  It is safe. At first, it smelled bad but I cleaned them with detergent to make sure and the smell went away after about a week. The glue that comes with them doesn't hold for long. As shown in the picture, I ended up sticking them with adhesive tape. I am very satisfied with the product. It is not beautiful, but the little one would have definitely needed stitches if I hadn't put them on.
