  The ultimate machine. Even in the 6, which is its most aggressive setting, it remains super friendly but also incredibly efficient. The build quality and style are amazing. Overall, if someone wants to buy just one machine, it is a fantastic choice. There is also the 6C with chrome, which is not made of steel, it is quite cheaper and does the job equally perfectly.

  My first and eternal love. I bought it when I first started shaving with this type of razor, after recommendations that it is suitable for beginners. Now that I have enough experience with many razors, soaps, and several other machines, it's time to write a few things, maybe help someone decide whether to get it or not.

  First of all, let's say that the first impression is that it is a premium product. Both the leather box and its accessories, the way they have placed them, the welcome card, all add an additional quality and grace to the already high-quality stainless steel machine.

  It has three interchangeable plates, which depending on the side we put, change the amount of blade exposure, thus the depth of the shave. Two sides, three plates, we have to choose the depth of shaving from 1 to 6, with 6 giving the most aggressive shave. The instructions also help one understand what is going on. To put it simply, one number per day of shaving, for example, 4 days unshaven, plate number 4, etc.

  The grip is fantastic as it has enough texture on the handle, helping the machine not to slip from our hands as we shave and water and soaps run on our hands. The weight is also very well balanced, with enough weight on the handle, leaving the head of the machine light enough not to press the skin as it shaves.

  Now let's get to the essence, the blades. Because the machine is not aggressive, you will need a sharp blade for a close shave. Forget about derby, Wilkinson, etc., you will need ten passes from each point and you will irritate your skin. For me, the most suitable blades are Gillette Nacet and Permasharp. In second place are the blades that come with it, Rockwell and Gillette Blue. Generally, the blades have a lot to do with the skin, the frequency of shaving, and how many times we use them. Parenthesis, the Feather blades did not sit well with me at all, although I use them in another open type machine and they are great. Not here. Generally, the machine requires a lot of experimentation and countless combinations of plate and blade numbers. Each combination changes the behavior of the machine.

  Let's also mention two negatives regarding the black matte version (which is by far the nicest). First, its price, at least 30% higher compared to the silver one, and that it gets very dirty from the soaps. It is constantly foggy with a white residue from the soap dust. Of course, it cleans with a dry cloth, but we said we would spend a quarter on shaving, let's not spend another quarter on cleaning.

  P.S.: For friends who complain that it gets clogged, I honestly don't understand them. It has never clogged for me. Unless they shave a week's worth of beard with the number 1 plate, what can I say. For other friends who say it wears out, after a good cleaning, it's like new for me. Look at the photos, the fogging I'm telling you about and how it happened after I cleaned it to take more.

  P.P.S.: If you want a very cheap and beautiful stand for the machine, get the Muhle RH6 and drill a hole in the base with a drill (see photo).

  In no case is it worth its money. Construction-wise, it has problems with the gap, with one corner being different from the other on the same edge. Unacceptable for a product of this category. I returned it and on the next one, the head did not screw all the way, resulting in it "playing" quite a bit.

  One of the top safety razors that exist, if not the top. It generally has a "gentle" character, as even the most aggressive setting (the sixth) is not so... aggressive. It is the appropriate tool that combines multiple shaving options and durability over time. Of course, it is also beautiful! I would say that the Edwin Jagger DE89 and Merkur 34C are at the aggression levels of settings 3/4. If you have made your "journey" into the world of traditional shaving, have tried some razors, and want to... reach an Ithaca, that one can easily be called Rockwell 6S!

  Awesome machine. It has 3 plates for 6 different shaving levels.

  It's a bit pricey but worth it.

  Positives:
  - Gives a very good shave from plate 4 and above with 1-2 passes.
  - Very smooth.
  - Requires effort to cut yourself.
  - It's stainless steel.
  - It's like having 6 machines.

  Negatives:
  - If you want to do one pass with 6 and one pass with 2, you have to change the head, meaning unscrewing, screwing, removing the blade, etc. You can't directly adjust from 6 to 4 like other adjustable razors.
  - Cost. Quite discouraging. With this money, you can get a Merkur 34c for everyday shaving and a Muhle r41 (which requires a lot of attention) for weekend shaving, and with the rest, you can get a quality cream/soap (Dr Harris, Castle Forbes, Tobs, etc.).
  - It doesn't give a very close shave (like the r41) even at level 6, although with 2-3 passes it gets close.

  Although I haven't tried many adjustable razors, I found this one to be excellent. Even at level 6, it gives you the confidence that you won't get cut. It is well-balanced in weight and made of good material to last a lifetime (time will tell). Also, with a good blade, it doesn't cause irritations.

  As for the cost, I consider it a bit expensive and prohibitive for someone who is just starting with traditional shaving. Fortunately, there is a cheaper model with the same heads but made of a different material.

  Unfortunately, after several shaves, one of the plates doesn't provide the same shaving experience on both sides. It's a big disappointment considering the amount of money I spent.
