The Andowl WiFi Extender broadcasts a signal on a frequency, 2.4Ghz, which offers lower speeds than those that broadcast on 2 (dual) or 3 (tri-band) frequencies. The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most common, and because it has a large range, it is usually congested with neighboring Wi-Fi signals, further hindering device communication. For managing multiple devices, a dual-band device can handle it more effectively. The repeater can provide up to 300Mbps in total to devices connected to it. In practice, the actual speed that such a repeater of this generation (Wi-Fi 4) can offer on a device is closer to 50Mbps. For example, a high-resolution 4K movie requires about 25Mbps. The speed that each connected device will have depends on the distance, obstacles, how many other devices are connected, how many other networks exist in the same area, etc. It is a Wi-Fi 4 generation, an older generation recommended for use with few devices and for applications that do not require high speeds. The connection via Ethernet cable provides a speed of 100Mbps, which is sufficient to meet all needs, e.g. for a high-definition 4K movie, about 25Mbps is needed.
