They are of mediocre quality plastic with thin straps that I consider easy to cut and unravel!!!
The most important disadvantage, however, is that as soon as you bend your leg, it leaves a gap at your knee, causing the kneecap to find its way from the inside to the outer central plastic, so without any padding, in case of a fall, your knee will hit this hard plastic!!!
I don't know what protection it can offer, maybe slightly better than wearing nothing, but that's not the purpose!!!

It was a change from other knee pads I had ordered but those didn't work either!!!!

The product is bad, made of poor quality plastic. Knee pads from Jumbo have better plastic. And most importantly, inside the middle plastic that is the knee, there is no fabric or cushions and on the contrary, I had a plastic lump on the inner side. In other words, in case of a fall, the knee is useless..... We don't play with safety..... Needless to say, the product was returned the same day...
