You need to be careful about how you place the batteries because if they don't fit properly (in the very small protrusion it has), it doesn't measure correctly. Additionally, the gradation it has is not very accurate. For batteries that were "moderate to empty" in strength, it shows them within the green area (good), the needle is shifted but still within the green area when it should have been in the yellow (low)
