Description

What is Class G?

There are two common problems with hi-fi amplifiers. Class A, the traditional choice of sound engineers, uses a single power supply that operates continuously at full capacity, even when there is no signal. It excels at reproducing subtle details at low levels but struggles to provide extreme power when needed. Class A/B, the most common class of amplifiers, alternates between two internal amplifiers, one for each half of the waveform. It is much more efficient but often causes crossover distortion, as the low-level details we seek can get lost in the switching process. Class G is essentially a hybrid amplifier, using Class A specifically for low-level signals, and when required, activates an additional power supply to drive the larger sections of the waveform.

In my possession since October 23rd. In a few words, EXCEPTIONAL.

Plenty of power, doesn't sweat, and I don't think it will struggle with sensitive speakers. Very musical, punchy, and ideal for hours of listening without fatigue.

Very good detail performance without becoming overly analytical, thus making listening enjoyable. Also sounds full even at low volumes for evening listening.

Also, excellent dynamics and overall tone, style, and presentation please me every time I turn it on, resulting in me not being able to leave the living room and stop listening to music.

The software is very stable since it is on the latest firmware version (it was already on the latest version out of the box).

The only thing I haven't tried is its phono stage, as I use a Rega one. But its own supports MC cartridges as well.

Essentially, it does it all, and it does it exceptionally well, and it has everything:

Streaming (Tidal Connect, Chromecast, Airplay, Spotify Connect. Note: I don't use the Arcam app, as I directly use Tidal Connect)

3 RCA inputs for sources, 2 optical & 2 coaxial, and HDMI ARC input for those who want to connect audio from TV/PS5, etc. to the amplifier instead of using optical. And of course, the Phono input (MM and MC)

Finally, it also features Dirac (room correction system) and is highly recommended for a demo with your friendly local hifi dealer, if they have it, with your eyes closed.
