I bought it for this reason and unfortunately it doesn't stick to the kitchen laminate countertop with the tiles. I tried porcelain. What waterproofing are we talking about? It doesn't stick on its own on a glossy surface. I tried it on the sink with the tile and it doesn't stick at all.

After installation in the bathroom and after 24 hours, the water was passing through the tape. It does not stick well, resulting in it easily coming off with the first water. I do not recommend it.
