The "smart" thermostat with Wi-Fi technology, along with the special Home + Control app, allows you to set and monitor the temperature in your home with precision.
The Home + Control app requires the latest version for iPhone, iPad, iPod, and for Android version 5.0 or later.
Programming is easy and simple using the app.
It features a touch surface where the temperature and humidity level of the space are displayed, and from where the desired temperature can be set and the Boost function activated: turning on heating or cooling for a period of time (30, 60, or 90 minutes) regardless of the room temperature or the selected program.
Through the app, the following features are available:
Away mode if you are going to be away from home for a short period (temperature 120 C for heating operation or completely off for cooling operation) regardless of the selected program
Frost-guard mode if you are going to be away from home for a long period in winter (safety temperature 70 C), regardless of the selected program
display on the screen of the room temperature and the operating time of the heating/cooling system
Compatible with any temperature management system (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) that operates with an ON/OFF command, such as a local electric valve in an autonomous heating installation.
Compatible with Netatmo Additional Smart Radiator Valves
Can be controlled with voice assistants Google Assistant, Siri, and Alexa (currently, voice assistants operate only in English)

The best choice for a thermostat. Don't waste your time with cheap alternatives. Remote control and in combination with the electric valves, it will simply save you a lot of money. The Legrand app is user-friendly, and after a certain point, once it learns the energy inertia of your home (Heating - losses), it manages it so you have absolute thermal comfort when you need it. The price is a bit high overall, but it's worth the money.
Update 1/5/2024
I noticed that the humidity measurement was not accurate. I checked it with several smart thermometers and with the dehumidifier. You don't expect it to have the same measurement because it depends on the sensor's position within the device, but the deviation was over 20%. I contacted Legrand and was served promptly. A case number was assigned, and ultimately, a replacement was made at no cost to me. It was a hassle to remove and install, but it happens. The new thermostat has a 5% deviation, which I consider acceptable. Many times it slips your mind because the thermostat permanently shows the temperature, and you have to slide the screen to see the humidity percentage or check through the app, but it's not insignificant and you need to pay attention to it because it affects how the heating algorithm learns.
I don't feel like I made the best purchase for the following reasons:
1. It frequently loses its connection with the application, and executing commands (turn on/off/program, etc.) through the mobile app may require multiple attempts.
2. It doesn't have the capability for remote monitoring/control through a Windows desktop app, only through the mobile app.
3. It doesn't have the ability for statistics (such as tracking working hours, etc.).
4. Considering its high cost, it should offer all of these features. Therefore, it is expensive for what it does
I have had it for 2 years and the WiFi has never worked. I made 2 replacements in case there was a problem with the device. I spoke on the phone with a technician from Legrand. NOTHING.
I searched the network to see if the problem was with my router and needed to open some ports (I did that too). NOTHING.
Given that 2 air conditioners (Toyotomi & Inventor), a security camera (Skycam), and a security lock (Somfy) work seamlessly via WiFi in the house, Legrand's inability to provide a functional and reliable product is disappointing.
Very nice touch screen interface. I operate it with the apple home app. It connected very easily and I haven't encountered any issues with the wifi connectivity. Minus one star because there is no way to completely close the interface (or I haven't found it yet).
I have had the thermostat for 3 years since May and it is not connected to the app, making it useless for the purpose I bought it. There is no support via email or phone. The reason for the lack of response, I believe, is that there is no solution.
I got it for my vacation home so that I can monitor the temperature of the house and turn on the heating before we arrive and find it warm. It is very easy to use and very beautiful. Initially, I had the problem with the disconnections that are mentioned in other comments, but since I changed the location of the router in the house to ensure that the thermostat will have a good signal, I did not encounter any problem. If the internet or WiFi connection is temporarily lost, there is no need to reinstall the connection between the app and the thermostat, but it automatically reconnects (or manually refreshes from the mobile app) when the internet connection via WiFi is restored. The thermostat records and stores the temperature and humidity every 3 hours, and I can see the changes from the app in the form of a graph. The home+ app is great.
Very reliable and useful device! The installation is not difficult, but because it involves 220V power cables (a voltage that doesn't even drop if you turn off the main power of the house in case we are talking about an apartment building with a central boiler), I consider it necessary to have an electrician complete it. The connection to wifi through the mobile application is very easy and its use is simple - you don't even need instructions, the application guides you step by step. The next step of installation is the netatmo thermostatic valves, so that you can have the desired temperature in every room of the house.
This is the 3rd model of WiFi thermostat that I have purchased. The first 2 were cheap models priced at 40 and 70 euros respectively, and I deeply regretted not going straight for this one...you pay dearly for cheapness...
Starting with the installation, I would like to say that it is easy, even for older wiring types. You just need a bypass cable for power supply.
The app is amazing. It easily connects to your mobile phone. Literally, you can set a different temperature at any time of the day. It even has a GPS function. So, if you are approaching your home within the kilometers you specify, it starts up!
In the case of a maisonette, I would suggest declaring the second or third, etc. thermostat as a separate "house". The reason is that the app gives the same settings to all thermostats, and the user cannot differentiate between them. Because you don't want to waste gas or oil in the floor where the bedrooms are, while you are on the floor with the living room.
I would like to mention the price. In my case, I needed 2 thermostats, so that's 300€. It may sound expensive, but believe me, it's not worth going for cheaper models. They have poorly made applications, which are common even for alarm devices, for example...also, frequent disconnections are a common occurrence. Also, let's not forget that the next reputable and branded smart thermostat costs over 200€ and has no differences.
I ordered the wall-mounted one and received the recessed one!! The wifi disconnects every day. The thermostat is very unstable and its application has many errors. Money wasted.
Like all legrand products, this one also has rudimentary documentation. There is no comparison between the previous version of bticino and the newer home+control version of legrand. The new version has a very simplistic interface that only allows for very basic settings. Those who have used the bticino smarther, which looks identical to the legrand smarther, will be disappointed. a) Installation is relatively simple, but requires some knowledge. b) The application is unacceptably simple. c) On-site use is okay. If you don't have any other legrand products in your home+control, it's better to go for another solution.
The best thermostat of all time!!! The connection is very easy and from there on, wherever you are in the world, you can turn on, turn off, program the weekly schedule, and generally control the thermostat remotely!!! It also works with your mobile phone and GPS so that as soon as you leave home, it automatically lowers the temperature if you want, and as soon as you return, it raises it again.. It has many settings in general and is one of the best thermostats available
Love was a lightning bolt at first sight, but like all great loves, we had a bad ending and we explain why.
The installation took place in November 19, easy as described by one of the Scrut reviewers.
Beautiful, it attracted the attention of others (I received many compliments for the design), its touch screen had satisfactory responsiveness, its menu was user-friendly, simple, and minimalistic.
The internet connection was simple, following the instructions, but it had many disconnections that if you tried for the second time, at most the third time, your mobile commands would reach the thermostat.
So our relationship was going smoothly until everything started after 3 months.
The screen started flickering, at first at irregular intervals (with the thermostat working with the boiler and the router) and later very intensely to an annoying degree.
I contacted legrand's service (exemplary) and the solution was replacement (within warranty).
The installation was done on the first day and it worked fine. On the second day, the same screen problems started again.
I thought there must be a logical explanation. I measured the voltages (I even brought an electrician), tried another thermostat, but the problem was only found in the touch screen.
Legrand was categorical, replacement again.
The store where I bought it agreed to replace it with the sompfy (which I will write about).
I don't know if it was a coincidence or if I got a batch with problems, but that's how the inglorious end came.
Apart from the problems I had, I would describe it as mediocre, overpriced, while there are smarter thermostats for that money.
edit:
1. The thermostat has an on/off function.
2. It does not work with a boiler.
3. The connection to the router was achieved only by entering the thermostat's IP in the mobile application (instructions are in the manual).
4. The application is user-friendly, has manual mode, and can be programmed for day-night, weekly programming, etc.
5. I needed to calibrate the temperature (as a positive aspect).
6. CAUTION when attaching or detaching the screen, there is a clip at the bottom that is sensitive, if it tilts even slightly, the screen does not fit into the frame.
I do not recommend anyone to buy it, unless they have someone knowledgeable in networks. The instructions in the installation manual present a very easy process. In reality, this is not the case. To configure the thermostat with your router, you will need someone with very good network knowledge (it took me 2.5 hours). Before contacting a specialist, I tried from different networks (my home and neighbors') and the installation was not completed. LEGRAND's technical support does not provide the appropriate scientific personnel, nor the necessary instructions on network issues, and they do not know how to help you with the problem that arises during installation. If you decide to purchase it, you will need to consider not only the cost of connecting it by an electrician, but also the cost of the network technician's work.
Excellent thermostat with many options and excellent build quality! It works with 3 or more cables! The touch screen is very high-quality with exceptional sensitivity and minimal design!
Update
After 1.5 years of use, I only have positive things to say. The WiFi is very stable and never disconnected, the app is very fast, and the settings are perfect! I selected 2 out of the 3 scenarios and never had to deal with it again, as if it doesn't exist. Note that I connected it with location tracking, so when we're away from home, it automatically goes into eco mode, and when we approach (distance can be adjusted), it automatically switches to the programmed mode you had set!
It was installed today as a replacement for the Siemens Rev13, which will be used in another house (very positive impressions). So, here we go:
1. The installation is very easy (simple without a boiler). One neutral wire (N), one phase wire (L), one burner command (NO), and one bridge (L) --> (C).
2. Wi-Fi connection. It gave me a little trouble, but everything is fine. I called Legrand customer service and the help was immediate. Pay attention to those who use static IPs. That may be the cause of the difficulty.
3. The app is incredible. User-friendly and informative.
4. I have a reservation about the thermostat sensor because: The measurement it made showed 20C, the same as a mercury thermometer. But there was no way I had that temperature because I had left the windows open and hadn't turned on the radiator all day. The Siemens thermostat showed 16.2C, a more reasonable value. I calibrated it and everything is fine. Since I will buy another thermometer for accurate measurement, we will see if it records the actual temperature.
The only downside is the humidity indication. I noticed that as the temperature dropped, the humidity increased. It was as if they were connected with an algorithm and it didn't record the actual indoor humidity.
For anyone considering buying it, they will be completely satisfied.
Before I bought this one, I also bought the Olympia Electronics BS850 kit. No comparison.
And some tips they sent me from Legrand:
To perform a full reset on the thermostat, follow these steps:
- Remove the front panel.
- Press and hold the bottom right reset button.
- While holding the button, attach the front panel again and wait for 10 seconds.
- Soon, you will hear a noise.
Then, go through the connection and commissioning steps again from the beginning with the thermostat, and watch the video: [insert YouTube link]
