The Shoei Glamster 06 is a full-face helmet with a genuine vintage look, without sacrificing the comfort and safety of a modern helmet. It features a fully removable 3D top liner and cheek pads of different densities for an ideal fit, as well as a visor lock with complete sealing to eliminate noise.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
It is beautiful and lightweight (you don't realize you're wearing it) and it goes without saying that the Shoei quality is unbeatable. Ideal for the city as it is small and easy to store, and the noise (due to its limited soundproofing) doesn't bother you when you start running. I wouldn't recommend it for long trips outside the city.
Quality old school helmet for use with a cafe racer motorcycle, it has quite a bit of noise and its ventilation is typical. I've had it for about two years and I'm quite satisfied (What's the pain in front of beauty?) with the use I make of it. It's not suitable for long trips. With low speeds (<120), you enjoy the ride, it also has very good visibility.
I bought it with my reservations... The quality of construction and finishing is at a very high level. It is very lightweight and fits perfectly on my head. It is aerodynamically quite good. Even at 130 kilometers with a short windscreen, the head doesn't move. The noise is increased for a helmet of this price, but it doesn't bother for city use. For a trip on the highway, the problem is solved with earplugs. The ventilation is at a good level, I feel the air circulating correctly on my head, the air vents do their job. The visor has a wide field of vision and the buckle takes some getting used to. I haven't tried the pinlock yet.
The helmet is lightweight and does not strain the neck at all. It does not fog up even though I immediately put on the pinlock. It is beautiful and its sizing is very accurate. My sunglasses, which are made of plastic, press against my head a lot with the helmet, to the point where after half an hour, you have to stop and take them off. The smoke visor is very expensive, which is why I have no intention of buying it. It is definitely not worth the money. The price of the helmet should be around 200-250 euros, definitely not the 439 euros that I paid for it. Even though I have a Triumph T100, I would look for a conventional helmet rather than a retro look.
Update 30/4/22: After at least 3,000 km of use, the helmet is a complete rip-off from Shoei. It shakes like crazy after 70 km/h and you don't feel comfortable, almost thinking that it will fly off. I gave up on it and now wear a helmet that costs 120 euros. It is definitely more stable. I haven't felt this disappointed in a long time. I wasted 440 euros.
Beautiful, compact in size, lightweight with a clever trick to easily remove the helmet in case of an accident, it fogs relatively easily without the pin lock, but when you reach 60, it becomes chaotic due to the noise, which is natural because it is open from the bottom and the lower air vents are permanently open. Personally, it is only suitable for city rides and relatively prohibitive for travel.
I don't have a tremendous experience with helmets, but this helmet is very light and overall very good in terms of materials, etc. It has a double-D ring for locking, which takes a little longer to close, but that's a habit. At speeds around 90-100, it doesn't have much noise and it feels comfortable to me. Especially with the pinlock, it never fogs up and I am generally very satisfied.
Edit. After a while of having it, it's a good city helmet. It has noise at high speeds.
Edit#2. After 2 years, I would say it's not worth it as a helmet. It's only for weekend rides within the city. Mainly for show. And definitely not for summer since it has no ventilation.
Tremendous helmet from Shoei. Beautiful, with simple lines, sturdy and lightweight. The only negative aspect is that due to its lines, it does not have such good aerodynamics, so once you go over 70km/h, you start feeling pressure on your neck. By the way, it also includes a pinlock in the package.
