  It has a good bokeh effect due to the aperture size, what bothered me is that it takes "quite a while" to focus while at the same time it makes "noise" (always compared to other lenses of the kind). In general, it takes good photos but I believe the lens itself lacks in quality.

  One of the best lenses at a very good value for money price. For anyone who really wants to practice with a prime lens and without zoom in order to understand how a lens works, it is a "must". I regret not buying it much earlier since the d3500 I own came with the kit that had the 18-55mm F3.5-5.6G lens which gives you many possibilities but especially in night shots I was missing a lot.

  Perhaps the best DX prime lens from Nikon! I had it on a D3500 and took several photos, it helps that it has a wide aperture (1.8g) for night shots, it is small and lightweight. I really regret selling it.

  Excellent lens with incredible sharpness and detail! I attached it to my 7200 and the result was amazing. It's a great gift from Nikon at this price. The autofocus makes a little noise when the lens doesn't focus well, but it's not bothersome. The build quality is decent. It's worth every penny they ask for. However, it's difficult to take the lens off the camera. It really shines.

  Very good lens for its price. Perfect for amateur use. Incredible bokeh, very good sharpness and vibrant colors. I also used it for astrophotography because of its large aperture. Better results than variable lenses. Plus, it is very lightweight, small, and highly portable. The only negative is that I would like a better feel on the zoom ring.   I have had it for a year now. Very "bright"/fast lens, ideal if you photograph moving targets (e.g. children). It has replaced my Nikon kit lens (18-55) as the standard lens. In everyday use, the zoom has not disappointed me, but I also have a zoom lens in my carrying bag for any case (practically, I have used it very few times). Its weight/size is also an advantage as it doesn't tire you. Also, due to its small size, it doesn't "intrude", I mean sometimes you take out the camera to take a photo of someone who feels a little uncomfortable with the big lens in front of them. This is not a problem with lenses like this.

  I got it as a second lens, at 136, in a deal that was available. Excellent for portraits, very easy bokeh, good sharpness, clearly better in this aspect than other variable lenses of similar price range. I haven't had the chance to try it for street photography yet, although I think it will perform well in terms of color and detail. I find the fixed focal length a bit strange (I also have an 18-105), but at least for the two aforementioned categories, I think it is the best choice considering the price and usage. I will come back to note that I am an amateur photographer.

  Upd1 I think it is the most value for money lens for a beginner. There are times when I almost never take it off my camera in most situations. I am not an expert, but it has very good sharpness and "teaches" you to photograph more accurately, as the lack of zoom makes you walk closer to your subject, but mainly helps you start framing in this way instead of zooming in and losing aperture and stability. I have taken almost everything with it, in the city, in buildings at close distances, in the forest-nature, portraits. For me, it is almost all around and for a beginner amateur, it is the best option to take a step forward in photography.

  Go buy the lens.. it's that simple .... there's nothing better for the money .. especially if you're amateurs and just starting out, get it with your eyes closed ... unless you're a professional who makes money from it or just someone rich who doesn't care, it's better to spend less money on the body and start getting good lenses, even on the most economical camera like the Nikon D3500. When you learn your camera and your lens well, you'll do wonders even with these .. even if it's prime (no zoom) ... use your feet .... the lens is very bright, 1.8f with beautiful bokeh ... and at 4f it becomes crystal clear! 10/10

  The lens simply doesn't exist!! As a long-time user of the lens kit, I decided to transition to the prime 35mm mainly for its low aperture, as I take photos and videos at night. Very sharp lens even at f1.8.. Its bokeh is very good as well, although with the 50mm lens the blurring is more intense, but the 50mm limits you to closed spaces, etc. On a dx camera, the 35mm is the best choice!!!   Gentlemen, whoever has a crop mount Nikon must buy this lens, incredibly sharp even at 1.8, it is the most cinematic. In my opinion, anyone with a budget up to €300 should not think about it, just take it. Also, don't worry about the mm, it is capable of perfect use in landscape, food photography, portrait, and if you go through the editing process with a preset or luts in Lightroom or Photoshop, the result will leave you speechless.

  It is worth every euro you will spend on this lens because its price is really low for what it offers. It makes a big difference compared to the kit lens, even in outdoor areas where the lighting is satisfactory.

  Its positives:
  - Large aperture (1:1.8), which makes it ideal in situations where there is insufficient lighting.
  - With its 35mm, you have a lens that can be used for many purposes such as portraits, street photography, night shots, etc. (not landscapes as it is "tight" for those).
  - It is "fast" in the sense that with a large aperture, we can use higher shutter speeds.
  - Its bokeh is nice and something you don't find in the kit lens, at least not to this extent.
  - Its sharpness is more than satisfactory considering its cost, even at wide apertures.
  - It is very lightweight and small in size, which makes it very convenient and comfortable, especially when combined with the 35mm, you will always have it on your camera.

  Its negatives:
  - It has a cheap construction, but it is justified considering its price and the reason it doesn't cost double or more is because it is "made in China."
  - The autofocus is a bit noisy, although personally it doesn't bother me.
  - The focus ring does not have a specific stop (or at least I can't find it), which can be confusing in situations where you want to manually focus, especially in the dark.

  In conclusion, I would highly recommend this lens, especially to amateurs, as it is ideal for entering the world of photography and evolving as a photographer, as it provides capabilities that the kit 18-55 lens does not have in any case.
