The world's first FreeGlide 3D technology:
Inspired by snowboard design, the patented FreeGlide 3D raised plate guarantees 360° glide. It overcomes every obstacle, such as buttons, pockets, and zippers. It even irons backwards. Since you don't need to constantly adjust the fabric to avoid new creases, it saves time and effort. Ironing has never been easier, faster, and more efficient.
Braun's best gliding soleplate.
Even backwards: The unique EloxalPlus coating offers exceptional glide to speed up the ironing process. With its effective impact on your clothes, you complete ironing faster than ever. 2 times harder than stainless steel.

I bought it on 14/12/2020. Two years have passed, which means that the two-year warranty has expired, and on 4/2/2023, it started emitting smoke from the cable of the base that connects to the iron. I took it to an authorized repair shop, and they told me that it has a short circuit and I have to pay 180.00. I bought it for 212.00. A two-year-old iron with household use, the iron is in very good condition, as the technician told me it is like new. The comments are up to you, but I will not approach BRAUN again.
I have bought this iron twice. The first time after using it for 1.5 years, suddenly while it heats up normally, it stops producing steam. I thought, okay, it broke. Since I was satisfied with how nicely it ironed and how quickly it heated the water, I decided to buy the same one. Suddenly, after 1 year, it experiences exactly the same issue. It suddenly stops producing steam. Out of warranty, of course, I understand that in both irons, after some research, the button you press to release the steam has broken. The same thing happened with both irons. ?♀️
I have it for 2 years and 2 months. It stopped producing steam. It is now out of warranty. Also, the original one I received when I bought it was dead and was replaced by the store. A stirella I had before lasted 10 years.
The positive thing is the steam and the quality of ironing and of course the water tank, it never runs out. Now, after 2 years of use, the valve for salt drainage is leaking and from the noise you think it will explode. I believe it does not belong to the value for money category. It could be at a lower price.
It irons just fine until it burns out after one month without warranty. Their customer service is terrible and the build quality has decreased so much that it's not even worth considering buying a Braun product.
I start with the positives. It heats up quickly, has a large water capacity, and is very lightweight. However, the negative is that after 3 years of use, it burned the circuit board and the cost of replacement is not worth it. I spoke with the company and their opinion is that after the warranty expires, it can break down at any time. Nothing lasts forever..... I will not choose the same company's iron again because for its price, three years of use is too little.
Owner of this iron for 2 and something (fortunately) years.
In terms of steam and ironing quality, very good.
In terms of reliability, probably bad, as it appears from other users here.
It broke a little before its warranty expired and when the cable that carries the steam moves, it stops producing steam.
I also face the issue that another user mentions with cleaning. I follow the procedure exactly, and many times, the light keeps turning on despite having just been cleaned.
If it has these problems within two years, as I read from others, I have no illusions that I will soon have to buy a new device. I consider 250 euros for 2-4 years unacceptable.
I will not choose this company again.
The problem is that the others are not doing any better. Since I have researched the comments a lot since, as I said, I will soon need to buy another one, I am starting to reconsider whether these money are worth it for something that is expected to last about 6-7 years.
The review is made in order to protect future buyers from expensive purchases and well-known companies that do not respect their customers.
After 3-4 years of normal use in a three-member family, an internally cut (not visible) cable in the handle of the device, as shown in the photo, short-circuited and destroyed the iron's circuit board. Repair cost is 150 euros, not worth it!
No respect and interest from the company, which, since it is out of warranty, specifically mentioned that "no tool is for a lifetime and even if you have a Porsche for 3-4 years, you can throw it away." This can happen, always with the company's square thinking, because even in expensive brands, a cable can be cut internally, which you don't see and you are not responsible for, and it can mess everything up!
So, my dear people, be careful about what you buy, how much you buy it for, and from whom.
That's all from us, and here's to good health!
P.S. The iron, because I opened it myself and saw it, was in EXCELLENT condition, especially on the inside, like NEW!
4 months of use and I have to say the following...
I had a Tefal (€230) and in 2 years the plate burned out. Perfect iron, lightweight, ergonomic handle, large, powerful steam! Unfortunately, it burned out and I had to find another one.
I ended up with Braun after reading specifications and comments from other users.
Unfortunately, I didn't pay much attention to those who commented on the poor ergonomics of the handle.
My wrist starts to hurt after 10 minutes of ironing because the handle is "straight," imagine if you have 2 loads of laundry to iron.
And another very annoying thing is the cable of the handle. It is in such an awkward position that, when ironing, it touches the lower part of the wrist and you get burned. ☹️
I don't like this iron at all.
No, there was no way I would have bought it if I knew these things.
And it's expensive and has serious flaws (€250).
*In the first few days, I was hoping it would cause some damage so that I could return it and replace it with any other...
*Honestly, it's not worth it... especially for the money.
Definitely not worth its money (226€). It constantly displays a salt indicator. We clean it and it's the same again. In less than a year, it needed a heating element and a plate replacement. We are left without an iron and waiting for the official service to repair it.
The iron is very good functionally with satisfactory steam. Its disadvantage is that the handle is not ergonomic, it is straight and hurts the wrist when ironing a lot of clothes. Also, the handheld iron it has is small compared to the Tefal one I had.
Regarding this purchase, I did a lot of research because I hate ironing and I wanted something exceptionally good. Let's go through the basic criteria that I had and led me to this purchase.
• Steam quantity and pressure: Both quantities are empirically too large. I almost never use the last (stronger) setting. On paper, based on the technical specifications, it is the most powerful in its category, even compared to much more expensive models from other well-established companies.
• Metal Plate: The 3D Glide is truly incredible and I couldn't imagine an ironing system without it. The ceramic coating also stays clean and glides incredibly easily. It doesn't leave any stains or marks.
• Ergonomics & Ease of Use: It is really lightweight, has a convenient handle, and the buttons are in a good position. The hose is long enough and there is a place to store both the hose and the power cord. The water tank is easy to maintain and use. Finally, I loved the three programs and the iCare feature. I wouldn't need any other customization.
• Build Quality and Design: I consider them interconnected! Minimal color options, minimal design with nice strict lines, with wonderful details on the buttons, the indicator lights, and the materials used in every part. Even the fabric lining on the hose.
The system is quite good and we are very satisfied. It irons easily and is lightweight.
The only drawback is that the iCare setting (medium scale) in my opinion has not been implemented well. In the turbo setting, the iron produces very good steam pressure with a steady flow. In the iCare setting, the pressure is lower, which is expected according to the product instructions, but it is not stable. In practice, after 2-3 seconds, the steam pressure drops and it fluctuates. This probably indicates that the boiler should have had a slightly higher heating power in the iCare setting.
Nevertheless, I must say that the steam produced in the medium setting is sufficient to easily iron typical cotton shirts, sweatshirts, etc. Especially for thick cotton shirts and obviously denim, linen, towels, etc., I would use the turbo setting to achieve perfection.
After 8 months of use, I am completely satisfied. It is very positive that it does not require demineralized water and that it does not require a professional for cleaning. In the sixth month, a cleaning light came on, I did it in 5 minutes, and it continues to work normally. It is also very convenient that you do not need to avoid buttons and gain time and ease of use. The noise when the boiler pulls water is annoying. The steam is fine in regular mode, not more than other irons, with the difference being noticeable when using the turbo.
On the second use, it broke. I took it to the dealership and after a week they told me that it needs a new circuit board. Meanwhile, it will take another week for the spare part to arrive from Italy. No mention of replacement. Unacceptable...
In the end, the store replaced it with a different brand...
After a lot of research, I ended up with this specific ironing system and I haven't regretted it at all! Lightweight and easy to use, it saves you time and effort! Especially when you're a new mom and ironing is now a daily task! I highly recommend it!
With the exception of the poor performance of the dealership (I had to change 3 stores that claimed to have it and after ordering and prepaying for the product, they excessively delayed sending it due to the dealership's lack of response to their order), the iron is amazing! Lightweight, silent, with plenty of water and pressure, it truly makes ironing a breeze even for difficult fabrics. I highly recommend it for its price.
The perfect iron! You save a lot of time ironing. Easy ironing with lots of steam... light to hold... and it has many functions. It is definitely worth the money!
Very good ironing system, heats up water quickly, it is lightweight, irons clothes much faster compared to other expensive irons, in almost half the time, just one press and you're done, worth every penny, don't even think about it, it's even better than other irons that cost 100€ more, I have compared it, I'm not just saying it like that!!
