I started with the manduka pro lite and decided to switch to the pro because I have knee issues, so I wanted something more sturdy. The mat is AMAZING. It is heavy, so it doesn't move from its position, extremely high quality, and absorbs shocks on knees and wrists. It also helps a lot with balance due to the cushioning, which is compressed but doesn't lose its shape when pressed. Does it slip? Yes. The mat is made with closed cells, which makes it very good from a hygiene perspective, but it's logical for it to slip if you sweat. If you want such a mat, be prepared that you will need a towel if you sweat, even after the period when you need to improve the mat according to the manufacturer's instructions (rubbing with salt). Since I didn't have space to do this with salt, I read somewhere a tip to use a degreaser because what makes it VERY prone to slipping is a greasy layer from the manufacturing process in the factory. I rubbed the prolite very well with a kitchen tissue for grease and then rinsed it lightly and dried it, and since then it's absolutely perfect. That's what I plan to do with this one too. If you're not ready for this type of mat, don't get it - you'll just complain. I love it ️
