In recent years, the systematic study of football has demonstrated the importance of set pieces regardless of the level and gender of the participants or the tournament they compete in, both for scoring goals and for the final result of the match. Despite their significance, there seems to be a gap in modern literature on football, which we hope this book will cover. Its purpose is to provide a holistic approach to the subject, providing scientific knowledge as well as the theoretical background that every football coach should have regarding set pieces.

An important element is that the book examines both the offensive and defensive function of the team in set pieces, while also emphasizing preparation for the next stage, i.e. offensive or defensive transition. At the same time, the book offers a large number of routines (exercise log) that coaches can incorporate into their training sessions in order to effectively prepare their players in practice. For a better understanding of these routines, the book is accompanied by animations that can be viewed on mobile/tablet by scanning the QR code.
