Overall, a nice set for chess - backgammon. I bought it mainly for use as a chessboard. The size is ideal and very convenient, as it is neither bulky nor too small. The chess pieces, although relatively small, are made of heavy plastic. One negative thing I noticed is that some of them are not well smoothed at their base, resulting in a slight issue with their stability. Also, some pieces (mainly the rook and the knight) I believe would be better if they were made slightly larger than they are. As for backgammon, the checkers are made of low-quality wood and are also quite small, as are the dice. From what I observed, it is not coated with varnish or if it is, then it is from a very thin layer. Conclusion: For its price, it is a worthwhile purchase.
