I bought it out of necessity that arose in a job where there was no reason to bring such tools, there was a hurry, there was nothing from nearby stores except for one shop.
They only had this one. I bought it, along with some RJ45 connectors from Central again, and left, making my cross.
Back at the workplace, I went to crimp a plug... disappointment, every time it caused a problem, either scratches or it didn't crimp the plug well at all.

Not even good for trash.

I suggest staying AWAY from this press... okay, it's a cheap press and we shouldn't expect much. There are many similar ones out there that do the job correctly!

I bought this one even though I already had a good one, as a spare for an extra toolbox. The first time I tried to terminate an RJ45 for a network (I've been dealing with networks since 1993 and I know my stuff! I'm saying this so that some people don't say it happened due to incompetence! Unfortunately, it happens..) the connector had extra cross-cutting on the contacts!! You could see it immediately as soon as you looked at it in the light. So, the press scratched the 8 contacts, leaving a horizontal line on each of them!!

I was surprised when I saw it, of course, but I said let's give it a try. It was terrible, one worked, one didn't, or not at all! I was furious because at that moment I didn't have my regular press with me to do the job, I had to borrow one from a colleague in the end, ridiculous! I tried another connector, same results or worse. I tried 3-4 more connectors on different days, all the same terrible results. I tried it with my old good one, PERFECT, the connector came out with the contacts untouched and properly terminated, with excellent connection results. I returned it to the store. It has a 2-year warranty and they gave me another one. Unbelievable, but with the second one, THE SAME PROBLEMS occurred!!

Now, 2 identical presses given by the same reputable store at different times and I encounter the same problem... it's too much! I returned it, got a refund, and bought something unrelated, that's it. I'm sticking with my old one that works perfectly. If I want a second one again, I'll go somewhere else and I recommend you do the same, unfortunately.

It's a shame because it's from a reputable company (CENTRAL) with a long tradition in networking and it tarnishes their name. Please change it with something better, dear Central... even if it costs 20 more, if it's good, we will buy it, this one is unacceptable! 0 stars!!!!!
