It was given for free by ps plus and I said I'll give it a try.
Nice little game in the Star Wars universe but that's about it for me.
I didn't get bored of it but it didn't make me want to play more... and more...
A mix of Uncharted/Tomb Raider with a bit of Souls and Lightsabers.... However, poorly connected between them....
I don't know exactly what they wanted to achieve....
The combat system is mediocre and often clumsy for me....
Just when it was about to become enjoyable, it would cut off....
The graphics on PS4 are fine and its story keeps you engaged, however, it crashed on me more than 10 times and froze just as many times, forcing me to quit the game and start again.
Also, ridiculously long loading times when you died or when starting the game.
Lastly, the map is terrible! It provided little help and sometimes you would get lost and not know where to go, going in circles.
Overall, the game had many possibilities and due to the Star Wars universe, but there is something holding it back in all areas except for the sound, which is excellent.
If you're a Star Wars fan, it's a must-play game. For others, it might be a game to pass the time pleasantly, but that's about it. For 15-20€ it's okay. However, it didn't convince me and didn't spark my interest to see its sequel, Survivor. I think that says enough about the game.
Medium game until at least halfway through because then it gives gas and becomes very good but for fans of the Star Wars universe it is a must-have! It has a nice story, it has elements from many games like Uncharted, Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia, and a little bit of Dark Souls, not in combat but in style with the respawns. Put it on easy so you don't struggle in battle because it's frustrating. Let's move on to the negatives that annoyed me... the map doesn't help much, the puzzles are unacceptably difficult, the level design is tiring as you often wander around in the same areas and constantly have respawns. Also, the graphics are unfortunately mediocre on the PS4, but the sound is Star Wars, recommended with headphones!
mediocre game, mediocre to bad graphics, good gameplay, and finally the story is ridiculous.. it seems rushed for some reason as if they didn't have anything to write or as if they got bored and just finished it.
The other person says that it's rubbish and that Battlefront 2 is better. Strange way to tell us that you have more chromosomes. The game is amazing, especially for its price. Ultimate Star Wars experience. We can't wait for the sequel.
Just downloaded it and thought it would be something like Battlefront, which I've played a lot. But in the end, it was rubbish. It took me half an hour at the beginning just to fix the sound, which for some reason had more music than dialogue. The graphics are terrible for a game in 2019, the textures simply don't exist, the faces are mediocre, the animations are garbage, and overall I didn't expect such quality in this area. As for the story, I don't know, I've played for 3 hours and it's still uninteresting. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you want a real Star Wars experience with great graphics, nice gameplay, and a story, go straight to Battlefront 2.
Excellent game with very nice graphics, sound, and story. Great battles and explorations on beautifully crafted planets. It is essential to consult the map, which, once you learn how to navigate and uncover its secrets, elevates the game. It is truly worth it
I liked it quite a bit - definitely not the best game I've played, but it's worth someone's time to get into.
+ graphics
+ controls
+ sound
+ story-dialogues
- many times you get confused about where to go.. it's worth it as a single player, but it doesn't give you an indication of where to go
- big flaw that I couldn't play it in 4K resolution at 60Hz (it only allowed 30Hz).
- durability over time
other than that, it's a game that you enjoy. Especially if you're a Star Wars fan
The only thing I didn't like and it drove me crazy was the checkpoint. Many times it took you quite far back and it was a struggle to defeat the enemies from the beginning. Also, the map was strange. Apart from the above, the rest left me quite satisfied with the game. It was a good game.
Bought it for 15€ used. Great deal for a game of this level. Even though I'm not a big fan of Star Wars, I have to give credit to this particular title. Amazing graphics, enjoyable gameplay, and a storyline worthy of the movies. It actually got me interested in watching all the films... I did have some issues with frame drops and a couple of crashes, hence the 4 stars, but nothing too concerning. If it weren't for those, I would have given it 5 stars without a doubt. Fans, come forward, and those who are just looking for a decent game to have a good time, too.
I bought it on offer, the Deluxe edition in digital format for 25 euros. I'm a fan of the Star Wars series in anything related, movies, comics, games, etc. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations on all levels. The protagonist is a caricature, the story is funny, but the worst part is the gameplay. If I wanted to play something where I climb and move joysticks and solve puzzles, I would play the original Tomb Raider or even Uncharted.
Also, the gameplay is incredibly childish and simplistic. It might be worth it on sale, but at the normal price, I don't think it...
I start with the following: Every hardcore Star Wars fan must play it, if they can, since it is Canon. The period it takes place is between Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One (roughly).
With the exception of some frame drops and some bad renders that may be due to the fact that I played it on the classic PS4, the graphics were amazing. They closely resemble the graphics of the new Star Wars movies and series. In fact, the game itself is quite cinematic on its own.
As mentioned in other reviews, the gameplay reminds me of Uncharted in terms of traversal-exploration and Dark Souls in terms of combat. I recommend watching a small playthrough on YouTube to get an idea with your own eyes.
In terms of duration, it's not something long, and I believe that the price it currently stands at (~20€) justifies it and more with the hours it provides. It has a lot of insight into Star Wars Lore, which I can't expand on due to spoiler reasons.
As for the plot: The game starts with the protagonist Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan, who survived Order 66 and has been on the run since then.
In the (+) category is the unprecedented behavior of EA to provide free DLC (even if it's cosmetic) instead of charging for various microtransactions (which are non-existent in the game).
I am very satisfied with the game and will definitely strive for the Platinum.
No one defines its genre, so I will do it myself. Here we have a mix of mainly platform, action, and a little bit of RPG. It's not considered open world, as it has more linear maps on levels, hence the platform definition. The graphics/sound are pretty good (but not perfect), and the controls are fine and easy to get used to. There are some minor bugs and frame drops, but they are not annoying to that extent. Overall, it's a worthwhile game, enjoyable especially for Star Wars fans, it's a must-have. Some may write that it's repetitive. Let them write here which game is not repetitive and everything they do, they do it for the first time... Have fun, in general, the game is quite good... it has lightsabers!!!!
* Friendly advice: always check games on YouTube, we can't all have the same opinion
The Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is a very good game and I would tell you to get it too. Of course, if you are a fan of Star Wars like me, it should be a game that you should get before even reading the comments. I'm not saying you will like it, maybe yes, maybe no, but I gave you my opinion.
The strongest elements of the title are its amazing storyline and how it is portrayed, by the characters and the voice over (especially after the disappointing Disney movies) and its incredible graphics (played on a 65-inch OLED CX with a PS4 Pro). The sound is also very good, as it is in any other Star Wars title. As weaknesses, I mention the boring parts at certain points and the unnecessary backtracking, which was made worse due to poor map editing, as well as several poorly repetitive movements that strongly reminded me of Prince of Persia. In short, it is a commendable and entertaining title for fans and non-fans alike. I highly recommend it, especially when it is on sale for €20-€25.
Guys, this game is really not worth it at all. I have always been and will always be a Star Wars fan, but this game really disappointed me. It is a game where you start playing directly from the story, which doesn't interest many people. Finally, this game asks you to do a lot of complicated things.
Excellent!! I have never seen any of the movies in my life.. I bought it because it seemed good as a game... I was completely justified!! A mix of Uncharted and Dark Souls... beautiful and extremely fun to play... it really deserves it!!
The definition of mediocrity. Indifferent wood, indifferent enemies and repetitive, POOR phase collectibles. In order to get them, you have to unlock paths, open doors, even reaching a checkpoint, you have to go back even to the first levels near the end of the game just to collect them, without any help or indication of where they might be. The collectibles, in the meantime, are just skins for the lightsaber (which you don't even see in essence while playing, only when you display the lightsaber during editing), and various information about the planets you visit. So you just go back and forth constantly throughout the map, in case you missed a small path that was unlocked with your new power. For about 15 euros, it's good, but that's about it.
When the game is better than the last 3 movies, then you understand that EA did an amazing job here.. the graphics are fantastic.. the sound is incredible.. the story is unbelievable...
In my opinion, it is an excellent game. First of all, I have to say that it places great emphasis on exploration. It does not have a minimap constantly on the screen telling you where to go and what to do; it leaves you free to explore. Although it is not an open world game, it has several maps with many paths to follow. The gameplay is challenging, but it gives you motivation to continue. Those who compare it to Dark Souls are not far off, but the difficulty level here is much lower. The dialogues and cutscenes are fantastic, and anyone familiar with the Star Wars universe will find many interesting things to see and hear, and I emphasize that. The battles are enjoyable, especially with larger enemies that play the role of boss fights, so to speak. There are many things to discover and do, and someone who wants to achieve platinum will need to put in several hours of gameplay. On the negative side, there are many frame rate drops, especially on the original PS4, to the point where you will often see the image freeze while a new area loads. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good singleplayer experience with an emphasis on exploration
Hello everyone. I have never played Star Wars games before, so I don't have an opinion on the previous games. I fell in love with this particular game for 10 days, the time it took me to finish it. It has an awesome campaign with very nice alternations and different battlefields on each planet presented to you as a mission. Its story excited me quite a bit and I really liked its music. I recommend you to play it, you will enjoy your time. I don't have an opinion on the multiplayer. Thank you
A game that tries to find its identity in the category of AAA games, but in vain. While playing it, all you will say is "I've seen this before, this is a copy from there, etc." A mix of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Tomb Raider, Uncharted, etc.
There is a small nostalgia when you are inside the Mantis, reminiscent of the Normandy from Mass Effect. The shortcuts are very reminiscent of Tomb Raider and Bloodborne, as well as the fact that if you lose earned XP, they wait for you where you lost them, as it happens in Bloodborne, etc. Fortunately, until you reach that point, if you lose or fall somewhere in between, they still wait for you. The puzzles are similar to those in Tomb Raider and Uncharted, as well as the walls and climbing, which remind a lot of Lara Croft and the axe. The combat system is not tragic, but its dodge is the worst, there are moments when it sends you much further than where you would like to escape. Its map does not fully orient you, you could call it chaotic or difficult to read. As for the respawn, it is also taken from Bloodborne. With Patch 1.09, they added ng+, but also Combat Challenges, clearly taken from games like Days Gone, etc. Having borrowed and copied so many things from so many games, the only thing that makes it Star Wars is the Lightsaber, the abilities in the Force, and the iconic Star Wars music.
A video that shows how much copying has been done from Dark Souls, Bloodborne, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzBIOCOvlgM
Update 11-4-20: This is not ng+ (new journey +), the only thing it carries over is skins, it does not carry over the skills and they are locked as if someone was playing from the beginning, meaning farming again to earn XP and when you reach specific points, the skills unlock, and if you have XP then you can acquire them, it's a disappointment. 2 out of 3 stars, and that's being generous.
Combination of multiple games. Souls and Uncharted elements. It is definitely not as difficult as the Souls games, but if you put it on the highest difficulty, it is worth the challenge. There is no chance that someone who loves the Star Wars world will not enjoy the game. Unfortunately, I will mention two or three negatives that I found. I have it on the PS4 Pro and the loading screens are long for me. It was in my purchase plan to get an SSD and the game made the purchase faster. I definitely gained a few seconds, but it is still very heavy. Some of the platform elements are buggy and ruin the feeling, maybe with later updates it will improve. Also, up until now, which is around 70% of the game progress, it has crashed 4 times and kicked me out, losing my progress. But as I mentioned, I'm counting on a game update later. We see these things in many games, it's good not to have them, in my opinion always, my friends.
