games!
The headphones for me are perfect, I have them for about a year. At first, they were weak and had static, but it was because of the terrible sound card of the motherboard that didn't provide the necessary power, I suppose because it requires a lot. As soon as I plugged in the USB sound card, Sound Blaster Play 4, I think the sound became much louder and the microphone cleared up. Also, with the bass function and the music setting in Dolby Atmos, I really like them for music. When I use a custom profile with sound equalization, I can hear the footsteps of my teammates in MW2 much better
I have had them for 2 months. I bought them mainly for gaming. For this purpose, I believe they are very good!
They seem very sturdy and have a premium build. They look beautiful.
Very good sound isolation and fit on the head and ears.
The microphone is decent. No one has any complaints about how they hear me.
For gaming, especially FPS, you can perceive the sound direction very well and easily.
For music, I can't say that I was thrilled with the sound quality and the mediocre bass.
As headphones, they are very nice but after 2 to 3 years of use, the microphone broke and when I bought a new one specifically for this model, they didn't work. I tried everything and the problem couldn't be fixed
Well, after a lot of searching for wired over-ear headphones, I ended up with the hyperx cloud ii for 80€ (they're great and they have the USB sound for better audio than the motherboard) due to availability (I wanted the hyperx alpha but the price was over 120€ and not the alpha s which also has USB sound, but they are comparable to headphones). So, I bought the cloud ii, went home, tried them out, they're great, and as I was browsing on my PC again for headphones, haha, I saw the alpha on Stackhouse plaisio for 40€ without a microphone and 3.5mm cable (I had the cable), they were practically new...so I told my mom to get in the car and hurry to get them...I bought them again, tried them at home, everything is good (the alpha is a bit clearer and more comfortable on my head as always). After trying out my headphones, reading comments made me want something more in terms of volume and quality, so I started looking for a sound card...Now I'm stuck because I don't have full knowledge about kHz and dB...and I thought, should I get something worse than what I have or take a risk...(for something cheap) I was torn between G1, Play 3, and Play 4. I ended up getting the Play 4 and luckily (I don't have an opinion on the other two). Guys, almost half the volume and the (quality is relative and not easily determined, but it became clearer in my ears) and the bass is much stronger. I don't have an image of the creative software, I didn't look it up again or read anything about it. Also, I should mention that it has a type C connection and comes with an adapter for classic USB. As for the mobile phone with a type C connection, I have a Samsung Galaxy M52 5G, the quality is perfect, with the volume at 1:4. Bought it for 25€. That's all from me, I hope I helped.
I compare them directly out of the box with various music tracks with the Cloud 2, which I also have, and the difference between them is in the cleaner sound compared to the Cloud 2. It has a bit more bass that covers the other frequencies in the midrange, and it also has detachable cables. Whoever wants can adjust them according to their custom EQ settings. They have sufficient volume. Unfortunately, the microphone is worse. It has an echo in game/party chat, meaning it picks up other voices from the speakers and transfers them to the microphone due to its high sensitivity out of the box. This is a known issue for this model. Anyone interested can read about it on Reddit. Generally, for up to 70 euros, it is better to get the Cooler Master MH752, which is more comfortable and has the best microphone in its category. Also, I would like to inform you that the company has been sold to HP, where many people have noticed various negative changes in the same products.
Coming from Cloud 1, Cloud 2, I have had them for over 3-4 years. They are amazing headphones, with sturdy quality and incredible sound, both for gaming and music. The microphone does an excellent job and doesn't let surrounding sounds enter the conversation. You sound clear and loud. My whole group uses the same ones and has no complaints about the headphones except for the cushions.
(Negatives)
The leather cushions, after 2 years and many hours of use, start to wear out significantly, resulting in black residue when you take them off. Recently, most of us replaced them with replacements. The microphone sponge also wears out over time, but all of these can be replaced at minimal cost.
In summary, for the 89-90 euros I paid back then, they have more than justified their price and still have a long time before needing to be replaced. When the time comes, I will definitely go for another HyperX purchase... maybe even the same model again!
The volume often drops in one ear (alternating) even after many months of use because the volume adjuster is garbage. Overall, quite disappointing (former owner of cloud stinger) because the sound quality slightly improved for a 2-3 times higher price, the microphone is decent, but the comfort and quality are worse.
Change from corsair void pro. For about the same money, you get a higher quality headset with a metal construction and leather (not fabric) cushions... Prefer it. The microphone AND the connector of this one are detachable, and the cable is quite long (should be 2m)
Well, I got the headphones from a well-known store for 60 euros. Regarding the money I spent on them, I have the following to say:
1. They have a very good sound, both in terms of quality and volume. I can't listen to them at full volume for more than 2-3 minutes.
2. I have tried them on both a PS4 Pro and a PC, and the sound is amazing in both devices, both in terms of volume and quality. The bass is great for headphones.
3. The quality is excellent, with an aluminum frame and memory foam.
4. In terms of comfort, after 2-3 hours they start to become uncomfortable. They don't hurt my ears or head like some cheap ones I had before, but they start to bother me and require a 10-15 minute break.
For headphones that cost 60 euros, they are great and worth it. Only time will tell how long they will last.
Very good build quality and very comfortable for long-term use. In FPS games, the accuracy of sound direction (footsteps, gunshots) is excellent. In music, it lacks a bit in bass, but it can be improved through Windows (sound panel, changing the frequency range). Overall, the sound has depth and it feels like having two speakers half a meter away from your ears.
Amazing purchase, especially for the money they make. Not just vfm but much superior. Very good sound quality, the detachable Jack on the headphones adds lifespan to the product while not being as tiring on the head as the cloud 2s I had before.
5 stars because I am a fan of good sound. I strictly do not like cheap things, I only buy something cheap when it's necessary. They have a strong and distinct bass, as well as clear highs and mids. The review is based on one day of use with PS4 games such as GTA San Andreas, GTA V, Fortnite, and Nintendo Switch. I vote yes for music listening. I tried the song "Dancing Nowhere" by Stacey Q. When I heard a specific set of sounds in that song, I heard them crystal clear, simply wow. Guys, the bass of the HyperX Cloud Alpha is real and intense, you can hear a strong bass and I emphasize that it's clear. I recommend them for both music and gaming. I tested them by listening to the song I mentioned because it has some difficult sound parts that I haven't heard clearly from all the speakers I've tried, and I can say that the Cloud Alpha headphones are suitable for music and games. Keep in mind that I compared them overall with the amazing Marshall Major IV and I must say bravo to the Cloud Alpha. Guys, I genuinely enjoyed buying them, from my experience with hi-fi headphones and speakers, I vote that they are worth their money easily, another successful purchase. Bravo for their sound, simply bravo, they are remarkable. Update: Guys, I have been listening to music from the Nintendo Switch YouTube for half an hour now and it has a balanced sound. The bass is of very good quality and it's something I love. The highs are calm, grounded, and distinct. You won't hear exaggerated frequencies, in other words, you won't get tired, you will hear clean bass and a decent overall volume of the headphones. Guys, I listened to some songs from the Switch and I concluded that those who spend as much money as it costs should buy them. I have been very happy with my purchase and not only do I think they are worth it, they are simply worth it without any other sauces. You already bought them, you just haven't realized it.
Well, I bought the headset for 65 euros (now as I'm writing it has dropped to 60 euros).
Guys, don't think about it, buy it with your eyes closed.. it's hard to find something better for up to 100 euros..
In summary:
- crystal clear sound, infinite detail, powerful bass,
- the microphone, according to those who hear me from it, is amazing and very clear.
- I can't find words to describe the build quality, it's so sturdy (I expect some normal wear on the ear cushions in a year or two of almost daily use, but I consider that completely normal since they are made of soft materials for comfort).
- incredibly comfortable, cable with the right length and very well stitched all around.
- detachable microphone and detachable cable for the jack
In terms of sound, it is crystal clear. Their build quality is truly unbeatable. After hours of use, they continue to be comfortable on the head. After 2 and a half years of use, the ear cushions have worn out a bit, but personally, it doesn't bother me. If you are torn between these and the Kraken, go for the Clouds without hesitation
A decent vfm headset with very good sound that is natural with a proper sound card or even with one of the various software available can become 7.1 with better performance than fake "gaming 7.1".
Very comfortable, nice fit, long cable.
I can't find any disadvantage.
Recommended
I have had them for almost a year and within that time, the ear cushions of the headphones broke, which is unacceptable for their price.
If you search for spare parts in Greece, firstly you won't find any from HyperX because they are not interested in selling them separately, and if you find from other companies that make them, you will see astronomical prices like 25 euros, which is unacceptable to pay 35% of the price for spare parts within a year.
So the only way is eBay where you can find them for around 8-10 euros.
It's not worth going through all this trouble for a bad product over time. It's better to find others that the manufacturer makes with better quality and provides spare parts.
To answer additional questions:
1. Do you sweat a lot? Is the room they are in very hot? No, I don't, and I have the air conditioner on 24/7 all summer. Anyone who enters my room always comments on how cold it is and how I can handle it.
2. Did they get direct sunlight? No, never.
3. Did you leave them on a warm surface like on top of the computer, for example? No, never.
4. Were they used by children or were they heavily used? Only I used them, with great care, only at my desk
I bought these specific ones for 65 euros. The transition was from a Marshall Major III headset. The two have nothing to do with each other, but I took the trouble to mention the Marshall for the reason that some say their bass is not good. So, here it is:
Positives:
1) Excellent sound isolation and the shape of the cushions is oval, just like the shape of the ears.
2) Excellent construction of both the headphones and the cable and microphone.
3) Their bass is rich (now, of course, if you try to compare it to a 150+€ one, you understand that there is no comparison).
4) The microphone provides clear sound and is detachable, which is very convenient.
5) The headphones are perfect for people who play FPS games and want to hear the opponents' footsteps accurately.
Negatives:
1) I would like it to have a separate USB cable and extra drivers.
2) In addition to the above, if you have a sound card, these headphones will enhance the sound and are equivalent to headphones worth 100+€.
3) I don't mind that the microphone and audio controls are on the cable, but I understand those who would prefer them on the headphones.
Now, regarding their durability over time, I will come back later in case of any damage and the HyperX service, which many say is one of the best.
Finally, in 2021, I would recommend these headphones even for people who want to spend 40 euros because they don't have much money, but also for people who will spend a lot of money just for the brand name (aka Razer) to go for this headset.
As you may have heard, HyperX has achieved a high-quality headset compared to other companies, both for gaming and music lovers. And I must admit that out of all the headsets I've worn, these are the only gaming-type headphones that I would be willing to use. From the moment you hold them in your hands, you immediately notice the high-quality sturdy construction supported by the company's dual 50mm drivers. The company's logo has a metallic coating, excellent plastic surrounds the pads, and there's metal again in the clip connecting the top part, which is rare even in more expensive headsets. The support frame is highly flexible and doesn't put any pressure on the ears. And this is important for me because half of the on-ear headphones I've tried felt like iron clamps on my head. The earpads may not be eye-catching, but they are pleasant to the touch and also particularly comfortable due to their simple material.
Now, onto the main course. Sound.
Coming from other sets like Audio Technica, I can say that their sound approaches the quality of audiophile headphones. It doesn't quite reach it... but they still offer value for money, especially if you manage to get them on sale. The main issue I have with these headphones is the bass. I would say it "muddies" the sound in the low frequencies. Playing around with an equalizer, of course, can help reduce these issues. However, when I plugged them into a basic €20 soundblaster... that's when I saw the true colors of this headset. It needs that little extra power through the dac/amp to shine, so that the weaknesses in the sound frequencies can be balanced. You can clearly play decently and hear your music. But for me, it's necessary.
Something important to mention: When you connect their microphone to the PC, you will notice a slight echo in the background of the headphones. This is static noise from your PC's motherboard. I tried various methods to solve this problem, but in the end, it was only when I plugged the microphone into an external sound card that I was saved from this headache.
Other than that, the microphone itself is great and detachable, as is the 3.5mm cable of the headphones. The set comes with a thin leatherette case, an extender cord that splits into audio and microphone, and a card with congratulations and thanks from the company.
In short, there are VERY FEW competitors that offer the same quality experience as HyperX in this price range. You just need to "sweat" a little at the beginning to perfect these little angels.
I have them since 2018, daily, I would even say 14 hours on my head. They don't tire. Incredibly clear sound, you don't need crazy bass (it's very balanced), very good microphone, they don't press on your head, height adjustment, overall I would buy them again if they broke. Either these or the ALPHA S, but I haven't looked at the differences! I recommend them! Update: Aug 2023, they still work perfectly.. If I didn't clean them every day during the pandemic, I believe the leather on the ear cushions would have lasted even longer.. but to be honest, I prefer the cushions like this! with the softest fabric underneath!
After 5 years with the HyperX Cloud I and after the microphone and left headphone broke, I decided to stick with the same company and change the model.
Here is the review for the Cloud I:
https://www.skroutz.gr/s/17026906/HyperX-Cloud.html?from=account_notifications_price_drop#reviews
Just like the previous ones, these headphones have very good sound isolation. The leather is very good, I think it's better compared to the Cloud I. The microphone is superior and much clearer. The bass is deeper and nicer. Just like the previous ones, I connected them to a Sound Blaster Z. Opening the SBX Studio makes you feel like you bought much more expensive headphones. I use SBX for all functions except CS GO.
As for CS GO, when I tried them in Default mode, I felt like I was in space. The sounds were strange, with a lot of depth, and the footsteps sounded average. I was quite concerned, but after searching a bit on the internet, I found a solution and created a CS GO profile in the Equalizer, and now everything is perfect.
One of the negatives, and the only one, is that after some time, you need to rest your head, something that didn't happen with the Cloud I. Also, for the first time, I feel the need to cool my ears from the leather, which is why I deduct 1 star.
*I gave them to my father since he is an old-school electronics guy. He told me he fixed them, but he doesn't know if the microphone works. If they work properly, they will be a gift for my little nephew.
Good evening, as a user of this product, I have the following to report:
As a "Gamer" who is also involved in other things besides gaming, such as a professional editor, etc... the headphones are great. They work well in FPS games, in games like CS:GO, the footsteps sound very clear and overall the sound quality is very good. They have good noise reduction, a pleasant feeling on the ears, and are very lightweight when worn. As for the microphone, I don't have much to say since I don't need it, but from what I heard briefly, it is quite good. Overall, I don't have much else to say, except that the bass is a bit low.
Today I received from a well-known chain for 64 euros..
For their price, they are perfect!
More specifically:
Positives:
* They come in a very nice packaging with a protective case.
* They already have a splitter cable included.
* Sturdy construction.
* Amazing detachable microphone, as well as the cable, which is convenient for hiding cables and maintaining aesthetics.
* Clear sound.
* Quality leather ear cushions.
Negatives:
* It doesn't have anything to cover the holes to prevent dust from getting in.
* Average bass without vibration.
* It doesn't have a USB function, which is widely used nowadays.
* It becomes tiring after prolonged gaming, and even though the cushions are of good quality, they make your ears warm in the summer.
Nevertheless, I want to say that at this price, it is worth it because if something breaks, there are spare parts available, so you don't have to replace the entire headset. And of course, it is a branded product, unlike the others I had before that didn't have any representation. Time will tell. I will come back with a review after some time.
I have had them for about 1 month and overall I am satisfied. Excellent sound, powerful bass, comfort even after prolonged use. HOWEVER, this volume wheel it has for sound intensity is unacceptable for a headset of this category. From the 3rd week of use, it started having a problem when I turn up the volume to the maximum, it gives more intensity on the right side and I have to turn it down a bit to balance it, and I'm afraid this will only worsen in the future, we'll see...
[11/24/2022]
2 years later, with daily use, they still work fine. The issue with the wheel remains, but now when I have the volume at maximum, it gives balanced sound on both sides, if I turn it down a bit, it loses balance and gives more sound on the right side. Also, I had to replace the leather cushions 2 months ago because they started to wear out, and I replaced them with some fabric ones I found online.
