This specific SSD came to me randomly installed in a refurbished laptop with relatively good specifications (i5, 8GB RAM). I opened the laptop to apply new thermal paste to the CPU and I am evaluating it now since I saw it and it is the first Patriot hard drive I have. It is an SSD with very good performance compared to old mechanical hard drives (HDD) as expected, but in comparison to more expensive and higher quality SSDs, it has lower performance (more so with small and random files) and reliability, meaning in terms of write-delete TBW (TLC or possibly QLC at 50TBW). In SSDs, the memory technologies are TLC (cheap, less endurance), MLC (expensive, fast, durable), 3D NAND (cheap, fast, reliable between TLC-MLC), SLC (very expensive, very fast, very durable), etc. Of course, for basic use in an old PC that had an HDD, it is a significant upgrade in boot speed and overall user experience at a very low cost (around 10€), making it a worthwhile Value For Money purchase. Let's go into detail: - Many report having issues with this specific SSD, and from what I understand, it relates to some Phison controllers or bad batches where in this low price category there are many chances of failure. Mine uses the Silicon Motion SM2259XT 28nm, 32-bit 1 core @ 437 MHz controller (in this price category, as expected, it does not have DRAM as a buffer but also for managing uniform writes across all NAND cells of the drive, which more expensive SSDs have for longevity), but a type of pseudo-SLC memory of 32MB with smart algorithms that "handles" the above process in combination with the main RAM of the PC. The SM2259XT controller, as I see on Google, is also common in other low-end SSDs, even in cheap SSD models of 960GB. - In terms of endurance for write-delete cycles, the drive promises 50 TBW with TLC or QLC technology (in the worst case) as expected, and even if it reaches half of the TBW, it will be perfect since I have a Samsung 840 Pro 128GB in one system, which has been used intensively for 9 years, has done 42.37 TBW so far with a limit of 73 TBW with MLC technology, and has started to lag, with 84% health. How reliable it is will show over time, as it is currently at 0.57 TBW and 100% health. - In terms of speeds, we have very good results; however, there is a drop in small and random files as expected. In a recent measurement on the 9-year-old battered Samsung 840 Pro, the cheap Patriot surpassed it by about 100 MB/s in the SEQ1M Q8T1 and Q1T1 tests, while in random and small files RND, the 840 Pro, due to its DRAM and 3-core controller, surpassed it by an additional 20 MB/s. In the SATA III interface, where the limit is 600 MB/s, you have a comfortable and fast experience in the operating system and everyday applications, as well as in game setups that load quickly with SATA SSD compared to SATA HDD magnetic drives. If you have laptops or PCs with M.2 NVME interface, prefer NVME SSDs as the M.2 NVME interface reaches speeds in the GB/s range, and you will see a significant difference only in processing large 4K video files running from an NVME drive, but also in terms of no cables for better cable management.

We used them in our service a year ago. We thought they were reliable, but they all really returned.... all of them after 6-12 months of operation. The Phison controller is unreliable and generally those SSDs that have this controller have a problem.
He has worked for over 15,000 hours, and has a 98% life.
Generally, these discs are a jackpot. Some last much longer than famous ones.
Whatever is the worst thing circulating, stay away! The first one I got in the week (!!!) crashed. They replaced it and now, 2 months later, crashes, hang ups, and freezes every now and then (tested on two setups). Garbage, not even suitable for occasional backups.
Let's start with the basics.
It costs less than 30€ for 480gb.
Personally, I got it to replace a storage hard drive that had tens of thousands of bad sectors.
I did the job with cloning. Maybe 40-45 minutes, maybe just under an hour. Somewhere around there.
When I held the SSD in my hands, I thought it was a piece of plastic. Very lightweight.
It finds files instantly.
It does its job and more.
There are better SSDs, of course. But it's unfair to compare SSDs that cost 100€ with those under 30€.
Anyone who wants a top-notch SSD knows how much they cost and which ones are the best.
For an upgrade from old spinning parts, it's value for money at 30€.
When I bought it (about a year ago), I was a bit skeptical because unlike the Patriot memories, SSDs do not have the best reputation.
In the end, it is fast, economical, and I keep a reserve for its reliability.
After a year, it has dropped 99% and has not presented any problems.
Also, it does not come with any management software...
It is a very good disc... fast but not of such good quality... it is made of mediocre plastic, the screws it tightens are not good because if you force them, they come out VERY EASILY.... its speed in win11 is very good... even more so in other operating systems where I tested it

I see a lot of nonsense in the reviews so I will add my own. Yes, it is slower than others BUT for its price, it is fine. It is a budget SSD for old PCs and in this field, it is fine. As for its lifespan, it depends on your luck. I had bought a Samsung EVO for 100 euros and it died in 5 months while this one still works correctly. Now the chances of encountering a problem are of course higher than with a more expensive model. As they say, you get what you pay for. So compare the model with other similar models at the same price and not with top-tier models.
Although fake material has been used to create this hard disk (construction, equally poor quality), one positive aspect is that it is an affordable hard disk that does not get stuck with any software I have tried.
It was purchased for around €40 three years ago, not really value for money considering its capacity. Now it is worth only €15-20, mainly for running Windows, Linux, and at worst, iOS :*
Multiple experiences with this specific disk and all led to the same result. After specific recordings on the disk, it bricked. It's not worth even 10 euros the possibility of losing all your files and not being able to reuse the disk again.
Give 5-10 euros more and get a RELIABLE disk
Slower than the previous model, Patriot Burst, the speeds that the diskmark produces are not real, it is 100mb slower than the plain burst, it is not only elite, prefer the p210 faster and more reliable plus 8gb additional capacity. For its price, it is fine though
Personally, I still haven't understood the reason why everyone complains about this specific SSD. Yes, it may be slower compared to some expensive SSDs, but it is worth every penny, 100% without a doubt. The 120GB one costs only 15€ and there are people who say, "Oh, it's not as good as the 45€ Samsung EVO, etc." It is a budget SSD, a budget option for upgrading a mechanical hard drive. It's like day and night in that case. If you are bothered by the "slower" SSDs, then get the 50€ drive, while Patriot offers the exact same thing for just 20€, just a bit slower
Purchase on 30-12-2020 and installation on laptop on 08. Used lightly to moderately for office work and browsing.
Stopped working without any notification. Cheap, but. Had an OCZ for 6 years, a Patriot for one. Also, on my son's 6-year-old computer that he uses all day for writing and deleting, he has an Intenso SSD of one kilo and it still holds up.
SSD only for OS now. Trust a conventional disk for DATA, And always BACKUP x3.

We have used it in the past and have no complaints. The new one, with only the windows inside, reaches its nominal speeds.
However, after so many years, we would like it to be replaced in the same price range by its 250GB brother, as 120GB is relatively small and you need to manage your files properly to avoid filling it up.
As for reliability, only time will tell, but we have some that have been working flawlessly for 2-3 years.

After testing:
In an old PC with Z97 motherboard, the Patriot Burst Elite SSD 960GB has a problem. It shows many errors, "ultradma crc error count," in HD Sentinel. I tried different SATA cables, power supplies, SATA ports, and even a PCIe SATAIII card (with ASMEDIA chip), but it still had errors. In the same PC and with the same cables, other HDD/SSD drives work perfectly.
In a newer PC with B450, the Patriot Burst Elite SSD 960GB works without errors, without any issues.
It is considerably slower compared to the Samsung 860 EVO, Crucial MX500, or WD Blue 3D SSD.
It is not an extension of the regular Burst. They should have used the SMI2259 controller with DRAM cache, then it might have been faster.
When writing a large volume of files, it becomes very slow and sluggish.
While initially, when copying files, the speed was around 400MB/sec (with fluctuations), when you write around 400-500 GB of data on the drive, it becomes sluggish and the write speed drops to as low as 17 to 18 MB/sec.
Prefer another SSD.
In 10 months it gave up. Unfortunately, I hadn't taken a backup of the laptop. Kingston, Samsung, WD. Nothing else...
I don't know why you have a problem. I have had it for 2 hours and I saw a great change from a better mechanical installation to faster speed, although I will see with time, but for now, it works perfectly in all aspects.
I put two stars because the patriot does not tell us what controller it has, only that it is the latest. It also tells us that this controller supports tcl and qlc nand, which makes me wonder what nand it uses. There is no more information on the patriot's website.
I will give it 4 stars because it gave me a blue screen even though I think I am responsible for it, but I have to say that it is a very good SSD!
