In 1958, Robert Monroe, an ordinary man and successful media entrepreneur, unexpectedly and involuntarily began to experience a whole series of out-of-body journeys. Gradually overcoming the fear of death that always accompanies such experiences, he managed not only to control the entire process of "detachment" from his physical body but also to explore and map the entire area of the invisible that lies above and beyond our known five senses. Having confirmed that human consciousness survives after physical death and having come into contact with many non-material entities, Monroe dedicated the rest of his life to awakening his fellow humans. Discovering that certain auditory stimuli synchronize the two hemispheres of our brain, causing specific changes in consciousness, he founded the famous Monroe Institute of Research in 1971, through whose advanced technology anyone can experience the fact that we are much more than our physical body.
