I have had it for 3 years now using it with two different vehicles, one at 11kw and one with obc 7.4kw, so I have quite good experience. The charger is generally trouble-free. It connects directly to the car and charges without any issues. It has never tripped the breaker or caused any problems, although 1-2 times per semester my BMW i3 might not charge on the first try and required disconnecting the cable and then reconnecting it. I believe it was an issue with the car and not the charger. On the positive side, its appearance is extremely minimal, and its very small size is also a plus, while the app is user-friendly. I have the long 7m cable and can charge both vehicles regardless of where I park them. A downside for me is the cost, which is quite high (I don't think I would buy the same one again today), as well as the fact that the Wi-Fi connection is a bit unstable, and if it disconnects, it does not reconnect automatically. The distance from the router is marginal, of course, but both the car and the mobile phones connect much more reliably
I bought this charger in February 2022, unfortunately for me, 2 months ago (March 2024) it stopped charging and tripped the circuit breaker. To make a long story short, I tried everything, with an electrician, with the app, with the company I bought it from (EvChange systems), unfortunately the result is that the two years of warranty have passed so I have to throw it away and buy a new one! So, 850 euros down the drain! Choose a more reliable charger.
The product is TERRIBLE!!!! as soon as we installed it. The lid almost hit my child in the head and left it on the ground. Moreover, the installation was done with a separate panel, all specifications and a mechanical seal. Look at the photo and see how fake the clamps are. The panel is brand new with safety features and lightning protection!
I have been sending messages to the wallbox company for a month now and they haven't responded at all. Stay away!!
8 months without any problem. Very useful that it collaborates with the Smart Meter to adjust the charger's power according to the total power demand of the house so as not to exceed the maximum power supply.
Flawless installation (by an electrician), ease of connection and management of the charger through the mobile application. From the application, you can program it (e.g. to charge only at night) and adjust the amps you want it to draw, thus affecting the total KW/h it charges per hour. In my case, I have lowered it to 16A considering that the car charges with 11KW. Finally, you can also adjust the charging cost per KWh from your provider, and therefore have an estimate of how much you were charged. I highly recommend it.
After 6 minutes of charging, it stops. Despite contacting the dealership, I never received a response. Meanwhile, I am unable to charge properly, which limits my mobility.
After 4 months of use, it burned out and couldn't be repaired (as stated by the wallbox company) and the warranty didn't cover it. The purchase was made from a store in Greece (official wallbox reseller) which was very helpful with the damage, but in the end they washed their hands of it. The installation equipment was purchased entirely from this specific store in Greece and was installed by a qualified electrician. I should note that I was charging my Smart car with an internal charger of 4kw, which means that the power never exceeded 4kw during charging (the charger is 7.5kw) and 20A (the charger's maximum is 32A!!). The conclusions are up to you.
Finally, after "many" attempts, the dealership in Spain was forced to send me a new charger through the store where I bought it. After some time, I will come back to see if the burnt charger was actually a manufacturing error.
After 5 months with the new charger, everything seems fine. The app on the phone is good and if you report any problems with it or need any assistance, they immediately contact you either by email or phone (in English).
The charger is very good, I have been using it for 2 months without any problems and the best thing of all is the wallbox application, with all the statistics for charging history. Complete control of each charge, with the option to set the start and stop time of charging, and also very good the option to adjust the charging current from the application.
