Feed your dog or cat and ensure healthy eating habits. With a capacity of 3.7 liters, your pet will always get the right portion of food on time. The device can be controlled from the app. Notifications about a small amount of food remaining will ensure you never forget to replenish your pet's food. A hidden Power Bank slot allows the device to operate for long periods without being connected to a constant power supply.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
After 1 year of use, it works perfectly - I have it in an open (covered) area for the outdoor kittens
In the first year of use, it worked perfectly. After that, the problems started: When you press the button on the mobile many times, it gets stuck (at least it shows you in the app) and the worst part is that now it dispenses much less grams than it should (I have set it to dispense 10g and it dispenses 3g at a time, sometimes 5g), resulting in not being able to accurately calculate how much your pet is eating. What a shame
Very good, it solves the problem of being able to leave the house for a few days without having to worry about who will feed the pet. It only supports the smaller size of kibble. Anything else will eventually block or strain the mechanism and damage it. So for larger dogs, you have to compromise and give them the smallest size of kibble in multiple doses. The WiFi only supports 2.4 GHz like most IoT devices, so it is recommended to temporarily disable the 5 GHz to set it up correctly. Also, in mesh networks, you need to disable the roaming option for this specific device. The ability to add a power bank to continue feeding during a power outage is excellent, but it has a small compartment that can fit old small cylindrical power banks, not the newer flat ones like a mobile phone. In terms of reliability, it is flawless, it has been tested daily for months. It feeds according to the schedule even if the WiFi is down. You may not receive a notification on the app because it is offline, but the pet will have eaten. Not suitable for uncovered outdoor areas, it gets wet if it rains. The only thing I changed was the USB power adapter and the cable with something more durable and of higher quality. Not that it broke, but the cable was short and very cheaply made.
For the past 5 days, it has been working without any problems and without any disconnections. Even when I unplugged it from the socket and plugged it into another one, it automatically connected to the network and the app (without a power bank). It has no issues with the dry medium food I give to my dog. If it presents any problems, I will come back to update.
After 6 months of use:
The following comments still apply, but:
The kibbles (probably because they are large?) have now damaged it and it gets blocked without dispensing food. The solution I have is 1) I cut the silicone bands on the rotating wheel that dispenses the kibbles (less resistance, therefore less effort from the machine) and 2) I put very little food, meaning I replenish it every day, so that the weight of the kibble does not strain the mechanism and cause it to get blocked.
I doubt it will last a year of operation.
Pros:
1. You can adjust the number of feedings and the frequency as you wish (unlike others, which have up to 4 feedings per day).
2. The app sends you a notification for each feeding, confirming that everything went well, and also notifies you when the food inside is running out.
3. It makes a beep sound, which although not very loud, is enough for the dog to know that the sound means food is being dispensed and it runs to eat.
4. Good value for money.
Cons:
1. The app is not reliable. It has given me a notification that the feeding was not successful, even though it dispensed food.
2. The machine frequently loses connection to WiFi. It does dispense food at the scheduled time, but I do not receive a notification that the pet has been fed. So, as I have a dog with low sugar levels that needs to eat every 4 hours, I do not have confidence whether it dispensed food or not (the notifications show nothing, since it is offline).
The solution to this is to unplug it and plug it back in to reconnect.
3. Each portion may be 10g, but 2-3 times that I measured it (setting it to dispense double portions), it was 17-18g. Sometimes 20g. Of course, it can never dispense exactly, because all kibbles (and brands) have different sizes/weights.
4. Detail (but it was a headache at first until I synchronized it), if you have a modem that provides 5GHz (newer, faster modems), you need to connect your mobile/tablet to the 2.4GHz to sync with the feeder, otherwise you will struggle unnecessarily.
5. If you take it on vacation, it is better to reconfigure it from scratch. It may retain the settings... or it may not.
Conclusion: If you use relatively small kibbles (e.g. for a Westie-sized dog), and there is no serious problem if it occasionally doesn't dispense food (note: it has not happened to me... at least not yet) or if the quantity of food each time is almost what you would like (because I weigh how much I feed), it is a good choice in terms of price/quality. Personally, I don't know if I will keep it. I have had it for 3 weeks and I have already exchanged the unit from the store I bought it through Skroutz, and it presents exactly the same "issues" as the previous one (the ones I mentioned in the cons).
I hope this review clarifies whether this product is suitable for you.
I use it with kitten food and it's excellent! The kitten puts its paw underneath and gets extra kibbles from the portion I give her, but at some point it doesn't dispense anymore. I solved it very easily by putting 1 less portion so that the grams come out roughly the same as I was giving her. It has a wifi connectivity indicator and if the food is about to run out, it sends a notification for any problem that may occur.
Flawless device, easy to connect. The negatives are that the portions are in increments of 10gr, the case for the power bank is small, and the cat with the paw can knock a few extra balls than its portion
Solves the problem, it is perfect for small trips, but also for everyday life. No more waking up at 6 in the morning!
