The Continental all season is a tire with a winter design profile and in my opinion, it has the following characteristics: Excellent road behavior on snow and on the road with thickness, safety on wet pavement, smooth passage through standing water. It falls far behind in braking distance and braking feel on dry pavement, compared to the Michelin Crossclimate [summer-oriented design] and the purely summer Michelin Pilot 4, which has the shortest braking distance on dry pavement and the driest and immediate braking feel. Therefore, the 4 season Continental tire is one that you will fall in love with during the winter season, but you will have to accept some sacrifices on dry pavement and especially during the summer months, where you have to drive much more cautiously and calmly compared to if you were "wearing" the Michelin Crossclimate or even better, the top-notch Michelin Pilot 4 on dry pavement.

I do not have much experience with tires. I had previously installed non-branded and cheaper ones. From the moment I installed these specific ones, I noticed the difference. You get what you pay for. I did not try them on snow, but on wet roads they perform as they should. Personally, I would install them again. In my opinion, give an extra 50€ to get a branded one.

I am a former user of Michelin Energy Saver+ tires, which were excellent for fast driving, especially on dry roads. With the Continental tires, this feeling is even more intense due to their different composition (all weather) and better steering response.

The five stars are only for driving on wet roads, as it feels like driving on high-quality asphalt. I will update the review frequently, especially regarding driving on snow, which I believe will interest many people.

Additionally, be careful with tire pressure. The tire dealers usually recommend 28-30 psi everywhere, but in narrow dimensions, you usually need more pressure. My tires require 35 psi with three people in the car (the driver's door label indicates the pressures according to the load and speed). Aim for at least 32 psi, and follow the manufacturer's recommendation. A tire with low pressure simply does not brake properly, consumes more fuel, and wears out faster.

    Safe travels.

Update 20/12/2018: Wet road trip to the shelter in Steni Evia. The car remained stable even in areas with pooled water. I also drove on frozen snow uphill, where the outer wheel had contact without any differential effect. The initial impressions are excellent.

Update 3/1/2018: No issues with the tires on snowy roads in Steni Evia, even on steep slopes. The tires had good traction on fresh, untouched snow (traction would be even better on packed snow).

These tires are fantastic; the only thing left to evaluate is their durability over time.

    Update 15/4/2019:

In the beginning of the review, I mentioned that I gave five stars only for driving in the rain. The tires are amazing, and the weather conditions have helped with the evaluation. I have also driven on snow, where people looked twice at their car's wheels in surprise. Today, I performed some heavy braking in the rain, and the ABS engaged at around 80 km/h. The stopping distance was exceptionally short, and the ABS worked for a longer period and more accurately.

I also want to clarify the tire's tread and composition because the summer season is approaching. After some drives in nice weather, if we compare it to the Michelin tires, which have a very progressive limit and I would rate them 10 out of 10 for dry grip, the Continental tires give you an 8 out of 10 when you reach the Michelin's limit. This indicates that they are not designed for this purpose. They have good grip, but the tread and soft rubber do not assist as much. The good thing is that the feedback is transferred to the steering, telling you how far you can push it. (It doesn't squeal, but it informs you.)

The review will continue, of course, during the summer. However, for those who want an all-weather tire with a more summer-oriented focus, go for the Michelin CrossClimate, and for a more winter-oriented tire, choose the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons. The Continental tire sits somewhere in the middle. All three are top choices. :-)

    Update 31/12/2019

    1) I hadn't written about it for the summer, so besides the kilometers I drove on hot asphalt, I also threw it several times on the dirt where I moved at fast speeds (the marks are still on the front tires, I mistreated them a little) everything is fine though, as I said, you need to be a bit more focused than with a pure summer tire. (Fast driving on asphalt)

    2) I went up the mountain again with snow without putting chains on (obviously worn out), the car had grip on the snow and I moved comfortably, just like the previous winter.

    3) In the rain, it's simply divine and even if you break the lateral grip, you still have control (Borderline driving)

The tires are recommended at 1000%, always have chains with you in the snow (because you never know), also no tire has grip on ice (Great caution!!!!!!!!)

Winter rating 100%%%%% summer 85% (Fast to borderline driving)
    >> 100%%%%% >> 95% (Normal driving)
    >> 100000%% >> 95% (People who generally don't handle difficult situations well) Men/Women

From the summer, I deduct points because the tread doesn't favor it, so there's no reason to push it. Also, it definitely has a longer stopping distance than a pure summer tire.

****** Wherever it rains and snows, the Continental All Season will turn with confidence ******

Wishing you safe kilometers and a happy year with good health !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Update 18/2/2021

In October 2020, the front tires were moved to the back (clearly worn out), where one tire had some damage, uneven wear, bent rims, generally there were changes in many parts :-) I saw a great improvement in the dynamic behavior of the car. The visit to the mountains was an opportunity for another test in the snow. The Conti tires showed character, I moved comfortably everywhere, and the change (front to back) helped due to the deeper tread.

I want to write for SUV users that four-wheel drive requires the appropriate tire for grip (I saw many things these days, sliding on the snow and the descendants of Vatanen...), the side should have the marking (the mountain with the 3 peaks and the snowflake in the middle), otherwise you should put on chains to be legal and safe.

I think the review concludes here, the conclusions are extremely positive, a truly all-season tire with friendly behavior at the limit and beyond. The only negative is braking on dry surfaces, where it requires a longer stopping distance than a classic summer tire.

Thank you to those who voted positively.
