Perfect Disk, I bought it in 03/2024 and it hasn't had the slightest problem!! The only reason for the 3 stars is its price. I believe that for an SSD these days, the price should be much lower. And consider that I bought it for €267. Now they have raised it even more for no reason. 1/1/2025
For SSDs, only Samsung. Any version, Evo, Pro, etc., by far better drives than any other SSD drive manufacturing company...
I have installed this hard drive in two laptops, a Fujitsu from around 2010 and a Toshiba from 2015. They are not performance computers, but I do daily computing for simple to moderate use. They do their job excellently. I haven't measured performance, nor am I interested in that, but it is really very fast
Reliable and Good price. If you want to have the best storage for your files, then it's a one-way street.
It was installed in a 2017 laptop and replaced an HDD.
The difference is like night and day.. the laptop went from useless to very fast! It opens in 10 seconds!! Before it took 3 working days…
What can I say? Whatever I say is not enough. The SSD FLIES and with RAPID performance mode on even more.
What can we say now about SAMSUNG. I got it because I had already installed the 850 EVO 250 GB on a TOSHIBA SATELLITE laptop 10 years ago. It just flies!!!!
I have had this specific Samsung 870 Evo SSD 250GB 2.5'' SATA III since May 2017 in a Sony Vaio -VGN-NS11M and it still works without any problems.
Guys, the disk is unsuitable! After 3 years with zero usage since it's in a laptop and is only used for Word occasionally (5 times/month), it started to slow down shutting down Windows. I manually shut it down and then it was not recognized! After 2 hours off power, it connected to Windows and I made a backup. It's giving up soon!!
I believe we all know the speeds and quality of such a disk for its category. Reliable, fast, cool-headed, and Samsung.

Laptop that had Windows 7, I installed Windows 10 and with 4GB+ it became brand new. Before, it used to shut down due to temperature and struggling. No comparison to the previous laptop. Windows load immediately, no freezing. Because I am an impatient person, I bought it from Skroutz for an extra €15 compared to a well-known Chinese website. It doesn't matter, it's worth it for anyone who is eager.
The Samsung disks are a reliable choice. I upgraded from an 860 EVO 500GB to this one because the capacity of the previous one was not enough for me.
Upgrading laptop from a 1 TB mechanical disk to Samsung 870 SSD. Response speed is almost 10 times faster compared to the old HDD disk. Restart and shutdown time is lightning fast and opening difficult applications quickly. The transition to the new data usage of the laptop is amazing, and everything opens and responds perfectly. *The only thing left is durability over time and reliability. It gets 99/100 in speed.

I will not even bother to evaluate it and I just put the stars because I had to.
NVMe drives are faster.
Just compare the speeds and you will see for yourselves. The difference is not small, it is huge.
The prices are negligible.
The only reason to go for SATA is either because you made a mistake or because you filled all the NVMe slots or generally because you have an old motherboard that does not support it.
There may be something else that I may not know.
In this case, however, it might still not be worth it and it would be better to go for an HDD.
HDDs are more reliable in case of damage due to their construction. They are like a disk and needle. Like a turntable.
That's why they are so slow. But if they get damaged, you are very likely to be able to recover your files.
SSDs are chips that if they burn out, you throw them in the trash and that's it, so for those of you who have important files, besides backing up, always keep one on a hard HDD.
So with all this, I think that SATA drives are just surplus for me at least.

Excellent, reliable, managed to revive a 10-year-old computer without any problems. For everyday users, there are no limitations to its capabilities. For more demanding users, the machine it will be installed on definitely plays a role. In any case, it is worth it. The accompanying software is perfect and the "cloning" program from an older disk is truly incredible help. With closed eyes for the 7th Samsung SSD with increased capacity.
Since I discovered the Samsung SSDs (850, 860, 870..), I wouldn't change them for anything. They are incredibly fast and reliable for everyday professional use.

You will not become wiser from my comment, as others have already written them in dozens of previous comments. I got it to replace an old laptop disk with the same capacity, which wasn't even an SSD, and of course, the machine now runs like a charm!
The image is with the 860 at full PERFORMANCE, in normal mode it runs as the mother says and it is a storage disk for over a year. For the operating system, I installed the 990 pre M2, at full it doesn't reach the 860, it just goes as the company says.
