The 4 stars are for the insane price, regardless of the quality. It is the first Bluetooth headset that, in many sound scales, can compete with and surpass the wired set I have, consisting of the Sony MDR-Z7 headphones and the Sony PHA-3 headphone amplifier, with a total value of 1500 euros! As a demanding user of audio files who listens to very demanding music, rich in the entire spectrum of sounds, I am initially satisfied with the clarity and fidelity. I hear sounds with the same naturalness that the top Sony set provides, while also highlighting the finer sounds. The separation of instruments in the very difficult music I listen to (folk, rock, light, Greek music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s) is noticeably better than the other Bluetooth headphones I had (most recently the Sony WH-1000XM3, WF-1000XM3). I am testing them as I write this review, listening to the songs I just heard yesterday, and I am very satisfied with how they sound! And they haven't even "settled" yet, a process that takes 1-2 months. Bass, midrange, treble, vocals, guitars, drums, everything is reproduced faithfully.
The transition from one Apple device to another is much easier compared to the AirPods Pro.
Conclusion: It's a shame that Apple set such a high price for them and doesn't give more people, users of the Apple ecosystem, the opportunity to enjoy them. However, anyone who is willing to invest in them will ultimately be satisfied. I decided to buy them after carefully reading reviews that all emphasized their exceptional sound. For me, that was the primary concern.
After two weeks of use, in 7/10 of the songs, I discover small or large details, despite the countless times I have listened to them so far. For now, the treble is somewhat emphasized, but with "settling," they may improve. However, after 1-1.5 hours of listening, I feel much better, having listened to my favorite music in very good quality compared to the Sony WH-1000XM3, MDR-1ABT, MDR-1000XM1 that I had until recently. These headphones were clear, but they "made up" the naturalness of the recording, compared to the AirPods Max, which highlight the natural sound. Also, the problem with moisture formation outdoors at temperatures of 10-18 degrees in winter and early spring is real, and after use, they need to be cleaned under the earpads.
Update 7/12/2022: Unfortunately, they have a problem with noise cancellation, despite the minimal and careful use I have given them, and Apple refuses to replace them within the 2-year period, as they were purchased from a store, which is unacceptable. Unfortunately, the store is not responding, it is out of operation, and I have contacted the consumer advocate. It is unacceptable for headphones of this level and value to hear a whirlwind when noise cancellation is activated. Let's hope it's a software problem and will be fixed in a future upgrade. Unfortunately, they didn't even know how to tell me that...

As for the sound, it is really very clear and powerful, but not the best headphones (women and technology) for the 550 I bought, they are worth it when I connect them to the iPhone 15 Pro and Mac Studio M2 MAX and they give 100% satisfaction at maximum!

I tried them for a while, but I didn't buy them. I own airpods pro and pro 2. I thought about buying them, but something is holding me back because when it snowed a little, I couldn't hear the song clearly. That bothered me. Before trying them at istorm, I was wearing the airpods pro 2 and I listened to some songs that I have heard 100 times, and then I tried the pro max to see the differences. That's what I noticed, as I said before, but yes, they have good sound and it's full. The only thing that bothered me is what I mentioned earlier, so I probably won't proceed with buying them
The best headphones that exist are very lightweight and comfortable, the sound is incredible, and those who have commented that they are not worth the money and are expensive and do not have good sound simply do not know what sound means, you get what you pay for, I have no words to describe how perfect these headphones are, they are worth every euro!!!!!!

They don't compare at all to the Sony XM4 I had. Many reviews I had seen said that there were small differences with the XM4, but I was ultimately proven wrong. While initially skeptical about whether they were worth the upgrade, I found the opportunity to try them and bought them right away. The upgrade was definitely worth it and more with these headphones! For those of you who are torn between the Sony XM4, XM5, and these, there's really no comparison. If you search well, you can find them for under €500. Still a lot of money, but for someone who knows how to appreciate sound and bass, they won't regret giving it. The noise cancelling and transparency mode are simply amazing. Their noise cancelling is impressively stunning. Of course, before making any purchase, I would recommend trying them out for yourselves to understand if they are your ideal choice! From me, the AirPods Max are flawless in every aspect!
Very good in sound performance and bass and treble balance. Good construction. I don't know about the quality because I just tested them. The price is tragic though.. Very expensive.. There are others that I have tried with 200€ with the same or maybe better quality.. you just pay for the brand.
I have been using them for 3 days. The build quality is excellent. The connectivity is excellent, much faster than my AirPods Pro (1).
The sound is so-so. The bass is very good, but the treble is quite pronounced. I tried the Tidal premium for 30 days for free, which allows you to listen to wav files, and I was amazed... I got lost in the music...
They are slightly heavier, but it's not something you should worry about.

I would only put the 4 for the price-performance ratio. Otherwise, they are not playable!! The amazing thing is that the more you wear them, the more comfortable they become, until after 5 hours (for me) you forget that you are wearing them!
many software issues everyday, sometimes they don't recognise that they're in your head and you have to wait several minutes to use them, if they connect they work perfectly but I've been having software and connectivity issues everyday ,its very time consuming and didn't expect this for this device. worst problem if connected ;) is when they randomly once a week make a very loud weird sound for no reason that literally hurts your ears for half an hour .Ive tried reseting them many times and tried everything but they just can't connect with apple devices its a nightmare on a daily basis last but not least you need their case for everything and sometimes they don't recognise that they're in their case so they eat all your battery.ive got plenty more problem to address but I think its enough .apple is good with its products but in this one the standard was just not even close.was using similar headphones and I have to say that these ones are the worst-worst experience .
After 6 months of using them every day, all day, I have to say that even though they are expensive, they are worth their money. They have perfect bass, perfect sound, and they last a long time. The only negative thing I can say is that they are a bit heavy and some people may not like that at first, but personally, I got used to it.
I personally believe that they are not worth their money. You can buy a brand new device with the same amount of money, which will also be more useful. Their price is quite high, and I believe they are almost useless for the average user. Just get the pro ones, which are also very good and much cheaper.
Bought at 600€ from a chain. They are simply not available. Even if they were 1000€, their purchase would be worth it. The best bass in terms of acoustics, the best clarity with various Hz. Anyone who knows about sound will understand the details, and an amateur will notice the difference in listening. I had the AirPods and the AirPods Pro... yesterday I got the Max, the best purchase I have made. No comparison to the other wireless headphones on the market. They are flawless!
I bought them with the prospect of heavy use as I work from home and I'm on calls all day. I wanted good sound for music and videos, good noise cancellation, and a good transparency mode. The AirPods Pro required constant charging, which became annoying. Despite offering all the features I bought them for, I haven't found them convenient. They are heavy, create uncomfortable heat in the ears, and cause extra pressure due to glasses (and the ear tips started to deform where they touch the glasses after 2 days of use), so I have to take them off every now and then for temporary relief.
I chose them over the Sony XM4 because all the reviews said they had better sound and a better transparency mode, plus the small advantages they provide if you already have Apple devices (but I consider this a secondary factor).
In terms of price, it's obvious that we're not talking about value for money, but it is definitely a premium build. In other aspects (not for me, as I bought them for home use only), they are not suitable for sports activities. They sit well on the head when sitting or moving around the house, but it's very risky for them to fall off during exercise. Also, the original (also expensive) ear tips are not available anywhere in the Greek market in case you need to replace them, and the imitations are of questionable quality.
In conclusion, I consider them a mediocre (if not unfortunate) purchase.

Excellent sound quality, the best noise cancellation and sound pass through you will find in headphones. Comfortable even after hours of use.
Owner of the airpods and decided to buy the Max as well, the difference in sound is huge as the isolation from ambient sounds contributes significantly, I have no experience with other similar level ones to make a comparison.
Their quality seems amazing and there are no plastic surfaces, the fit is amazing as it has a system that embraces any head type, the attachment to the head is exemplary, the noise cancellation works amazingly, with one tap you can hear normally as if you are not wearing them and with another tap of a button absolute silence!
As a visual on the head, they don't look bulky like others I see...
For speech, of course, I prefer the AirPods, after all, I don't think the Max have a primary role in speech...
I tried them on an atmos movie from tv and I could actually hear noises from various directions, close and far...
Like being inside the movie!
The ear tips don't make the ear sweat and they are magnetic.
If you remove them from your head, it pauses, it connects without doing anything to any device with the same ID nearby.
With one charge, I watched 4 movies and about 3 hours of music, I don't know if I reached the 20 hours it gives...
With a 30W charger, they charge from empty in less than 2 hours.
As negatives, I would mention the price, that the aluminum will definitely need some protection from hits or scratches, and finally, I would say that in my case, after about 1 hour, I have some discomfort in my left ear, which gradually decreases after uses.
Increased weight which is not bothersome unless you want to run with them.
update:
Immediately protective covers were purchased for the aluminum surfaces at a price of around 30 euros, they don't add volume, they are not visible because they are transparent, they fit normally in the case, and access to the buttons is not obstructed.
They can be distinguished in the photos with a little attention.
I believe if they weren't so expensive, everyone would prefer them.
They are very good headphones.

I am writing this review for those who are undecided between 300 euro headphones and AirPods max.
I will start with the sound, which is truly crystal clear.
The bass is powerful up to the point where it doesn't distort.
There is excellent separation in low-mid-high frequencies to a point where I didn't believe Bluetooth could deliver (I have tried headphones like Focal and Hifiman, so I know what really good headphones can do).
The ANC and transparency are, in my opinion, slightly enhanced compared to the pro version, even though these are over-ear. However, in the AirPods pro, I find them exceptional, and both features are exceptional here as well.
The build quality is incredible. The headband doesn't creak at all (as is usually the case with over-ear headphones) and they are extremely comfortable, which compensates for their large weight.
Finally, I want to mention that I tried the Sony WH-1000XM4 on a relative, and you should know that the difference in sound is noticeable without much effort (the max is superior).
Anyone who:
- Has the money and is in the Apple ecosystem
- Spends several hours at their desk
- Likes bass in the music they listen to without asking for excessive things (Skullcandy)
should buy them without much thought.

Excellent sound and completely surreal ANC. I also have the Bose q35 but compared to the MAX, they fall behind in cutting out speech noise.

4. Heavy. Incredibly heavy. If you bend forward, they are at risk of falling off your head. However, when you wear them in a magical way, the weight disappears.
