Description

Classic Water Storage Tank

GLASS Water Storage Tank made of cold-rolled steel, 3.0mm thick, with an internal double enamel coating, baked at 860°C according to DIN 4753. The enameling is carried out in proprietary high-tech industrial facilities. The boilers are individually inspected upon exiting the enameling unit, ensuring the excellent quality of the enamel.

Perimeter Heat Exchanger (jacket) made of cold-rolled steel (1.8mm thick) for the operation of the closed circuit, which is required in areas with low temperatures as well as in areas with high concentrations of salts in the water supply network.

Thermal insulation made of expanded ecological high-density polyurethane (>50kg/m3), which minimizes thermal losses, maintaining the temperature of the hot water.

External casing made of marine-grade aluminum alloy, specially designed to resist corrosion.

Cathodic protection with two magnesium anodes for more effective internal protection against corrosion and scale buildup caused by electrolysis reactions.

General tank characteristics

  • Large round flange (5-hole) with smart and innovative design for easy cleaning of limescale, quick replacement of the anode, and immediate access to electrical parts.
  • One-piece gasket made of silicone, non-toxic material, which prevents water contact with the flange, protecting it from electrolysis and corrosion.
  • Electric resistance power 4kW.
  • Automatic, adjustable thermostat with bipolar protection and backup fuse.
  • Protective cover designed to ensure proper ventilation of the electrical section and protection from weather conditions.
  • With cable gland for the watertight passage of the connection cable of the electric resistance.

Apollon Collector

External one-piece frame made of special shipbuilding aluminum alloy, rich in magnesium, specially designed against corrosion.

Robust Construction – Absolute Sealing – High Aesthetics.

It has a surface area of 3m², capable of producing up to 300 liters of hot water.

Strong thermal ecological insulation of pre-compressed rock wool, 60mm thick, coated with black fiberglass, to minimize thermal losses.

Thermal conductivity of rock wool insulation: λ=0.035 W/mK (DIN 56612, measured at 0°C).

Hydroskeleton entirely made of copper pipes

The return and supply pipes (headers) are perforated with outward expansion for the perfect fit of the heat absorption pipes (manifolds) and to avoid pressure drop in the collectors.

Distance between pipes (tube pitch) = 93mm (EN 1652).

Single selective absorber made from selective metal sheet (Sun-Selective, Complete area absorber), with high absorptivity and low emissivity, covering the entire surface of the window as well as the supply and return pipes, increasing the collector's absorption capacity. The welding is performed with state-of-the-art robotic laser technology.

Special safety glass (Tempered) with high permeability and durability, low iron oxide content (extra clear / Low-iron), resistant to adverse weather conditions (e.g., hail, extreme temperature changes).

Insulating glass rubber EPDM with UV protection.

Aluminum profile (Al Mg Si 05), for the application and support of the glass panel. It has special openings to prevent water penetration into the collector for absolute watertightness.

Special plastic supports and sealing of the absorber with the outer casing, specially designed for the ventilation of the collector, with the ability to support a temperature sensor. Special silicone rubber that allows the expansion and contraction of the absorber (contraction-expansion) across the entire temperature range from -40 °C to +200 °C.

Collector attachment points

Four internal M8 threads embedded in the frame, for easy and secure attachment of the collector to the support base.

Dual Energy

It is dual-energy, meaning it has the capability to operate in two ways: with solar energy or with electric energy. This means that inside the water tank there is an electric resistance, so on days with little sunshine due to cloudiness, you can operate your solar water heater with electric energy and always have hot water.

Solar Water Heater Maintenance

Regular maintenance of the solar water heater optimizes the quality, hygiene, and operational performance, while also saving on energy consumption. For the smooth operation of the solar water heater, regular maintenance by a specialized team is required. The necessary actions during the maintenance of the solar water heater are:

  • Checking the level of solar fluids & refilling where necessary.
  • Inspecting and repairing the insulation on the local solar pipes.
  • Inspecting and replacing the magnesium anode to prevent the formation of scale inside the solar water heater.
  • Inspecting and cleaning the electric resistance.

  • The solar panel has been working perfectly since June 2008 until today, 13/5/2004, with a rating of 10 out of 10, receiving a 9. No problems at all these years. Lamia.

This review is about the collector surface: 2.6 m²

The company considers it logical and expected the 2.5+ hours required to heat up to 70+ degrees with electric power. I live in an urban center (Athens) on the 3rd floor. The previous solar water heater (30 years old) had hot water in 30 minutes. I have had this one for less than a month and it has been serviced 3 times under warranty (the first time the heating element was faulty and the next 2 times it simply doesn't heat adequately/fast enough). All electrical checks have been done, 16.5 Ah, and there is no leakage. Absolutely terrible - stay away

Two 160-liter glass solar water heaters were installed in different houses in 2007. Both boilers leaked this year, in 2023, with a difference of about 3 months. Throughout all these years, they worked perfectly without any maintenance, repairs, or cleaning, providing hot water even on winter days with sunlight, and we're talking about the Evros region. I was ready to only replace the boiler because the selective collectors and the base are as if I bought them yesterday. However, your comments about my boilers have raised doubts. Are they really that bad?

The solar water heater NOBEL is perfect, flawless performance! Flawless installation by the company AIRCON. Note that I am on the 2nd floor of a 5-story apartment building, so there are 4 floors above me! I have installed two panels and I have performance even in the winter!

160lt 2.6m triple. Very high quality and very efficient. With the first heat, definitely cover the collector. I have not connected it to electricity, only to the boiler. I cannot yet know about its durability (installation December 22), but I believe that with maintenance and proper installation, not just a pipe and a valve, etc., it will last for many years

I guys, I installed it and it lasted 6 years. It heats up very well, but because I researched it, Nobel has very strong mirrors and the toilet doesn't hold up. It has gone to Bulgaria and it's not like before (before, they lasted for years because the mirrors were not selective and far from double mirrors). Whatever you clean, make sure to look for stainless steel or copper ones

I have had it in my house for 12 years and its performance, even in difficult weather conditions, is extremely satisfactory. I maintain it regularly, approximately every 2 years, and my technician told me that it is in excellent condition internally.

Installation a week ago (20/6/2021). Everything is good so far, plenty of hot water. I have installed 4 square collectors, 1 square more than the normal, and that's why I have partially covered one collector for only 5 months per year. I will come back with a new evaluation.

I have it for a year and a half. In my case, it turned out to be a fake. From spring until October, it has hot water. For the winter, it's terrible. Throughout the winter, I have to turn on the heating element because the water is only warm for one person. Of course, I will call the company that installed it in case there is a problem. I am on the 4th floor, far from the roof, but solar panels with 3 square meters provide hot water for all the lower floors of the apartment building. I will come back after the company's inspection, after disconnecting it electrically and reconnecting my old bathroom water heater because the Nobel one is faulty and poorly insulated.

The solar was installed on 12/27 in Athens. Despite the many clouds and cold of this winter, it performed excellently! Now regarding the quality, I am satisfied. You definitely don't expect it to last over 10 years, but that's pretty much the case for everyone in the market today. Update: today I discovered that in just under 6 years, the boiler has leaked

A good choice in this price range.
    It won't let you down.
I've had it for 3 years now and it works perfectly fine (Athens, 3 floors, pipes up to the roof).
Replaced the terrible solar star and it saved me.

    Update:

In design, construction, and overall detail (!!), this solar panel is top-notch. Although more expensive than some others, its quality justifies the price. The only issue I have had with the Nobel 2009 solar panel is that after about 8 years, the container developed a leak. The cause was a lack of maintenance, specifically salt buildup in the container. The only downside, as far as I know, is that it is now manufactured in Bulgaria.

Awesome solar panel, the patent for the roof base is original with the solar panel essentially supported by four large bolts, so you don't need to create a big "wound" on the roof. The base is easily assembled and the components fit perfectly without any issues. Bravo to Nobel for being a Greek company too!

I am extremely disappointed as I bought 2 water heaters. One never heated the water satisfactorily and despite bringing in 2 plumbers, I was never able to get it to work properly. The other one started leaking after 6 years, one year after the warranty expired.

Very good choice. I was torn between a more famous one and the Nobel.
In the end, it was a good choice, it heats up the water quickly but when it's cloudy, don't fool yourself that it will have hot water.
Also, when it's freezing outside, it doesn't keep the water warm until the afternoon, it cools down quickly, which I consider normal. After all, this will happen for very short periods of time throughout the year.
    Satisfied with my choice

Very good choice and so far completely satisfied after about 5 years of use.
Heats up quickly due to its large collector surface, which is the most important thing for days with little sun.
That's why it's called "solar", because it heats up with sun and not with clouds, as many people think.
No solar heater heats water with clouds!
Also, a plus is that the water cools gradually and not abruptly, like with other water heaters.
After advice from a plumber (I don't know how true it is), "better a solar heater with a 2.6m collector than two smaller ones, because solar heaters with two collectors have losses at the points where the collectors are connected to each other."

Impressions: In the month of February with an external temperature of 8 degrees and sunshine. In the boiler, I deliberately used up all the hot water from the previous day and it produced quite cold water. Until noon, the solar panel reached 55 degrees!
Overall, during the harsh winter, it easily accommodates 2 people showering, as long as you don't constantly use the hot water for hands and face. In milder winters, it provides generously warm water.
