Overall, it is a wonderful multi-tool for work and entertainment. I bought it last September 2023 for about 1900 euros. It may seem expensive to some, but with this money you get a high-performance all-in-one PC that includes:
- An incredible 5K retina display that may initially shock you with its size (27" wide), but it is more than ideal for movies, videos, video and photo editing, gaming, etc.
- An i7 processor with Radeon Pro 5500XT graphics card, note that you can install both Windows and macOS and choose which operating system to start with.
- It has an HD camera for video calls, HD microphones, very good, deep, and relatively powerful sound.
- It has many ports compared to newer models.
If someone wonders why I didn't buy the newer model that was released at the same time, it was because, on the one hand, it was not available in 27 inches, the new generation of Mac processors compared to Intel was not tested, it had fewer ports, and overall I didn't see anything significant as an upgrade even though the new models were at lower prices.
As a negative point, I could only say that it bothers my eyes a bit, I feel them a bit tired after a few hours of use, especially in the beginning, even though I have adjusted the brightness and blue light filter. For this reason, I am thinking of buying an extra screen-eye protection filter.
It is good to see the 27-inch wide screen somewhere up close before you buy it because it is huge, it is quite a heavy computer, I think 27 kilograms, it requires a lot of desk space and a specific distance so that it does not tire you after prolonged use. Especially if you come from laptops with small screens, the difference may seem chaotic.
It's a beast. I did put 32GB of RAM on it because 8GB wasn't enough. I also got a 1TB SSD to add extra stuff.
It's perfect for work, programming, editing, etc. It may have temperature issues if it encounters something unusual, but it's due to turbo boost - for example, I reached 98 degrees CPU, but it has good thermal handling.
I've also installed a second boot with Windows to play games and everything is Gucci (whoever does it should install Mac's fan control).
The screen is flawless, I have nothing to complain about.
