    Unfortunately, this specific hard drive failed within 6 months of operation due to bad sectors. I have requested a replacement, but we will see how it progresses. Generally, I have never experienced something like this with WD and it is disappointing that they mention sending you a "re-certified" hard drive instead of a "brand new" one.

    Update 10/12/20: After approximately one month, WD sent me a replacement hard drive, which has been functioning satisfactorily for 2 months now.
