Reviews
A multitool made by a veteran of the genre, Peter Madnick, that may not catch your eye but truly leaves you highly satisfied, despite some details... The construction initially appears a bit lacking, but ultimately deceives as it is a well-made machine with a substantial weight that was built to last for years, albeit a little unappealing to some... Its slim design saves the day... I would have liked a slightly better construction for the volume control and a slightly better remote control... a slightly more impressive screen wouldn't hurt anyone, but let's not overdo it...
Many conveniences and connections are available as the machine is versatile, making the user's life very easy, as this "gem" is a high-end preamplifier that at the same time, in the same device, has a high-end DAC... the icing on the cake is that it also functions as a streamer with Spotify and Roon ready... I would certainly like it to be the same for Tidal and Qobuz...
The final Elac Alchemy DDP 2 definitely represents its ideal match (personally, I have the combination of the two), but it can certainly be combined with others on the market... pay attention to the interconnect cable as a good cable (personally, I preferred XLR) will bring out what these machines truly have to offer...
Its sound is quite neutral, dynamic, analytical, and clean, with full and tight bass, very accurate midrange neither forward nor backward, and precise highs that in no way resemble a digital machine, and after a few hours of burn-in, you wonder where this sound is coming from and you have a smile on your face for your purchase as you can't believe it yourself... it's neither too sweet nor too bright, just right, making it ideal for all types of music and for combinations with different speakers and different styles... in many international reviews, it is praised, equating it with machines of much higher value...
