Fill your room with vibrant sound from the GigaWorks T40 Series II speakers, the enhanced model of the award-winning GigaWorks T40.
The new GigaWorks T40 Series II takes audio enjoyment to the next level of acoustic fidelity. There is no need for a physical subwoofer, as the audiophile three-driver Midrange-Tweeter-Midrange (MTM) configuration features BasXPort™ technology - providing outstanding dynamics with rich extended bass. While the silk dome tweeter with dual woven glass fiber drivers delivers crystal-clear highs with full-range sound, the entire system also offers enhanced output power of 16 W RMS per satellite.
With a new refreshing design and style, the GigaWorks T40 Series II is set to be a perfect addition to any living room or desktop.
Each acoustically refined satellite speaker features an expressive tweeter and a high-performance midrange driver for recreating a realistic live music experience at home or in the studio.
An exclusive high-frequency driver that offers you low distortion and wide dispersion for all the high notes of your music.
These mid-range drivers can withstand high levels of temperature and humidity without affecting the damping properties.
The BasXPort is acoustically designed to enhance the lower frequency range by effectively channeling sound waves from the inner chamber to the soundstage. This allows the speaker to deliver a more pronounced midrange for a warmer, more natural playback.
Get the bass, treble, and volume you want with easy controls. For private listening, simply plug in your headphones.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
I have had them since 2009 and they work many hours a day since then... Respect to Creative for this little speaker, it has made me proud.
I bought them for 80€ a few years ago. Disappointment from the very first moment mainly due to the incredible distortion! A few days ago they broke (I expected that). I went and got the Edifier R1280T for 100€, and they are like night and day. If you are going to spend 100€, definitely avoid them!
Personally, I am completely satisfied with my purchase at 79.99 on sale for a sealed product from a well-known chain (yesterday).
- If someone wants the computer speakers to be thin and tall so that they take up minimal space, this is the only way to go.
- If you want to listen to music or watch movies with the best possible sound quality at such a low price, they have the best value for money.
- If you do the job with 1-5 watts, these have 16W RMS per channel.
For any other requirements, look for other solutions
I have them for about 6 months, the build quality is excellent, there is great attention to detail in the design, resulting in a feeling that you have something expensive. That being said, the sound overall is pretty good, however, in some songs with heavy bass (e.g. Tiesto's "Traffic" and similar ones), the sound gets distorted quite a bit, and there is also distortion in very high frequencies. Therefore, they are amazing speakers for movies, games, and music, but when the sound is at maximum, problems arise... One solution that improved the problems overall is a sound card (personally, I bought the Sound Blaster G6), which turned the sound into crystal. So, these speakers along with the sound card are the ultimate audio experience!
For gaming use there is no problem. If you go to listen to music, all the bad things start. Excessive bass with continuous "thumping", you can't distinguish mid-range, voices, instruments, etc. It's a shame that I spent so much money when you can get something a hundred times better with it. Stay away. Look for something else.
All this even with a sound card. Not even to my enemy.
5 stars straight, you won't regret it, the best in this category and price range, crystal clear sound & sweet loud bass in comfort & without stressing, now for those who prefer fake bass like edifier to make the whole office shake, their right :D
The speakers require a high-quality 3.5mm stereo jack cable,
standby in 13 seconds,
re-activation within 1 second.
I had heard them before in the context (they have some speakers for testing on the shelves) and they had impressed me. I got them for 80 euros on offer at the e-shop (without shipping). Clear and powerful sound, with satisfactory bass. Unfortunately, at a fairly high volume (70% and above), it starts to lose its "clarity". It does have a standby function, if it doesn't reproduce sound for a few minutes (about 10 minutes, without measuring it). From the moment it is in standby, it takes about 3 seconds to activate again. If you find them on offer, why not, grab them.
I kept them for a few years, but when I bought the Logitech Z623, I saw the difference that all the experts mentioned.
In a system with a good sound card, and switching from a 2.1 setup,
I discovered after several tests that the bass was completely unacceptable.
Luckily, the store refunded my money.
They go into standby mode if nothing is heard for a while.
Audio professionals define speakers below 90db to be avoided.
However, everyone is responsible for their own choices.
The best stereo speakers I have ever heard! Even in a large room, with the volume turned up high, they have clear sound and powerful bass. Solid construction without cheap plastic!
It is about 2 midrange and one tweeter at 16W each speaker. They do not have a speaker intended for low frequencies, so comments about nonexistent bass have probably been made by people who expect to hear the 50&60Hz well from small mid speakers. For the size of the cones, they have decent bass, and for their power, they have a very respectable volume. For some reason, I have noticed that the aux-in has a slightly cleaner and louder sound than the line-in. Ultimately, they are really very good 2.0 speakers with very proper volume, the only time they seemed low volume and playing distorted was at a rooftop party. I have also heard very good comments from people involved in music production (who have had the chance to check the mix on a project) that their mid-high frequencies are spot on.
It's a shame for Creative's name to release such a bad product. The lows are permanently at the same tempo, booming and the highs are so projecting that you either have to completely lower them or place the speakers 2 meters away from the listening position. Coming from many listens with various speakers, sound cards, etc.... Don't get me wrong about my evaluation because the opinion about good sound is also subjective
After some years of use, something went wrong with the controller of the right speaker and nothing is working properly now.
I don't know if this should happen with speakers of this price range.
(Remember that they cost around 110€ and they are 2.0)
Also, without a subwoofer, the bass is non-existent!
I have had them for over 5 years and I have been quite satisfied. If you want them for office use and gaming, they will last you forever! They are not good enough for music because they don't have bass, but the sound is crystal clear.
The speakers are simply perfect. After a lot of searching, I ended up with these high-quality 2.0 speakers. Anyway, they are worth their money.
How can the T40 Series II from the GW series disappoint you? I recently switched from the T20 Series II and I have to say that I didn't expect an even better sound, but they are amazing. Very good bass (of course) and clear mids and highs that don't screech or make noise even at 100% volume. The sound card I'm using is the one from the z97-a mobo from Realtek, which is not that good. Soon I will upgrade my system and get a SupremeFX sound card, where the speakers might reach 100% performance.
Very good sound quality, good and beautiful construction. Average bass but very good for 2.0. It is better for personal use on a computer. The price is a bit steep in my opinion.
Crystal clear deep sound for the size of the speakers. I don't understand why some people say they don't have bass... I'm using them with an Onkyo Wavio Platinum and the sound of my PC has really gone to another dimension.
+Crystal clear sound throughout the spectrum
Incredible highs and lows.
Perfect for music
Build quality
Beautiful (especially without the cover)
-Not as loud
After so many years on the market, they could have been a little cheaper (although for this price, there is definitely nothing better)
I highly recommend them :)
Without having any knowledge about speakers and sound, I had decided to simply get a good pair of big, beautiful, and powerful speakers. After 3 to 4 years of use, I have been satisfied and they haven't caused me any problems. I have only used them with a laptop and a desktop with an integrated sound card on the motherboard. They are a beauty on my desk. At high volumes, almost at maximum, you can notice distortion in the bass, but it is understandable, not to mention that it generally becomes tiring at such high volumes for a long time.
The negative aspect, of course, is the steep price, which should be at least 20-30 euros lower.
Finally, I would like to add that under no circumstances can we easily take them with us.
Excellent sound quality. Without much bass (the subwoofer is integrated into the speaker), but satisfactory. It's not the type of speaker you would use for a party (along with the whole neighborhood).
Also, very compact, it fits on a minimal surface for those who don't have enough space. I would recommend it to those who want quality sound at a reasonable price
I have had it for 2+ years and I am completely satisfied.
Positives:
+ Very good sound quality
+ Very nice appearance
+ Very good build quality
+ Headphone and external source input on the front panel
+ "Bass" and "Treble" controls
Negatives:
- Requires a Subwoofer for deep and powerful bass.
- Does not have a Subwoofer output that adjusts its drive based on the speaker's volume.
Comment 2016: Simply beautiful.. I bought them during Christmas and they are nicely decorated with generally good sound. However, I admit that I expected more for a product with such a price... the only real negative was the accompanying jack cable which is like a Chinese cable worth 1 euro and of course it broke very quickly!
UPDATE comment 2017
I bought them again for the second time, this time for Christmas, and I put them in my desktop in another house. In terms of beauty, they are still incredibly beautiful, and in terms of quality, they have a very clear and powerful sound for 2.0 (they are not for a home party) and this time I don't know if it's a different batch but the jack is gold-plated and of good quality, well done.
Update 2019, I still have them, they still work flawlessly and they are still gems.. what can I say about these headphones..!
Expensive for what they offer, especially if you don't have a very good sound card. With onboard sound cards, don't expect to reach 100% of their performance. They look very nice with or without the front cover, I recommend them for casual use.
