Excellent toaster/grill!!
I have always liked grilling on flat plates, something that I could only find in sandwich shops with professional toasters.
It is truly a beast, it can fit 4 large club sandwich-sized toasts, it grills evenly and nothing sticks!
For those who say it takes a long time or doesn't toast well, we are talking about a large-sized toaster with 2200W and temperature control, not mini toasters (the ones that fit 2 small toasts) with 700W-800W without a thermostat (they always work at maximum power), which, although they heat up faster due to their small resistance size, can never reach the temperatures that this one can reach.
So, in a reasonable amount of time, the plates reach temperatures where you can grill meat, not just toast, and with the intensity adjustment, you can slowly toast a toast to melt even hard cheese without burning the outside.
I have grilled everything from tortillas (perfectly even grilling on the flat plates) to crepes and omelettes, cheeses like halloumi or talagani, and many more!
With the ability to open 180 degrees, it can be transformed into an electric grill.
It shows quality construction that, with careful use (never using metal spatulas, knives on the metal plates, only wooden or silicone ones), can last for many years.
It is not a toaster for a quick toast, but ideal for a family that needs to grill something more.
If something is missing, it is perhaps the ability to isolate the top plate in case we want to grill something only on one side, I can't think of anything else.
At the €40 I got it on sale, I am very satisfied!
Update: After 2 months, I am still very satisfied!
The only thing I repeat is that great attention must be paid to cleaning the plates as the non-stick coating is particularly sensitive and should NEVER be rubbed with the rough side of the sponge or even worse, with wire! It requires gentle cleaning with warm water and the soft side of the sponge.
Update 2: Because I read quite a few negative comments that do not correspond to reality, I present for the sake of truth photos of... untoasted and burnt toasts #not hahaha
Tip: Because we made it nuclear science, for crispy toasts, we always open and preheat the toaster at MAX and then place the toasts, continuing to toast at the same temperature. We are talking about a matter of 2-3 minutes.
Update 3:
After about 2.5 years of daily use, the plates seem to be nearing the end of their life, losing some of their coating in small areas. Fair enough for the heavy use I put them through, along with some wrong spatulas that were used in need and damaged the coating, as even the best non-stick pans with the most careful use do not last much longer. Advice: try not to forget to turn off the toaster, the very high temperature that develops gradually destroys the coating.
I am waiting to find out the availability and price of spare parts!
