I have gone through 3 tablets from my hands so I have a benchmark. I have been using the iPad for 1 year and I have a complete picture of things.
1) Speed: It is very fast, it has never frozen on me. No matter which application you choose, it opens INSTANTLY.
2) Screen: It is a very good Apple screen. The "retina" as it is called has done a very good job with colors. (Personally, I like warm shades when I have the night shift option on, which adjusts the screen to be warmer during certain hours of the day.)
3) Speaker: Its speaker is stereo and the bass is very powerful. Of course, when the volume is increased, it is logical for the sound quality to deteriorate.
4) Camera/Photos: The camera for a tablet is perfect. Once again, Apple has done a perfect job with HDR. The tones of the colors are as in reality. The only negative is the zoom, but you don't buy a tablet for the camera, let alone for zoom.
5) Durability: Although I am afraid to even leave it on my desk, I believe that in case of a fall it will withstand it as the back is made of aluminum and it will not "crack" or "break," I am not sure about the screen. The only thing for sure is that using a case and a screen protector MUST be done if there are children at home.
6) Battery: It will DEFINITELY last for 2 days with the brightness slightly lower than the middle. The troubles begin when it is connected to the charger as it takes over 3 hours for a full charge.Overall: For €350, I can't say it's worth it. You will only buy it if you want the Apple experience or if you have a voucher.

I used to have a Samsung tablet and also a Huawei one. I use them for work as I have to carry around stacks of pages and notebooks, so I put everything on the tablet and that's it.
The screen is very good, with very good colors. It never freezes, I had it on for about 2 months continuously and it didn't freeze at all.
The downside is that as a first-time Apple user, I realize that you are just a little isolated from everyone else. After 2 weeks of use and in terms of price category, my conclusions are as follows:

For its price, it puts many laptops and 2 3-inchers above its price (I got it for 400 euros due to a voucher but you can find it much cheaper for example from here). I initially want to talk about its performance in terms of speed, which is tremendous given its price. Its A12 processor, although not the latest, covers the majority of tasks that a person can do and everyday browsing. Additionally, iPadOS makes it incredibly smooth and user-friendly. I found functions that I completely neglected in previous Android devices incredibly useful here (main example being multitasking with the view of 2 applications simultaneously). If you are interested, there are also various accessories that can enhance your experience and make it much easier, such as Bluetooth keyboards and mice if you need to use a program like Microsoft Word (which you can use for free here along with the rest of the Microsoft Office programs) and create a small setup reminiscent of a desktop computer, or use the Apple Pencil first generation or a third-party stylus (which I recommend you look into if you are not necessarily interested in drawing and just want it for notes) in order to take notes, draw, or simply do endless scrolling. I mainly use the tablet to take notes, zoom, use social media, listen to music, and occasionally play games, in which activities it fully covers me. As long as I have it with me, I completely neglect my Android phone and only deal with it due to how wonderful it is to use, and it is the main reason why I am considering going fully Apple. Additionally, it is quite lightweight, although I haven't touched a tablet for a long time so I don't know the weight at which such devices range nowadays. Also, the battery is tremendous and with moderate use, it often lasts up to 3 days easily. However, it is tragic that such a device nowadays has 32GB as the initial storage option and not 64GB as the first storage option, and it is definitely preferable to get the 128GB version even if it seems like a lot. Overall, it is a very good choice as a laptop replacement and it covers the average population for whatever such a device could be used for.

First time I got an iPad as a laptop replacement. So far, I had all the tablets in parallel with the laptop, mainly for content consumption. After almost two months of use, I have formed a fairly mature opinion. The iPad does some things very well, some mediocre, and some not at all. I won't go into details because there are hundreds of videos on YouTube that explain in detail what it does and what it doesn't do.
Nevertheless, if someone wants it mainly for content consumption and not for content creation, it is much better than many Android tablets, purely for its continuous support for many years, but also for the lack of glitches (in the last decade, I changed 4 Android tablets, updates stopped every 1-2 years). Browsing, email, music, videos, and even heavy games are easily handled without ever asking for more within reasonable limits. The screen is very good for its price category and the speakers are decent.
On the other hand, for content creation, for those lucky enough to "sit" on their needs, they won't even need a laptop. With GarageBand, you can work wonders in music, in video editing it surpasses laptops worth 800-900-1000 euros, and it even has CAD design programs that, although paid, are exceptional with the help of a Pencil.
Overall, for general use, it is excellent, for specific use and as a laptop replacement, one should search to see if there are apps for the areas that interest them. I haven't used it as a gaming machine to see how the battery performs under pressure, but as a work laptop and content consumption device, it lasts for ten hours of continuous use. Personally, I combined it with a Logitech keyboard case and the same company's crayon pencil, and it works wonders. Prefer the version with 128GB. I filled up 32GB on the first day alone. If I could, I would give it 4.5 stars for some small things that I didn't like...
Positives:
- Considering it is Apple's budget series, I say it is worth every penny. It is very fast for simple tasks (office 365, browsing, Netflix, notes on goodnotes 5).
- It is incredibly convenient if you are a student, as it allows you to take notes on PDFs, saving you time from copying everything and keeping everything in one place without having to carry notebooks and books.
- It is incredibly lightweight and portable, and its battery lasts 1-1.5 days with heavy use (I personally write notes almost all day and it lasts that long), so you can take it anywhere without worrying about the battery dying.
Now for the negatives...
- Although its screen has a very good resolution, it has one downside. It is not laminated, which means there is a gap between the glass and the internal screen, and when you write with the Apple Pencil, it appears as if you are writing "above" where the ink is displayed.
