Update 1:
Guys, I don't know if my machine's lanes are insufficient, but in a very short period of time, the recording has dropped to 1100.
I won't give stars until I'm sure it's not my configuration's fault.
Update 2:
I will give one star because there was nothing wrong with my setup. The disk had a problem and others had the same symptom.
Now the disk works fine. They have released 2 firmware updates since then.
As a precaution, I have improved the cooling of the m.2 in my case by adding an extra fan to hit the m.2. I believe the problem had to do with temperatures and protecting the disk from them.
Those who have it, download Samsung Magician and update it if the firmware starts from 3. There is a risk of it getting stuck and not "performing" anything, for example, the computer won't see Windows to open. This is what happened to me and now I have a very fast SSD that I can only use to store files.
On Linux it worked perfectly, on Windows at first it had issues with the File Explorer and was very slow, but after 2 firmware updates it works like a charm. It's a bit expensive, but it's worth it
I bought it for 78€ in October '22 and since then I have it on my computer with installed Windows and it works like a crazy dog... surely there are cheaper ones with less money but if you want guarantee, quality, and a reputable brand, this SSD is one of the best choices
Awesome NVME. I have it for booting Windows and it works like a charm, even though it's 4th generation. I don't think you will notice a huge difference compared to the 990pro. Those who get the 2TB version should pay attention to the firmware!!!
Very good SSD Card if you are thinking about 1Tb or 2Tb I would recommend 2TB because you never know. The card is fast and has never had a problem with it
Nice and well-designed packaging, the disk is one of the top in its category, flawless! If your motherboard does not provide a good cooler, it is advisable to get one.
I consider it the most value for money solution, even if you are dealing with graphic design or are designers in a broader context (interior, architecture, 3D modelers, etc.) do not just get this for storage space. Response times are not playing but 1TB is not enough for us: P iykyk
I bought it, about a month ago, as a second (disk) to run games from there, as my first disk I bought a 5th generation m.2. I bought it because Samsung is known for their reliability.
Value SAMSUNG.
It has not caused me any issues as others have reported. Since it is an SSD, avoid many Read/Writes for a better life!
EDIT: I am not talking about speeds but about the technology of SSDs. SSDs in general deteriorate when many Reads/Writes are performed (generally when using a lot of IO).
It is as fast as you read in various tests and reviews. I have put it in an external Asus Arion case and it has not lost any of its speed. In fact, it is faster than the external SSDs I have (Sandisk, Samsung).
I haven't had it for a long time, but I am completely satisfied.
Only when transferring large files does it sometimes have fluctuations, but nothing serious.
Of course, with use, it increases in temperature, but the case helps it function without any problems.
One of the best on the market. Used for gaming. I thought about giving it four stars because I lose all the tips on the loading screens (just kidding). SATA III SSDs are now disappearing while new games require an SSD in the system. So NVME is now the only way. You don't need these speeds for gaming, nor can you take advantage of them. I just personally wanted to give something a little extra and put in a top-tier M2, since I already have a high-end system in general.
Purchase of the 500GB as the main boot drive for Windows only. Very fast and works perfectly with the Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX, while its temperature does not exceed 30 to 36 degrees. Now time will tell about its durability. In stadart mode, it reaches the numbers of the photo (Read 6793 MB/s & Write 5048 MB/s). Advice for everyone, especially those who have complaints or are disappointed. Do not get it if you don't have an M.2 cooler and a good case airflow, but also in general, do not get PCIe 4.0 without using a cooler. If it goes above 42-44 degrees, it reduces its lifespan. Also, for those who have a cooler, either from the motherboard or aftermarket, remove the Samsung label so that the thermal pad sticks to the chips (if there is no thermal tape between the M.2 and the cooler, do not operate it until you get an aftermarket thermal pad).
So far, for me, the 980 Pro is responsive and sustained in its performance. It has a new V-NAND 3-bit TLC memory, which is more reliable and durable than the previous generation. If you are looking for an SSD that combines quality, reliability, and innovation, then the Samsung 980 Pro is an excellent choice. I will come back if I see drastic speed drops.
Guys, I was a Samsung fanatic. I had the 830, 840, 850, and 860. Then I switched to 2X NVME 970 EVO Plus and eventually 980 PRO. The SATA ones didn't have time to break on me. I quickly switched to NVME. However, the 2 970s and the one 980 broke on me in less than 6 months. Never again Samsung. I got an SN770 GEN 4 and a Crucial GEN 3 1GB. TOP NOTCH and with a tone. Not to mention that the prices are much better. Don't make the mistake, guys. Trust me.
I have had it for a month. It is still early, but so far it does what it promises. I hope to have the same good experience with the 500gb 980 PRO, which I have been using for about a year now. This one was added as an increase in storage space to my existing PC. I consider it to be one of the most reliable solutions, which is why it was preferred. Also, its purchase cost me 71.50 euros with some discount coupons, so it was a great value for money.
Quite warm, compared to the nvme 960 evo. I've had it for 6 years and it's still alive, with 6 degrees Celsius idle below the 950 pro 500g. There is a big difference in temperature, with 10 degrees Celsius in load

I bought it about a year and a half ago and my computer didn't recognize it, resulting in not being able to make a proper image and having to manually copy it.
The conclusions are yours (photo). I have had the disk for about a month now and I will come back next year for further analysis. For now, I am satisfied with its performance and I hope it will be durable over time!
Samsung. A disk with a big name that offers high performance, after all we're talking about gen 4. Very fast, stable and has great durability both in temperatures during gaming and in heavy workloads. Speeds are significantly higher than those of comparable drives in its category and the expected cost is higher than other drives of the same capacity, but here you know you're paying for a reliable drive with a guaranteed name that will give you the assurance of good performance in any usage scenario. Ultimately, if you're willing to pay for a top-of-the-line drive, I definitely recommend it (not just this one but also higher capacity ones). However, if you don't have the money that Samsung is asking for, there are certainly cheaper solutions with very good performance from other tried and tested companies that will serve your purpose seamlessly. (I got an Aorus gen4 500gb for the same price and it works perfectly in games)
Hello, the disk is very good. I have installed two Samsung 980 Pro 500 GB disks in raid 0 and the speed I am getting is 12000 to 13000 Mb/s. The price is expensive because there is an NVME disk from Kingston for 78 euros with slightly higher speed and a capacity of 1 terabyte.
I bought it because I was tired of not having enough space on my 970 NVMe 500GB for games. So this one is dedicated solely for that purpose. I am very satisfied with its speed, reliability, and accompanying software. Make sure to update the firmware as soon as you install it, because I read that there was a particularly problematic issue with the 2TB model on older firmware that could turn the disk into a brick.
