Well, the lens is simply amazing. Incredibly fast, high quality, and excellent image quality. It's truly addictive because it gives you fantastic options with its range from 24 to 70 millimeters. For someone who photographs in situations they can't control, such as weddings, receptions, etc., it's truly the top choice and essential.
As for the "negatives," I will say the following:
It is heavy, if you use it all day, you will feel it. It's not a problem for a few hours though.
And because it's f/2.8, obviously it's not for very dark conditions. Although it's not fair to say that as a negative.
Coming from the gmaster 24-70, I have to say that at this specific focal length, the Sigma "outperformed" the gmaster, which is why Sony rushed and released another lens to fix the previous one, increased the price a bit, and voila, a "sigma" for two and a half thousand euros.
So, in the sigma lens, perfect AF, perfect color rendering, fantastic sharpness, very nice feel, creamy bokeh, price is a steal, construction quality is simply the best, weight is terrible, it's a heavy lens, overall the sigma has an issue with weight and it might be the only drawback I find in this lens. So don't think twice, if you want such a lens size, just go to a store and buy it without any second thoughts, you will have a nice addition to your collection.
Have a great time and happy shooting!!
