I have had the product for a week now. I am completely satisfied with the purchase. So far, I have made: fried potatoes (fresh, half a spoon of oil, as unbelievable as it sounds, 15 minutes), frozen french fries (large package in one pan, half a spoon of oil, 15 minutes), chicken nuggets for 3 servings (straight from the freezer to the fryer, no oil, 15 minutes), grilled vegetables (peppers, zucchini, no oil, 10 minutes), corn (no oil, 10 minutes). Everything was excellent, really! That's why I took the trouble to write a few words because I believe it will help those who are looking for an easy and clean (and apparently healthy) way to fry. A very important advantage is that the basket can be washed in the dishwasher, although it also cleans very easily by hand. It is a well-made product and, in my opinion, worth its money. Highly recommended.
There are two plastic pieces, one at the bottom of the basket and one at the back, covering one of the handle screws. If I had known that there were plastic pieces in contact with my food, I would have never bought it! I can't find any mention of these plastic pieces. Even if they are food grade plastics, which doesn't seem to be the case because they are not mentioned anywhere and they don't have any markings, I still wouldn't want my food to come into contact with plastic pieces. According to literature, even safe plastics for food can release chemicals at high temperatures! This is a very serious issue for me, and it seems to be due to a manufacturing flaw of the basket as the purpose they seem to serve is its stabilization.
I chose this particular company for its reliability and for the most part, I was justified. But having a screw and nut break on the lever for the bucket after 4 months was unexpected
My only issue is that I can’t turn it on so easily , something got wrong with the piece in the bottom that when you close it it turns on , I need to staff a paper on something to stay on
In general though is working fine
Perfect. I have a Rohnson and another Chinese one.
I use the Chinese ones because they have more space.
But this one, since it suits you in volume, is miles better in quality and functionality.
If there is one with a larger bucket, get it without a second thought.
And with a representative in Greece.
Very good purchase. One suggestion: Don't pay attention to the programs. Experiment with the times and the food will turn out excellent. Also, whatever food you make, preheat the device a little. At 150 degrees for 4 minutes. A few days in my possession, very satisfied so far!
Perhaps the best purchase I have made in many years. Satisfactorily large bin to hold a lot, heats up quickly and cleans easily if you don't leave it and clean it after you eat.
Overall good in performance, I am not satisfied with the build quality and durability. After 3 months, a plastic protective cover of a button broke. The feeling is that it is not a sturdy construction as the bin "wobbles" when you take it out or put it back in place.
Great fryer but guys don't let it spoil you....ridiculous service and explanation...it started to have interruptions lately and turn off by itself..I took it with warranty to the store's service where I bought it and they in turn to AEG's service....the answer I got from there was a charge of 60 euros because they say I have misused it...the misuse was that the top part where the fan works was not clean...how ridiculous my god I probably should have it as an exhibition on the kitchen counter...AWAY FROM AEG THEY ARE RIDICULOUS!!!!!!
From me, 5 stars.
Chicken fillet with a little oil and spices makes it very good, of course it takes about 5 minutes longer than the program settings. Fried potatoes as well. You save time and dirt. The basket cleans easily and the Teflon seems to be of good quality. I don't like the vegetables as they are made if you don't use any oil. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. It's also worth it in terms of safety, you don't fry so there's no chance of forgetting to keep an eye open and causing a flame. I recommend it
Very good product! Regarding meats and omelettes, it cooks everything exceptionally well. It doesn't cook desserts and cakes very well, but otherwise, it is a very good product and I am very satisfied!
The deep fryer is a joke! I don't understand what kind of cooks those who criticize are! It doesn't fry anything, it leaves everything uncooked and takes 10 hours!
I gave it to my mom and she, in turn, gave it to someone else. What a drama!
Amazing machine does what it promises.
Steaks, burgers, kebabs, potatoes, zucchinis, and many more, it cooks them perfectly. With the potatoes, I haven't found it yet, they need to be very thin to cook evenly, but I will find it.
It cooks in less time than it claims, incredible time and power savings.
We have washed 2-3 trays at most in the 2 months we have it, whatever goes into the air fryer, the oil residue sticks to it and you just throw it away and clean it. It also has ready-made baking trays from the Chinese
I have had it for a year. Overall, I am very satisfied. The only downside is that it does not come with a baking tray or a grill when you purchase it. So, if you don't use parchment paper, it can get a bit messy with the drippings, but it's okay. Also, when I cook meat with a lot of fat (like thick pork or country-style sausages), it produces a lot of smoke to the point where opening the windows is not enough to clear it, so I just take the machine outside to continue cooking. Sometimes I do all the cooking outside. Among its many positives, it has a very good construction, which is why I paid more for it (I bought it for 160€), but it has exceeded my expectations. I wish it was a bit bigger. It easily makes potatoes, chicken (both whole and small pieces), steaks, bread, etc. It costs a bit more, but it won't disappoint you
The technology they use is not nuclear physics.
It has resistors on top and a fan to distribute the hot air.
Where the pan and oven excel is as follows.
Due to its small volume compared to an oven, it does not require preheating and cooks in minimal time.
So you save time, energy, and cleanliness as it can also go in the dishwasher.
The 5.4L capacity is borderline for more than 2 people, and I'll explain why.
You can put a chicken fillet, you can put 2 steaks, half a package of frozen pastries, you can make potatoes for 2-3 people, a small cake.
I bought silicone molds and now I make cakes and omelettes.
As for the build quality of the AEG, we have had it for 4 years with daily use and it is as good as the first day.
I am giving indicative times that I have in a list so I don't have to search every time,
since the instructions are usually for an oven or a pan.
It is a fantastic product. Usually in 25 minutes you have ready meals even from direct freezing, it doesn't create any problem for you. Many times I don't use any oil at all. Crispy and fast. Also, I use it to warm up something because I don't have a microwave (just be careful not to have dry food because it dries it out). It will solve your hands!
Unfortunately, after 3 months of regular use, it left us hanging!! While cooking, it made a bang and exploded!! I am waiting to hear what Plaisio will tell me. Otherwise, it was excellent in all cooking
In the 4 months of operation, it presented a problem, releasing air from the front. I have taken it for repair 3 times. Unacceptable behavior from the technician and poor service from the company
Very high quality as a whole.
I disagree with the programs and the times it has, but otherwise it is worth it with closed eyes.
You won't need an oven and a grill!
Whatever I say is not enough. Bought on 1-11-2021. Until today, I cook 4-5 times a week in the air fryer. I bought it because I wanted to eat healthier (and tastier, I got tired of the steam cooker!), but I didn't have a good relationship with cooking. It really makes potatoes without oil, or with very little. Fresh potatoes take 20-22 minutes, pre-fried ones 10-12 minutes depending on the quantity. Chicken breast 18 minutes, thigh a little longer, sea bream 18 minutes, salmon 10-15 minutes depending on taste, pork chops 12-14 minutes...... vegetables, burgers, apple pies, etc. etc!!! In general, it cooks quickly and the times are...... Here I found them, I who had no relationship with cooking.......
A very good purchase for quick, tasty, and healthy meals. One of the best purchases I have made!!
It is one of the best purchases I have made. It does what it promises as it cooks quickly and with little oil. I simply set the time and temperature and I don't have to think about anything else since the food is cooked properly and is delicious. I also made fried potatoes and although I had read negative comments, I have to say that I completely disagree. They were crispy, tasty, and healthy! Certainly, capacity is an issue for families with many members, but for us, being a couple, it is perfect. I highly recommend it!
I received it today. 4 stars because when I opened it, I might have expected better build quality. Not that it's bad, but for the money it asks, I think it should be more carefully made in some areas.
Apart from that, regarding cooking, I will say that it impressed me. The first thing I had available to test was potatoes. One big potato which I cut and left for 20 minutes in the freezer. Oil, salt, etc., and in the program for potatoes, 15' at 180C. Without flipping, they were almost perfect, and I say almost because personally I wanted them crispier. I put them for another 4' at 200 and they came out perfect. Truly incredible. Later, two big burgers with broccoli and cauliflower in 17' at 180... perfect. Again, turning or stirring the food didn't make much difference. It was ready!
Overall, it wants you to tailor it to your needs and tastes. But it really does an impressive job. I recommend it.
The item is broken after 3 months, the bottom falls to the floor when you take the tray out, Skroutz were very helpful and I now have a replacement model, thank you Skroutz.
You can easily and quickly cook, the food becomes delicious (okay, it's not a feast on the coals) and it cleans up very easily. Overall, it is an investment that is worth having in every home.
We bought this specific air fryer because of the AEG brand name, and we were really impressed. Potatoes, vegetables, and cheese pies are cooked in much less time than in a regular oven, resulting in immediate money savings. Pork fillets are perfectly cooked in less time, with high-quality construction and a beautiful design. The basket is easy to clean, the menu is user-friendly, but almost all the food needs to be shaken and rotated halfway through cooking to ensure even cooking. If you follow the instructions and use the recommended amount of potatoes, they will turn out perfectly, even better than fried ones.
Overall very good, apart from 1 - 2 things that could be improved. Unlike other air fryers, it doesn't make noise halfway through cooking to flip the food, but I noticed that in some cases it might be better to flip the food towards the end rather than halfway. After about 15 minutes of use at 180°, the external stainless steel surface is very hot. It emits a lot of hot air from the back and bottom, so be careful where you place it. I, who have a granite countertop, place it in the eyes of the kitchen because otherwise it will fog up and break the countertop. At the same time, the space smells quite a bit if you put strong spices like garlic or cumin in the food. I would recommend placing it near the extractor hood and turning it on during use.
The program for potatoes that it has, I believe is not good because the potatoes don't come out very crispy. I first put them in cold water with a little salt for about 20 minutes. I dry them well, spray them with oil, and put them in for 15 minutes at 170°. Then I take them out, shake them, add a little more salt, and put them in for 5 - 8 minutes (depending on how thickly cut they are) at 200° to make them crispy.
I have had it for about 4 months.
I have cooked with it so far with amazing results (crispy, juicy, and evenly cooked):
Steaks
Beef and chicken burgers
Lamb and chicken chops
Whole chicken
Mackerel
Meatballs
Schnitzel
Grilled vegetables
Whole corn
Frozen cheese and pastry pies
Chicken nuggets
Rice
Bacon
French fries
Everything comes out great and in 1/3 of the time compared to the oven (about 20 minutes)
I don't use any oil at all in all of the above, just brush them lightly with a brush.
VERY IMPORTANT: also buy a pyrex dish with a maximum diameter of 19cm to fit in the basket (maximum cost of 10€). This way, you can place it in the basket and warm up your food if you choose about 120 oC for 5-7 minutes. This is how I stopped using the unhealthy microwave oven to warm up my food and I do it there.
Even without oil, it produces a slight smell. My opinion is that it should be used under the extractor fan or at least in a nearby spot, especially if the house is small.
In terms of capacity, it is okay for 2 people. For example, the basket can easily fit 2 large steaks with bones.
It is worth its money, and of course, its amortization is guaranteed due to the savings in oil and electricity.
The device will consume a maximum of 1800W, while the oven requires three times the time using 4000-5000W.
It cooks quickly, has a satisfactory drum size, looks nice, and the food becomes crispy.
Update: After about a month of use, I can say that it is a very good choice. The drum is incredible, easy to clean, and of good quality. I'll give you some indicative times.
Homemade chicken nuggets, about 25-30 pieces larger than normal, took 25 minutes. Four large potatoes, cut like french fries, took 15-20 minutes, with frequent stirring to cook them all. Approximately 30 meatballs, 2 layers in the drum, took exactly 21 minutes. Two chicken breasts without breading, etc., took 15 minutes. Two slices of eggplant took 6 minutes.
Excellent product, very good construction quality, the bin is more than enough for two people. Huge savings, it takes 60% of the time compared to the traditional oven (in the air) and think that it is 4 times more economical than it.
Cooks quickly. I made burgers in 12 minutes. You need to cook once or twice to learn the cooking times. The potatoes came out really crispy, like fried. You cut them just like for frying, put them in a bowl, add a little salt and oil, and mix to spread the oil everywhere. While they are cooking, they need about twenty minutes. The ones I made are for about three people. You need to take out the basket and shake them occasionally just by shaking the basket. I think the oil spray that some people put on the bottom is a bit unnecessary because it prevents the air from circulating properly to cook the food correctly. It saves time, money, and oil. You use exactly as much oil as you need. My next purchase will be a grill rack where I can make the basket two levels, so I can cook more burgers with just one cooking. It's worth every penny and more. 10/10.
