The Powertech HDMI Bi-Direction switch 2 to 1 CAB-H112 switch makes it possible to connect 2 HDMI devices to one screen. It supports HDR, HDMI port selection with a button, resolution up to 3840 x 2160 @60 Hz, and no external power supply is required.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
One port seems to have a problem, as it causes one of the two screens it is applied to to flicker intermittently. Not recommended.
For the money, it's a 5/5. It just does some weird things like not switching devices sometimes when both devices are open. I use it for switching between my personal PC and work PC, so it doesn't bother me. It also seems to draw power even when the devices are closed, which is equally suspicious (the LED lights up brightly). But for the price, I would still buy it.
It does its job just fine. I just needed to replace the cable with a better one in the output because otherwise the image was a bit distorted. But other than that, it's perfect.
I have used it for switching between images on the same screen (PC and Nintendo Switch to monitor) and for switching between images on two screens (PC to monitor and TV).
It works as advertised but has a slight delay when switching images.
Also, I personally don't like the button as it seems very cheap compared to the rest of the construction, which is quite sturdy and has some weight to it.
Other than that, it is good for what it is and I recommend it if you need an affordable and fast solution
I have bought two for use on computers. It does work, but with some issues. For switching between two computers to one monitor, you may need to press the button 2-3 times to display the image on the screen. I plan to replace them soon with something better. Of course, for the price it costs, we shouldn't analyze it too much... If you need something cheap for use on a television, etc., it's fine. But for use on a monitor/computer, I wouldn't recommend it.
This device allowed electricity to pass to a second device, which was not even plugged in at the time (in the dock of the Nintendo Switch). Fortunately, no permanent damage was caused, but I cannot trust it again.
Although I considered it unlikely to happen, as I read in another review with one star, where the person said that the computer fans were spinning, I ended up experiencing it myself. Obviously, it passes electricity to the second device, which is dangerous.
I use it to share the same HDMI port of the screen between two devices, it works perfectly in 1080 resolution. Obviously, for the functionality I mentioned, 3 HDMI cables are required.
It's great for switching from one screen to another, meaning it serves its purpose well and covers me perfectly. It functions correctly and allows for fast switching, without requiring extra power supply and at an affordable price.
Now, if some people get confused with all of this and need to simultaneously connect one source to two or more screens, then they should look into the HDMI splitter category.
In combination, all of these can greatly accommodate you!
Although I bought it for a Full HD monitor that only has one port, I tried it on a 4k monitor as well. There, it only outputs 4k resolution at 30 Hz, which is essentially useless. Some stores wrongly claim that it supports 4k@60Hz. Also, the product itself is misleading by stating 4k, as you cannot use the monitor for a PC at 30Hz.
It does what it promises. Without any power supply, you switch between HDMI devices. And very good price
Very easy to install and use.
You can connect one screen to two devices easily and switch between them whenever you need to.
Very simple (one button switch), very fast and I use it constantly without any problems. I constantly switch the source from PC to PlayStation because I almost eliminated the computer monitor.
It works incredibly with the press of a button. I have two HDMI ports, which is perfect if the screen has fewer ports than you need. No more plugging and unplugging.
It does what it says. Simple passive switch that also has an indicator for which input is active.
It does its job perfectly fine and changes sources with the button, even though it doesn't have the Powertech logo.
It does what it says, easily and simply. You press its one and only button and voila! It switches to the other device. And it doesn't even need a power supply.
It works very well and frees you from the hassle of plugging and unplugging cables. You simply press a button and choose the input!
It does what it describes very easily. I used it to switch between 2 different TV subscription providers and it works perfectly. I recommend using high-quality HDMI cables and not cheap ones because then you won't know if the device or the cables are to blame
Many times, on a 4K screen/TV, it doesn't work (it has screen issues and freezes). You connect and disconnect it, and maybe it will work. The cables might also be to blame...
It does exactly the job it wants. The speed at which the switch is made from input to input is very fast. Satisfied with the purchase, I have connected it to switch from my laptop to my desktop.
I have had it for about 2 months now, it does the job perfectly for which it is intended (desktop and laptop on the same screen).
I have had it for about a month. I have connected a desktop and a laptop to one monitor and it is quite good, as well as the resolution. Sometimes it may take a while to display the image, but I haven't given up on it as the image switching between desktop and laptop is not frequent.
It does what it says. Better than a splitter if you don't want the image on two screens at the same time (which usually doesn't work perfectly) and with the advantage of bidirectional input/output usage (either from 2 sources to 1 screen, as presented, or from 1 source to 2 screens, as I use it). I didn't have a 4K source/screen, so I don't know its performance at this resolution. A good cable is necessary (I had an issue with one screen until I changed the cable).
Because some people are confused about what the product offers:
It is a switch device for 2 HDMI cables in 1 without working simultaneously, so there is a switch that activates only one port out of the two.
If you have 2 HDMI cables for one port and you don't want to keep plugging and unplugging HDMI because it tires you and potentially damages the ports, then get this.
It helps in the following scenarios:
A) You have a TV or projector with only one free HDMI port, but two devices like a console and a decoder, so with this switch, you can press a button and switch between the two signals.
B) You have two monitors but only one image source, like a computer, and you want to alternate the signal: sometimes on the main monitor and sometimes on the big living room one. This is a rarer case, but it can be done with this switch.
Attention: If you want two monitors from one source simultaneously, this switch won't work for you, and you need to look for a splitter
It does what it says without any problems and at a very good price. With 2 computers and 1 monitor, it has served me perfectly.
Sturdy construction, as it is made of metal. I have connected it to have simultaneous connection of two devices (desktop and Raspberry Pi) to one monitor. It works flawlessly!
It's garbage! Connected to the PS4 and PC, with the computer closed and the PS4 on, it provided power to the computer's fans and they constantly moved back and forth. After that, it burned the RGB of the liquid cooling. It went where it deserved, in the trash!
Metal construction, it has been installed to allow switching between systems (from desktop to laptop). So far, it has not presented any problems and appears to be working perfectly.
Exactly what I was looking for.
It accepts two inputs and outputs one, I use it for two laptops on an external monitor and I am very satisfied.
Note that it does not include cables and does not require any external power supply.
The only negative is that when you press the input switch button, there is a relatively long delay of seconds to change the screen.
