Starting recently a low-fat diet, I decided to try the preparations with vegetable fibers as well...
It definitely does its job and it's worth it, but personally, because I want something more substantial, I use it in combination with some wholemeal flour (spelt or ZEA type, small quantities, e.g. up to 2 tablespoons/day, in proportion), along with other low-fat products (other vegetable fibers like oats/wheat bran, or milk protein, etc.), or even oat/bran.
Because in a diet that you have to do for a long time (months, or even years), it gets tiring.
It doesn't have any taste, which is positive, but when it comes to using it as bread, or making a pizza base, it is quite dry on its own and tasteless, even with the addition of spices.
The combination is definitely needed and personally, I like it more when I add a little low-fat cheese in the dough.
Anyway, as a solution for a diet, it is very good!!
And of course, I will buy it again - several times, as long as I have a long way ahead of me: I have already lost about 8 kilos, but I still have another 28... ;-)Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?I have been using this product for years. It is the best ready-made flour substitute. I use it for bread, cookies, cakes, crepes, pancakes, and soufflés. Additionally, it is excellent for 5-minute mugcakes in the microwave (3-4 minutes preparation, 1-2 minutes baking on full power). It rises quite well on its own (as much as a low carb flour can rise), but you can give it an extra boost by adding a little baking powder.
