It is made of flexible but very sturdy and high-quality plastic with a reinforced harder shell, without becoming bulky and annoying in use. It has a tight fit on the phone, which I consider positive as in case of impact on a hard surface, it has very good chances of staying in place (it hasn't happened to me yet, of course :)
