For the money, it's definitely worth it! In a living room of about 18 square meters, the sound fills the space perfectly! Of course, it also matters where the movie is being played from, for example, from a DVD/Blu-ray disc, online streaming, or torrent files that are often compressed and result in loss of sound/image quality. It is recommended to choose larger file sizes, for example, 10-20GB and above, with features that include Dolby Digital 5.1 (again, if properly uploaded, as it matters how it was uploaded - some may upload it with higher volume, while others with lower volume, so try different files and see). Alternatively, you can watch from a DVD/Blu-ray or a streaming service like Netflix/Prime Video/Kodi, etc., and you'll see that it works perfectly fine!
Note: Surround sound in a movie does not mean that it should be loud from all speakers! The correct way (as in the cinema) is for the dialogue to be heard from the center speaker (i.e., the soundbar with 3 speakers), and the effects from the two rear speakers and the subwoofer. This means that the dialogue will be slightly lower and the effects louder!
Owner of the bar for 2 weeks now. The positive aspects of the bar are its very good build quality, the very long cables over 8 meters for the small speakers and over 2.5 for the bar to connect with the sub. Also, the types of connections that work great. It has been connected to a JVC LT55 K800 with HDMI ARC. The bar is top for movies and gaming. As for the negatives, the music is not its strong point. If you don't have special requirements, it's okay. However, for the settings, the rear speakers should be set to +6 and the sub to +9. A basic detail for it to work properly is that the rear speakers should be placed in front of the bar at a height of 1 meter from the floor and not all together, otherwise goodbye surround... for 199 euros, it is the best in its category with the Sony signature
I bought it yesterday, 7/9/2021, and I'm returning it today. Maybe I was swayed by the 400W, the 5.1, the good reviews... The bass intensity is nonexistent even at max, and the rear speakers can't be heard. Okay, if you raise the volume to the maximum, then something happens, but no one watches a movie with the volume on max. At a normal volume level, I was trying to figure out if there's a difference in sound compared to the TV's. It might be satisfactory for a small room, but not in a living room.
I bought it a few days ago and I am very satisfied with its performance and sound. I mostly got it to enjoy the movies I watch in combination with a Sony Bravia TV. Now, as far as music is concerned, I can say that it is reliable. Take some time to adjust it properly. It has an easy menu. Very good value for money.
I bought them today, 27/12/2020, and I am amazed by the sound they have, whether it's for music, movies, or games. The bass is incredible, it feels like being in a cinema... When you connect your phone to the speaker and play Spotify, the sound quality is not as good. However, if you play it from your TV, the sound is not affected. I don't know why it happens, but they are awesome!
At the price of €180 that I bought it, I consider it to be a very good choice. It connects easily and its performance is very good both in movies and in music. It has long cables for connecting the 2 speakers, so you can place them behind you.
For the money, it does what it should in movies and at a relatively strong volume. The effects and dialogue sound very good from the soundbar as well as from the wired satellite speakers (5.1). For this reason, I give it 4 stars and recommend it. However, it is not suitable for music as it lacks depth in the lows (the bass produced by the subwoofer is not good, and if you try to increase the volume, it distorts the sound - at most, set it to 8). It also lacks in the midrange (there is no such speaker since we are talking about a soundbar). Its positives include the connection via HDMI ARC (that's how I have it connected to the TV), optical cable, and Bluetooth for mobile or tablet. The remote control is easy to use. As for the negatives, the menu is not great, but once you set it up, you don't really bother with it. Tip: increase the level of the satellites to +6.00 for a fuller listening experience. Finally, it has a very nice appearance (like every Sony device).
It is a wired soundbar 5.1ch - 400W. I have connected it under the TV and I have placed the 2 small speakers it has behind me to have the feeling of Surround in order to enjoy my favorite movies and series on Netflix. I have connected it to the TV via HDMI(ARC) to get louder volume, but it also has connections via analog input and optical fiber. Recently, I have also watched the knock-out matches in the Champions League and Europa League where the voices of the sportscasters sounded clear. Of course, I have also tried the soundbar's ability in music either from my mobile or from the TV and I was quite satisfied. In general, I can say it has powerful and impressive sound.
