There is no other 24-70mm lens in any system that is as good as the 500€ it currently has. Anyone with a Z who wants this range should get it with their eyes closed.
Very good lens that you can't just call a kit.. Amazing image quality with nice colors and good sharpness.. Good autofocus, sturdy lens and waterproof.. It's not very heavy, I use it professionally and the results are excellent..
Purchased as a kit with the Z5 for 1299 euros on offer, and that's how my review will be. As a lens that cost +300 euros more than if I had bought just the body or about 550-600 euros as a bulk item in stores (from broken kits). I consider the 1200 euros that it is priced separately to be a ridiculous price for someone to seriously consider.
So, under the normal price perspective (on the market), the lens is excellent. Extremely sharp when wide open, both at the wide and tele end, without any chromatic aberration or softness. It is used professionally and I haven't found any scenario where it didn't work properly or didn't deliver top-quality image. Obviously, I would have liked it to be f/2.8 for more flexibility in low-light situations and more options in depth of field, but considering its price, I haven't held a more high-quality lens in my hands for this amount of money. If you purchase a camera from the Z series, prefer it as a kit with this lens. It's worth it.
Very good for many uses but due to the f4 it is not suitable for night professional photography. Basically, if someone only photographs landscapes, yes, otherwise not even close (fortunately it was acquired as part of a kit and quickly lost 400 euros so it wouldn't stay in the closet. Honestly, Nikon has gone crazy selling such a lens for so much money)
I consider it worth buying as a lens kit. I use it on a Z6 and it is the everyday lens I use in the city.
On the very positive side, the high clarity at all focal lengths, especially between f/5.6 and f/8.0, as well as the fast, silent autofocus.
The lens is weather-sealed, which is important for outings in unusual conditions, and overall the build quality is very good, even exceptional.
I haven't noticed any color fringing in the photos or vignetting that some people mention. I use it without the lens hood.
Relatively lightweight. Excellent balance on the Z6.
Very reliable and therefore recommended.
A very good lens, which should not be considered only as a kit. It is small, relatively lightweight with great performance and sharpness.
I give it 5 stars, rating it as a kit lens. It can't be compared to the 2.8, but it is a very decent lens for its price. You might say it's worth over 1000 euros, but those who are in the know are aware that kit lenses are available in stores and cost around 600 euros. For that price, it's superb. Sharp with nice colors. Plus, it's lightweight and quiet for video. The fixed 4 aperture makes it a respectable kit lens. Personally, I'm a bit bothered by the distortions. If it had a bit more zoom, it would be superb
