The original story is okay and a bit short.....there aren't many Legendaries.....
HOWEVER, the DLC, and more specifically the Crown Tundra, is the ultimate upgrade to the game....
With almost all the legendaries from previous generations and taking advantage of the new mechanics, you can now easily achieve legendary Shinies.

A beautiful game in a new area! I would give it 5 stars, but unfortunately I believe that only after purchasing the Expansions did I have a complete experience.
I bought it for my 11-year-old daughter who is really into Pokemon and never leaves her room. Whenever I ask her what she's doing, she says she's playing. So you can understand that the game is a must.
I would give it a 4.5/5 but we won't ruin it for half a point. The game is clearly a 9/10! I was late to buy it because I am a big fan of the classic Pokemon, so dynamaxing was my biggest problem. The new Pokemon are average with some exceptions that are better than many old ones!!! The story is something usual but definitely not boring and very engaging. After 4 years (since 18), Pokemon Sword revived a feeling that I hadn't experienced in a long time! It made me want to wake up early in the morning to play the game as if I were a child again. The characters were unique and the team of Pokemon you can create can be fire!!! (meaning very cool and powerful Pokemon at the same time). That's it for the game. It is also recommended for first timers as it shows which moves are effective against certain types of Pokemon. The only real negative thing I note is the lack of legendary and mythical Pokemon since each cartridge only has 3. The rest of the old ones come in DLC only
It is a very beautiful game that is based on the old good formula that Nintendo has had for the Pokemon series for so many years. Personally, I think it's worth the money. I would have liked it to be more difficult because if you strengthen your Pokemon a little, you can easily defeat the gym leaders, something that you didn't have in the old games or required much more strategy. For someone looking for a casual game and has grown up with this series, they won't regret it.
I gave 90 euros with the DLC, knowing that I fell victim to my nostalgia but it doesn't matter, I don't regret it and because I've been away from the series for years, I enjoyed my experience. Just to say a few things.
1) I may be wrong, but the series now may have the largest audience of adults. The game needs to be a bit more demanding and not give you everything on a silver platter. The reason I got hooked on the series was the blood I spat in Emerald to collect 7 silver symbols, which is one of the few games with such a good aftergame. The Battle Frontier has been missing from the series for a long time. It gives a different meaning to the game. The games that don't have it seem like a waste of money to me. Anyway, it's bad that as time goes on, the difficulty decreases. Easy opponents, much lower level in their Pokemon, the legendary ones have an even easier catch rate.
2) They should have all the Pokemon. Removing some Pokemon from the game doesn't make any sense and is insulting to our intelligence and to themselves. Unfortunately, it seems that they have taken a beaten path and from now on they will do it in all their games.
3) The Wild Area is impressive, as are the parts of the DLCs. There are many things to do there and indeed, you don't get bored easily.
4) The 8th generation is nice. The legendaries are quite powerful, it's just that as time goes on, their background is not as great and logical. The 3rd-4th generations covered everything, from the legendary of the land, the sea, the space-time, the parallel universe, creation, etc. There aren't many anymore, but it's okay. Very nice starters and Dynamax is nice and impressive to see.
5) The other negative thing that is a chronic problem of Nintendo is that they never lower the prices. It can't be 1.5 years after I bought it at the same price. The money, objectively, it's not worth it. It's another thing if you give in and buy it.
6) Finally, make a game with voice acting, what else can we ask for?
Very short, mediocre story with a funny evil team (team yell). The animations from the attacks are outdated.

Very expensive, very short in the story... non-existent legendary Pokémon.... they could have included the old legendary Pokémon but nooo only DLC... Eternatus at the end is a terrible Pokémon... only worth it if you want to have all the games. I should have bought the Mew card instead.... it will take you about 5-6 hours.

Personally, I really enjoyed it, I liked the idea of playing Pokémon with modern graphics, breaking away from the old data we were used to. Great battles and interesting new Pokémon. The story may not have been fantastic, but it was satisfactory. The negatives are the price, which could have been lower for what it offers. It could also be a little more challenging and complete as a game.
By far the worst title of the series. We're talking about the first main Pokemon game on a home console and the guys completely let down the entire fanbase. The only good thing about it is the graphics and the music. The creature models may be relatively nice, but the animations are at least nauseating. They simply did a copy-paste from the 3DS without even trying to do something more. Games from 15 years ago have better animations. The whole formula and basis of the game are identical to all previous games in the main series. It's just stripped of any kind of exploration, difficulty, and creativity. The DS games are far superior, there's no comparison. You simply go from point A to point B and collect gym badges. That's the whole game. The cities are small and the routes are excessively short. Completely devoid of anything interesting. Dynamax is by far the worst battle gimmick that has ever existed in a Pokemon game. Completely dumb and empty as an idea. The Pokemon just gets big. That's it. Initially, the game was intended for the 3DS but then they decided to release it only on the Switch. So they added the wild area at the last minute, selling the moving camera as something new, and slapped it with the price of a AAA game. It's laughable. And that's not all, they had to release two expansions for 15 euros each, the content of which should have been included in the game from the start.
It's better to burn the 60 euros than to spend them on this.
When Nintendo first released the first generation of Pokémon games, which were aimed at children, they created one of the most iconic and classic games. In recent years, the Pokémon cartridges have not been able to compete with the old versions, as the level of difficulty has decreased, the story is made with the same recipes, there is not much creativity in the new Pokémon designs, and the gigantamax is a bad concept on its own. Nintendo and Game Freak forget that they carry GENERATIONS of children who have grown up and need something more adventurous. This particular game, despite having the best graphics in a Pokémon game, has the aforementioned characteristics that the gen 6 and onwards bring. As a big Pokémon fan, I am disappointed with this game that unjustly has the Pokémon logo on it

I have bought the cassette about 2 weeks ago and I can say that I was very excited about the story it has, the gameplay, and especially the graphics that I see in specific games. It arrived intact and there was absolutely no issue! I recommend you to buy it, it's worth it.
P.S: I don't remember if it had a guide inside the box or something.
Edit: Something important to know. For online trades, battles, or even raids, you will need to buy the "plus" version that the switch has (economical packages), otherwise you won't be able to.

Very good continuation of Pokémon, generally I really like that it has maintained the same philosophy with new and better graphics and several additions without losing the ball! Quite a few new Pokémon, resulting in not losing your interest as soon as you finish it!
Well, as a long-time player of the Pokemon series from gen 1 of the Gameboy Color to gen 8 of the Switch,
Certainly, it didn't come out as everyone expected.
It has its good and bad points.
Graphics
Let's start with the most well-known aspect that almost everyone looks at nowadays, it's not good. For a game on the Switch, I expected something better. They could have done a better job for sure. Essentially, they took the designs of the Pokemon from Sun and Moon and put them there hastily. The trees look very bad, as well as the ground. It's definitely one of the downsides of the game when you're playing on a console and expect something better than this.
Gameplay
Menu: quite easy and simple, easy menu.
Story: you don't have one rival but three, which makes it more interesting with nice battles. However, the only annoying thing is your main rival who talks too much, and at some point, because you encounter him several times, it becomes tiresome and annoying. The legendaries are interesting, especially Eternatus, which was the Pokemon that introduced the whole Dynamax concept to the Galar region.
Wild area: the wild area is quite beautiful to explore, and you can catch 90% of the Pokemon there depending on the weather. You can spend endless hours there without realizing it, and you can catch Pokemon that already know egg moves. If you find a Pokemon shining with an aura around it, catch it.
Cities: all the places with gyms and everything you pass through are very beautiful, and it takes quite a bit of searching because everything has different items.
Battles: very nice. As a VGC player, I play more Doubles, which are faster and require better setup. As for Singles, they are slower than Doubles due to stall Pokemon. As for the atmosphere, it's awesome. You can choose the theme you want to listen to while playing, and in some battles, you can hear the voices of the crowd cheering when you Dynamax. It's quite nice!
Trades: classic, but it seems a bit faster, although sometimes the wait to start the trade when selecting the Pokemon takes a little longer. It also has the surprise trade, basically a wonder trade where you choose a Pokemon you want to send, and the system finds someone who wants to do the same, and the trade happens. Very useful for completing the Pokedex.
Breed: you reach the first nursery very quickly after the first badge, and you can start immediately. It's much faster, and with a charm and a Flame Body Pokemon, it only takes a few seconds.
Max raids: the coolest element in the game. In the wild area, you find the so-called dens, which depending on the color of the beam, red being common and purple being rare, some Pokemon have more shields than others and are quite difficult to defeat at first. You can either join with online players, but you need to have friends on your Switch who are playing, otherwise, you won't find people. Another option is to go offline and only play with bots, which will be much more challenging.
Dynamax/Gigantamax: it's really cool to see them become huge and powerful. The difference is that Gigantamax changes the appearance of the Pokemon and becomes even stronger, with different effects moves.
Comms: The comms are when you want to connect online to find other players, it has many issues, sometimes it doesn't show your friend's raid if you have planned to play together and you need to log off the comms and log back in, and overall it is quite slow. I consider it the biggest problem in the game, especially for those who play online.
Sound: The sound quality is quite good with nice music and clear audio.
Overall, it is very good but fast compared to other games and much easier. For those who have played the old games, just know that it is very easy to finish the league, etc. For me, the game needed another year of work, but it doesn't mean it's bad, on the contrary, it is very good, it just could have been much better.
Know that if you get any version of the game, you can find exclusive Pokémon through trades with friends or online through surprise trades. Or you can search on Reddit for codes that give you exclusives from the other version.
And now they announced the DLC for €30, which is good because you don't need to buy another newer version like Ultra Sun to play the whole game again with small changes. They will add 2 new wild areas and dens for raids, as well as legendary Pokémon raids!
Like all main Pokemon titles, it has awesome gameplay/strategy without being able to take advantage of it in single mode and nice music plus some minor improvements like the appearance of Pokemon in the open space! The graphics are simply good but from a previous generation, the story and characters are indifferent without metagame on it.
P.S: I believe that removing Pokemon would have had less negative tone if the game wasn't so shallow and deviated from the Pokemon standards. It seems to be quite low-budget and that doesn't honor the 90+ billion company! Overall, it is likely rushed due to time pressure from the marketing side! An easy game for people of all ages with minimal respect for hardcore fans and with the criterion of its price simply disappointing! There are much superior RPGs that respect their genre and the consumer's money!
The game is by no means a waste, but it's not the title I expected to see after all the hype that has been created for it!
If you're not a Pokémon fan and want to try it, just wait for the price to drop or buy it used!
Poor story, poor plot, the design of the new Pokémon is for the understanding and taste of 15-year-olds, they didn't even think to include any cool Pokémon!
After catching 100 Pokémon, you lose track of which ones you have and don't have, you have to constantly go through the process to figure out if you have it or not, especially when you have collected 200 or 300 Pokémon!
Now they announced a €30 DLC, a big exploitation!
In summary, it's a decent game only for Pokémon fans!
The game, like other Pokémon games, starts with becoming a champion and battling in gyms that this time give a challenge before the match against the gym leader in an open stadium. The downside is that if you don't have a Nintendo online membership, you can't trade Pokémon with others via the internet, so you are alone with your own Pokémon that you find in the world of Galar.
Good, you play for over 50 hours and together with the Wild Area where you can find all kinds of Pokémon, stronger and weaker than you, it adds difficulty to the game.
I have played for 50+ hours and I have to say...
It is very nice and entertaining, but Hop (your character's rival) is the most annoying character ever, acting like a silly-happy all the time.
I really like the Dynamax Battles.
The Multi-Player is good but sometimes glitchy.
Also, the Raids are good and fun. One tip: In raids, the Host catches the Dynamax Pokemon with the most useless Poké Ball xD
The price for €60 is too much, but it's a nice little game despite being short.
I have played for about 12 hours, so I can give a first review.
Let's start with the POSITIVES:
1) Visually, it is by far the most beautiful game in the series to date.
2) They have simplified some things that used to be either not possible or simply tedious (e.g. you can now change the nature of your Pokémon).
3) The Wild Area is an amazing concept that, with a little attention and development of the online and free roam aspects, could become a highlight of the series!
4) Some really nice new Pokémon (plus Galar versions of old ones).
5) Gym Leaders return and gain a little more substance with the gym missions that precede them.
6) Character customization with plenty of stylistic options.
Now let's look at the NEGATIVES:
1) Visually, it may be the most beautiful game to date, but it doesn't fully utilize the Switch, as there are some rough edges here and there (trees, ground, etc.). The towns also need a little more life, as they are beautiful but somewhat empty. And finally, it's 2019, let us rotate the camera with the right joystick...
2) The GTS is sorely missed, and I don't understand why... What could be more convenient than saying "I'm looking for this" and someone else doing the trade if they're interested?
3) The infamous Dexit. Personally, it doesn't bother me at all because after years, I might try to complete the Pokédex again, but it is important to many.
4) The online aspect needs some work, especially in the wild area, where the FPS drops quite a bit at times.
5) Dynamaxing is fun, but it's not anything extraordinary except maybe for the max raids.
6) Simplistic story as usual.
Overall, it is a good first step for the Switch, and the milestone is definitely positive. On the other hand, they played it quite safe, as the console could definitely handle something more, and I think with the profits that this franchise brings, they could give a little more care. It is still worth it as a game, and anyone who is a fan of the series will likely enjoy it.
The best Pokémon game I have played so far and I have played them all. Truly incredible graphics and nice animation. The wild area is perfect for exploration and the encounters with powerful Pokémon keep you entertained. The initial evolutions of the three starter Pokémon could have been a bit better. While initially they are all great, the final evolution of Grookey and the other two didn't impress me. And the DYNAMAX battles, while they seemed a bit odd in the trailer, are much better when actually playing. I wonder why so many people complained about the missing Pokédex. It's okay, we got tired of the old ones, we want new ones. If you want the old ones, play Pokémon Pikachu and Eevee. Also, everyone says they were expecting something more exciting, I don't know what they were expecting, but this game is the best Pokémon game so far. I highly recommend it.
You have released too many Pokemon Nintendo, you are a very big company that deals only with producing consoles and games. Once, you didn't think of this amazing series called Pokemon to have a company or even yourself create it like a Zelda Breath of the Wild. And come on, me and every gamer will buy your game to play it and enjoy it a bit, but also for the money you will make because if you do something like that, it won't just be epic, you will also break the last cash register you have in your possession!!! For me, it's just another Pokemon, good and nice to pass the time, but I didn't go WOW or get excited!!! I am still waiting and will continue to wait for what I said...
Classic pokemon game but not on a handheld console (at least not only). After the first city, a wild area comes that every pokemon fan will enjoy, unfortunately I haven't encountered another one like it yet.
The positives:
-Large screen
-Pokemon that haven't been leaked before, so they were new to me (and I don't intentionally search to see what's there to keep it new)
-Good graphics
-Some nice music at different stages
-The gigamax doesn't look bad so far
The negatives:
-The story so far doesn't differ anywhere
-And the biggest negative for me, as my first pokemon game was when I was 5 and it was pokemon red, it's RIDICULOUSLY EASY. Something we've been seeing in pokemon for years now and it has lost a lot of its magic because you don't need to try to level up your pokemon to cope.
P.S.: I read somewhere that if you leave the autosave there is a bug that might delete all the saves of all the games, I don't know why but as soon as I opened it I deleted the autosave because pokemon and autosave don't go together.
P.P.S.: The game ended after years of keeping me. I want to complete the pokedex, something I haven't done since the 4th generation and before that the 1st and 2nd. The story tried to be different with Dynamax but it's mostly the classic pokemon story with a little twist.
I would give it 5 stars but I believe it's the game that should have come out in the 7th generation and in the 8th I would have reached Breath of the Wild levels
