Cheap, I have seen better construction, BUT for heavy home use (we are computer geeks) it does its job without any problems/freezes. In other words, for what I wanted it for, PERFECT!
It is gigabit Ethernet, but internally the link speed is 2gbps. This means that even if transfer occurs between 2 devices with 1gbps, the rest will still have 1gbps speed. I haven't touched it for 2 weeks now. Transfer reaches about 870-980mbps, meaning perfect.
Update: 4 stars because it freezes 2-3 times a month and there is no internet. It needs to be unplugged and plugged back in.
edit: after calls to wind, cable changes, swearing and frustration, it was this switch's fault and it was causing the internet to freeze all the time. I broke it in half.
And for the defenders of tp-link, you will experience it at some point
pure scam I have a 200mbps connection when I connect the computer from the switch I get 100. When I connect the computer directly to the router I get 200. Update it was the cables that were to blame even though all were labeled cat5e in the end they have differences in thickness. the thick ones are the good ones
Good so far. It is still too new to say about durability. Very easy to connect. Satisfied.
It is very small and works like a clock. It also has holes to hang on the wall. It achieves gigabit speeds effortlessly. Everything is good!
Very good and stable. It never needed a restart. However, being plastic, its durability for portable use may not be desirable
Just plug and play. It's simply lightweight, and if you fill it with cables from the back, you might need to support it somewhere so it doesn't look strange.
8-port and extremely small.
Width and height as the doors are.
Otherwise it does what it should.
