The harmony of music constitutes the first part of a larger study with the general title The tonal music system, which includes in its second part the Counterpoint of music. The harmony of music presented in this first book follows a progressive way of presenting the topics of traditional harmony, starting from what a chord is and ending with how some of the main homophonic compositions are made, such as Variations, Sonata, etc.

Wanting to avoid the simultaneous presentation of rules and exercises that might create some confusion for the reader, we decided to divide the content of the book into two separate and self-contained parts.
