For its category, it plays without rival.
Huge autonomy (it might be the best in its category), powerful bass and quite dynamic. It covers a wide range of music genres and movies. Ideal for the beach, yards, balconies, but also for indoor use as an everyday speaker. Sound-wise, it definitely cannot be compared to hi-end sound systems, but for the intended use (and the portability it offers), I haven't heard anything better for this price.
It connects easily with Android phones and Windows 10/11 laptops that have been tested. It is likely to be equally compatible with Apple devices.
So far, it hasn't caused me a single problem and I usually forget about charging, thanks to its huge autonomy.

It is a very good speaker with powerful bass and clear sound. The only problem I had was that I had it in a place with humidity and in the morning I saw it like you see it in the photos. I took it to JBL and they told me they couldn't cover it under warranty. Then I put it in the sun and it got fixed. It probably doesn't like humidity even though it can withstand 30 minutes underwater according to JBL
The product is undeniably very good. Perhaps unique in its category, BUT...
I bought it 5 months ago and it has broken 3 times! It takes 10-20 days to go to service and there is no mention of replacement! I imagine it will continue like this until the warranty expires and then I will have to pay for the damages in addition to the inconvenience...
Well, personally, I would like something even more powerful in the end, but since it's JBL and I have many, I see that this one will be immortal like the others, just a little if it slips out of your hands and falls. The speaker is very good. You have very good sound quality in a portable speaker. Powerful bass and clear sound. It also has an app to customize it as you wish. I recommend it

The speaker confuses you in sound at first, because when you first hear it, the sound quality is very dull.
Luckily, I cut it off and thought to download its app and now the sound is almost excellent with the simple settings that the equalizer gives you.
Think that I was ready to return it because of the huge difference in sound quality with the go&play.
Between the two, which I consider to be the top portable speakers I have ever had, I have to say the following...
The go&play is an all-terrain speaker that will simply leave you satisfied outdoors, while indoors it almost breaks glass and sounds crystal clear, both in terms of sound and bass. And you constantly think of carrying it with you because it fits relatively comfortably in the trunk of the car.
The boombox 2 is also an all-terrain speaker but it is not very practical due to its large size and weight.
It discourages you from constantly moving it in all your activities (e.g. on the beach volleyball court where I engage).
As a sound, it is slightly inferior to the Harman Kardon, but if you don't have both to compare, you won't notice it.
The bass is impressive for outdoor use, compared to the go&play which is simply satisfactory (clearly I have not regretted a moment when I bought it and I still have it).
However, it is worth transitioning to the boombox 2 because it is a (in my opinion) complete portable speaker where, due to its long battery life and subwoofer, you have to sacrifice volume and weight.

(I returned the specific one I bought because it had a construction problem. It was creaking on one side when I played some dance progressive tracks with just 50% volume. I will get a refund and buy the same one from another store to see if it was indeed an isolated incident or if it is made that way, so we might have a problem then. I will come back with an update)
Update...
The second speaker from another company has arrived, purchased this time.
It shows the same construction problem, but on the other side this time. In the previous speaker, it was heard from the left, now it is heard from the right.
Try the music track "Baba city" (original mix) and go to 01:20. I, for one, am returning this one as well (unfortunately) and luckily I didn't rush to give away the go&play that I have!
The speaker was purchased in July 2021 and since then I have used it extensively. This speaker has endured falls, hits, sea, rain, and scratches. The volume is sufficient for indoor and outdoor parties. The sound quality is excellent, with crazy bass, and I believe no speaker in its category can surpass it. I bought it for 370 euros and I am waiting for the price to drop again to buy a second one. The only downside is that it can be difficult to move
Jbl = guaranteed crystal clear sound! Anyone who disagrees has no idea about sound. Especially for hip hop, minimal, and the like... leave it, you get what you give.

I have had it for about 6 months, the speaker is very good, I bought it for around €330, it's worth the money. Well, since I have listened to the boombox 1 and 2, I have to say that:
1. They have exactly the same battery.
2. In my opinion, you don't need the outdoor and indoor mode of the first model because the bass of the new one increases linearly as the volume increases, with the bass continuing to increase even after reaching 80% of the volume.
3. It sounds more "accurate" than the first model, with deeper bass and reaching very low frequencies in the bass, which is very nice to the ear without being annoying or tiring.
For those who say they made a better speaker for €200, they are simply ridiculous because in this speaker, you are not only paying for volume, but also for sound quality and construction + the fact that it is waterproof + the fact that it is easily portable + the fact that at 50% volume (which is more than enough for indoors), you have 24 hours of battery life.
So, the speaker you can make for €200 may have more volume, but it will lack in all other aspects. And one last thing, if you don't care so much about the easy portability of the speaker, you might want to consider the partybox from jbl.
Same as 1, just heavier and with fewer capabilities, not worth the money. I made my own with 200€, better
I'm telling you, the JBL boombox 2 has exactly the same sound as the JBL boombox 1, which is 60W... I couldn't notice any difference and actually, I think the Boombox 1 is slightly louder. Besides that, the JBL boombox 2 doesn't have an indoor/outdoor button, which I found very useful in the boombox 1. Also, the battery of the Boombox 2 is 10000 mAh while in the boombox 1 it is 20000 mAh, which means that with 80W speakers in the 2, the battery will last much less. Additionally, the Boombox 1 has two charging ports, while the 2 only has one. Finally, the 1 is lighter and smaller than the 2, and personally, the design of the 1 is much more beautiful. I do not recommend this speaker for any reason... It is a much more expensive copy of the JBL boombox 1 which has fewer features and worse performance.
Guys, it's really amazing that the best portable speaker is 80w. The sound it produces is crystal clear and the bass is excellent. It's worth every penny, 100%. Guys, there is a big difference in sound compared to the boombox 1. It's much more powerful. It's worth €499
