I have had it for about 2 weeks, I bought it for a newborn after extensive research/reviews on English/American mainly sites, given that I wanted a forehead thermometer and not an ear one (because it is difficult to place in a baby's ear at night or during sleep).

I bought it because the above research presented it as a precise thermometer compared to most competitive products that are considered to have limited accuracy/have large deviations in consecutive measurements.

The times I have used it (btw the usage is easy/1 click), I have noticed that the deviation in the measurement after 1-2 minutes is max 0.2 degrees - so the measurements are consistent. I haven't tested it yet only in comparison with an armpit thermometer.

  One star because there is no minus! The thermometer is absolutely tragic! Even if it cost one euro, it's not worth buying! I thought all this time that it simply had a deviation of 0.6-0.7 units and showed us a normal temperature of 36.1 for everyone, but when I checked my children and it showed 36.3, we actually had a fever! I couldn't explain the temperature, and after months I bought a simple electronic armpit thermometer and I see that while this one said 36.6, my daughter was burning with fever and I calculated that she must have had up to 37.5, but in the end, she had 39.4! Ridiculous!

  I have been trying for 4 months. I'm throwing it away today! And I don't understand how it can have 150,000 good reviews on other sites.

  Before I blame someone, I have to say that I may have received a defective product.

  Apart from the fact that if you leave it unused for 1 month, it needs batteries:

  If the child doesn't have a fever, it's okay! It shows 36.4-36.5, it looks nice, you see it, you admire it, it's okay!

  If they do have a fever, you have to have the thermometer in the same room for 10 minutes before taking measurements, you have to take measurements with a very steady hand (your own) and head (patient's), you have to take 50 measurements at 1.00236cm, center, temples, right, left, top, bottom, and calculate the average.

  Attention: If you only measure in the center, the deviation in a child with a fever is consistently more than 1.5 degrees lower.

  Well.. then you also put it under the armpit to confirm that you didn't do the measurement very well or that you did it approximately well!

  I bought it for 43 euros when here the price was around 60++. I have two young children, aged 2 and 4, so I considered it necessary, especially for nighttime measurements. For accuracy in measurements, you need to have it in the same room as the thermometer for at least 15 minutes, and from there on, I did the following... I used a mercury thermometer on the child, saw the result, and then started scanning his forehead until I found the right spot and distance that matched the mercury thermometer. It has a deviation of about +/- 0.2 degrees - nothing! Fast and quiet. You scan, press and hold the button, and as soon as you feel the vibration, you have the measurement. The LED is quite bright and has great clarity even in complete darkness. It operates with two simple AAA batteries.

  I bought it on sale for 30 euros and it saved us. Excellent tool and over time you gain experience in using it - as infrared thermometers are very unique in their use. By reading the comments, I understood that the key to accuracy in measurements is to have it in the same space as the people you want to measure for 5-10 minutes, and it will work very well and reliably! We measure at a distance of about 2 cm above the forehead between the eyes. Also, you measure 3-4 times in a row in a few seconds and you can almost accurately determine the temperature of the person. It requires proper use and will be an excellent aid, especially for nighttime measurements.

  Well, usually people buy these thermometers for the convenience they offer when taking measurements on small children. Especially babies who don't sit still with a thermometer under their armpit and as a parent you are anxious and want to measure the temperature every half an hour...

  After many tests, I concluded that it can have accuracy only under certain conditions. The distance from the forehead must be specific, you must have your hand relatively still, and it must be in a specific spot on the forehead (right in the center and slightly lower).

  If you manage to do that, the deviation from a mercury thermometer will be small. Otherwise, the deviation will be quite large. This means that it is easy to take measurements on adults and yourself, but difficult on a baby, unless they are sleeping.

  So, to avoid excessive expectations from readers, from my own experience, the thermometer only works under the above conditions.

  In the positives, I can include that it is very easy to use, high quality, and quiet so the child doesn't wake up while taking measurements.

  In general, I understood that the other models have the same disadvantages. I don't know if there is any model, even an expensive one, that provides very accurate measurements without much attention from the user.

  So, to summarize, I use it constantly but when the child has a fever, I also use an armpit thermometer. When there is no fever and it feels right with my hand, then I also use this thermometer for confirmation. When I use it, I also take several measurements for certainty. When there are no significant deviations, then I accept the measurement as true.

  Update:
  After a year and a half of use, today is the third time I am changing the batteries. By the way, I always use the best alkaline batteries. For some reason, when I haven't used it for more than a month, the thermometer consumes the batteries and at the moment I need it, I have to change them. For this reason, I lowered another star, so now my rating is two stars.

  Overall, I do not recommend it.

  In the tests I did on myself, my wife, and the baby, I saw that there is a stability of measurements without deviations from measurement to measurement. Compared to the mercury thermometer, it shows 0.2 higher. It takes about 2 seconds to measure, its construction is solid and sturdy. So far, it seems that I can trust it, of course, it is still under investigation, if there is anything, I will come back.

  I return on 24/11/22: If we consider that you cannot trust any forehead thermometer no matter how expensive it is, then I would say that it is good compared to others. Forehead thermometers are only to see if there is a fever, but for the accuracy of measurements, I have taken an armpit thermometer from master aid which has much better accuracy. However, after tests on my two-year-old child, I found that if the measurement is taken high on the forehead (and not low as the instructions say) then the measurement is usually more accurate with a deviation of 0.4 units downwards. That is, if I see a reading of 37.5, I consider it to be 37.9 and the confirmation or not comes from a measurement with the armpit thermometer that follows. Of course, when a child is sleeping, you try low and high and everywhere many measurements to draw, let's say, a conclusion about whether it is worth waking them up or not. It is like all forehead thermometers, purely for secondary and supportive, never for primary. I hope I helped.

  Update 2024: I don't know if it broke, the baby was burning and it showed 36.9, with the armpit thermometer I measured it was 38.8. Goodbye! Trash

  I have done countless tests in the last 2 years + the fact that I own it and it has not been inaccurate. By tests, I mean continuous measurements from the same distance with the same call. If I hold it like a banana, yes, it will show an invalid measurement. Friendly.

  The problem is the user's expectation with the experience/result. In one or two more generations, these will have been perfected (in terms of ergonomics).

  I constantly read about thermometers that show different temperatures with each measurement. Well, this gem with its simple operation is stable in its measurements, accurate and without unnecessary luxuries. You approach the forehead, press the button, feel the vibration, and you have taken the temperature. And if it seems a bit expensive to you, I think it's worth every euro!
