This tool is very good for an amateur. With this condition, I give it 5 stars. For heavy use, I cannot know if it holds up. I prune with this 50 olive roots and 30 avocado. For these, it is enough and more than enough!!!!!

I had an Einhell electric pole saw for years. Heavy, with constant oil leaks and the torture of the handle. I pruned 1, 2, 3...5 and got tired of it. I ended up hiring a professional to prune every year to avoid the hassle of Einhell.

I got the Black & Decker GPC1820L20 for "quick jobs" and ended up using it constantly! It cuts like a hooligan, nothing can escape it!

Powerful, very lightweight (fiberglass poles) and without leaks since the lubrication is manual with the bottle it comes with (be careful, it does not contain oil, you will have to buy it!).

I prune 3+ olive trees with one charge! With the extra 4Ah battery, I prune more than 10 at once.

And - for me - the most important thing: I no longer get bored of pruning. No need to find the handle, choose the closest outlet, clean the constantly dripping oil, add oil because it leaked, and constantly take breaks because Einhell was incredibly heavy and unbalanced in the hands!

Now with the Black & Decker, I simply hang it up, put a little oil on the chain, and that's it! I work as long as I want (as long as the batteries last, basically) without fatigue.

The rule that applies to every tool/machine is true: If it is not readily available and easy/enjoyable to use, it's as if you don't have it. And Einhell was like I didn't have it.

Unfortunately, this saw compared to other newer models from other companies does not have automatic chain lubrication, meaning they give you a small bottle that you put oil in and you have to stop cutting every 5-10 minutes to manually lubricate the chain! Also, it does not have easy chain tensioning, which in other models is done with an external lever. In this one, you have to open the lid and reinsert/tension the chain. The reason is that it is an older model and it has these problems that the newer ones do not have. In combination with low battery power (18v is quite small and it gets stuck on many branches, especially on smaller ones that require more power to not catch the chain) and the relatively high price for what it offers, it is not worth buying unless you already have Black Decker batteries. I only bought it because I already had Black Decker batteries.
