I use them in rehearsal with my band and as a bassist, I have to say that I hardly hear the bass with the gold filters and it generally cuts a lot from the music. On the other hand, I want to generally have hearing until I'm 40 and they do protect against loud noises and the ringing. You give something, you take something, but you definitely lose quite a bit of the experience. The lower filters are better for hearing but they don't protect enough from a guitarist who wants to crank the amp to 11 and a drummer who loves to hit the snare like there's no tomorrow.

For studio use, if the use concerns a singer or bassist, any frequency important for feedback of what you play/sing is lost after the 1st "filter step." Soundproofing isolates well, though, and is scalable.

But anyone who wants to listen and get used to earplugs should start with the white ones first (they cut the least dB). Thanks to these, I leave the club where I work as security (and where I have to listen too) without buzzing and headache / babbling (120 dB in the club++)

They filter out the bad frequencies without "cutting off" the sound, so you hear a cleaner sound and greatly reduce the noises that stay in your ears. Also, you can hear the others who are talking to you better. I have tried to take them off during the music playing and simply put them back on because I couldn't stand the sound.

I expected more from these. The only difference between these and pharmacy sponge ones is that the musicsafe reduce a few dB, but without reducing the highs as much as the 1 euro ones do! You simply have a bit better clarity in the highs. And with the regular ones, you’re just fine! I ordered custom silicone ones with a -20 dB filter.. (200 euros). For those of you who have tinnitus issues, DON’T even think about the Alpine ones. You won't be protected. You should go for custom silicone ones that will cover both the internal ear canal and the larger surface on the outer ear that is right outside the canal.

They are good for music use, generally managing to effectively reduce the volume from all frequencies uniformly, so that you can hear the mix of instruments clearly in the spaces where you play. I never have a problem hearing what others are saying. In a small studio space for band rehearsals, the small filter is more than enough, for clubs and anything louder, the other two cover it. I wonder how I could go so long without these, in extremely noisy environments. They provide very good sound insulation (I wear the silver filter, the gold one is for even greater protection), I can hear the person next to me when they speak, but I can't hear what they're saying from 5 meters away, if they shout, etc. Exactly what I wanted. The case is very good (I read somewhere negative reviews that it looks cheap, in my opinion it's fine). The only negative and "incomprehensible" thing is that it only has 1 spare. why not 2?? The purchase was made for use in concert venues as a spectator. Specifically, I used them at Unite with Tomorrowland where the bass intensity and treble are harmful to a great extent. I put on the gold filters and even though I was almost next to the stage, after almost 10 hours of continuous music. I came home and my ears were not buzzing at all.
I can say that I could hear everything clearly and cleanly, both music and speeches, both from those around me and when the DJs were speaking. It significantly reduced the treble of the music as well as the other frequencies, but not to the extent of not being able to hear anything as I read in comments.
The little thing about their proper placement is unnecessary because I had them permanently with the cord. Just when you put it in your ear, do it gently. As soon as the hook touches the cord, stop. By gently pulling the cord, the earplug comes out. The hook holds very well, without fear of it coming off. It was more than enough to do the job correctly without a lot of noise at the end.
Update 11/8/22 This year I used them at Tomorrowland and Untold and they really saved me. I have had them for many years and the filters still work like the first day. Minimal noise after 10+ hours right under the speakers and next to the stage's subwoofers. They exceeded all my expectations!!!
Update 25/10/2023 This year I used them in Amsterdam at the 5-day music festival (ADE) in big shows (AMF, Awakekings, Martin Garrix Show), but also in clubs where other DJs were playing. The use was quite intense with many hours, all in my ears, most days. The silicone tips had been replaced earlier this year due to natural wear and tear after so many years. I noticed slight sound distortions and not as good frequency absorption (to a small extent) in the gold filters that I only use. In terms of noise, it was imperceptible to none because the sound in all the clubs/shows was crystal clear! It seems that they gradually lose their performance after 4+ years of use. I will continue to use them with the gray filters for another 1-2 years before considering buying them again!!! For their price and the use they have endured, they are definitely worth every penny!!!

Άνετες, ξεχνάς ότι τις φοράς μετά από λίγο, πλέον γυρνάω από συναυλίες χωρίς βουητό στα αυτιά μου. Το εργαλείο που έχει για να τις φοράς "σωστά" δεν μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί ενώ τις έχεις περασμένες στο κορδονάκι, το οποίο είναι λίγο ενοχλητικό.

Εχοντας μάλιστα δει και αρκετούς να φοράνε απλές ωτοασπίδες του εμπορίου, φαντάστηκα οτι με αυτές που είναι ό,τι καλύτερο υπάρχει, θα ακούς μια χαρά τη συναυλία ενώ ταυτόχρονα θα προσταεύεις τα αυτιά σου. Δυτυχώς, όμως δεν ακούς μαζί με τους επιβλαβείς θορύβους και τη μισή μουσική. Χάνεις και τις ψιλές ίσως και τις χαμηλές νότες, ο δε τραγουδιστής δεν ακούς τι λέει απλά φαντάζεσαι. Προφανώς το προιόν απευθύνεται μόνο σε επαγγελματίες του χώρου της συναυλίας, που δεν ενδιαφέρονται για όλη τη μουσική αλλά για κάποια μέρη αυτής, οπότε και κάνουν τη δουλεία τους και δεν βουήζουν τα αυτία τους για 2 μέρες όπως των υπολοίπων.

Κάνει σωστά τη δουλειά του. Βοηθάει κυρίως σε συναυλίες ή σε στούντιο (μουσικής) ώστε να αποφύγεις τα ανεπίτρεπτα decibel. Φοριούνται εύκολα και έχει κορδονάκι να τις κρεμάς στον σβέρκο εφόσον δεν τις φοράς συνεχώς.
