For those consumers who write that it doesn't foam, yes, this particular product does not foam because it is NOT a foam cleanser, if it were, it would say so. This is a CLEANSER CREAM, meaning cream, it does not advertise that it is a foam and it is not, so I think that the negative comments regarding whether it is a foam or not can mislead some people. CeraVe also produces foam cleansers. However, for those who prefer foam cleansers, if you do some research, you will find that foam cleansers are not recommended by experts because they have higher alkalinity and are therefore harsher and remove the skin's natural oils, making it dry. This particular product indeed does not dry out the skin at all (and I have quite dry skin), it is very gentle and leaves the skin soft, but in my opinion, it does not remove makeup or sunscreen well. I do double cleansing, but I usually use the cleanser first and then micellar water or natural toner or glycolic acid. The previous cleanser I used in recent years, again a cream cleanser, removed makeup much better, but I wanted to try this one because of the CeraVe name and because it is 1000 ML at a very affordable price. Another serious reason is that it has a pump, which makes the product very convenient to use. It will last me a very long time, so I don't know yet if I will buy it again. I hope I helped.
Although most reviews are positive regarding the hydration it provides, it causes intense dryness and painful stings on my skin that last, even if I apply a rich moisturizer.
I have tried a lot of facial cleansers in my life, as I have gone through acne, and my skin is combination. This is the best cleansing product. With a small amount and a light massage, you immediately feel your skin clean and smooth, ready to accept any routine. With a light fragrance. This is the most VFM product on the market.
Very good for makeup removal, even professional. It hydrates without needing additional moisturizer after use.
I am very satisfied with this particular product for cleansing. I am 53 years old. My daughter, who is 29, also uses it. We both have combination skin. Oily a little on the forehead and nose. It does not dry out the skin. It has a very nice texture. After trying several cleansers, this is the best. It is truly worth it, and its price is very good!
This is the second makeup remover product I have purchased from this company. I was very satisfied in the past and wanted to try this specific one. However, I was completely disappointed. It does not remove makeup, resulting in me using a lot of dual-phase water to clean my face. I never wear heavy makeup, but with this cleanser, I saw no results. After each use, I feel my skin is hydrated, of course, but what’s the point if it doesn’t clean the makeup? Whether I use it or not, I spend the same amount of dual-phase. Fortunately, I got the small package. I give it 2 stars because it doesn’t sting the eyes and provides a feeling of hydration.
It is a moisturizing cleanser that does exactly what it promises. It is not suitable for removing makeup, but you can use a micellar water or some oil and then this.
I have sensitive, combination skin and I absolutely love this product! I always do a double cleansing for makeup removal and this is my first step to remove all the excess, and then I use Bioderma's micellar water for the rest! However, I use it every morning and it leaves my skin very soft to proceed with skincare and makeup! I will buy it again and again!
The best cleansing milk for all skin types and for children, my doctor recommended it to me after surgery. It cleans deeply better than soap or anti-soap
It's not bad, it cleans the skin, but I didn't like the feeling it leaves which is not a feeling of cleanliness, it's like something stays on the skin.
Terrible, I started using it and by the third day I had small pimples all over my face. It doesn't dry out but it doesn't clean either. I wouldn't buy it again under any circumstances. I've been using it for two weeks and I still have small bumps everywhere.
It cleans, it cleans but it doesn't lather at all, which seems strange compared to what we are used to and that's why you might feel forced to use more product. Its texture is like a hair conditioner (it doesn't lather, it's thicker, it doesn't dilute very easily) nevertheless, it leaves a feeling of cleanliness and freshness.
While the description mentions normal skin, the packaging mentions normal and dry skin, if they had written this, I would not have chosen it
The best !!! I have dry skin so cleansers tend to "pull" my skin..this one doesn't pull at all and cleanses the skin deeply. I wouldn't recommend it for makeup removal, but for facial cleansing it is ideal
The unique cleanser that is a staple in caring for and cleaning my skin. No matter what else I try, I always come back to it!
In general, it is an ok product. Generally, cleansers should not leave the skin "squeaky clean" to the point where it pulls the skin because then it becomes oilier even faster if you have oily skin. This cleanser leaves the skin comfortable and hydrated after use. Specifically, since it is targeted towards drier skins, it leaves a "film" on top for hydration which you may not like, in that case you can try the foaming hydrating cleanser from the same company which works great. Also, it has no fragrance and since it is quite gentle, it is suitable for more sensitive skins. However, I, having combination skin, do not feel that it cleans deeply unlike the other one that foams. If you wear makeup and sunscreen, definitely you need another cleanser before for double cleansing.
Having dry skin, it is by far the best cleanser I have ever tried!
Since I started using it (over a year now), I stopped having dry skin, it never caused irritation and actually provides hydration.
I bought it because I have sensitive skin, redness, and occasional eczema on my face!! It is a creamy cleansing milk that rinses off with water. It doesn't foam, leaves the skin very soft and well moisturized. To the point where it doesn't necessarily need hydration afterwards!!!
I use it daily and I can say that it leaves a very nice feeling and the skin looks hydrated afterwards. It has no scent. I don't know if it removes heavy makeup because I hardly wear any.
I didn't like it at all. It is in cream form and I don't think it cleans deeply. Many times I had to wash my face twice to feel the cleansing sensation but in vain. I do not recommend it.
I will start with the positives: it is a very large package and its price is good. A small amount of product is enough and more than enough to clean. It has no scent at all and has a nice texture.
However, as a facial cleanser - which I used it for - it did not suit me. It's not that it caused me any irritation or anything similar, but I didn't feel like it was cleaning my skin. It left a residue that I didn't like, it didn't have the "squeaky clean" result I want. Also, it does NOT remove makeup AT ALL. Of course, I do double cleansing, but assuming something has escaped from the balm, this cleanser will not remove it. I would not buy it again, although I generally trust the company's products, this one personally did not appeal to me.
Extremely mediocre product. It doesn't even remove sunscreen and moisturize as it claims, and it does create small white pimples that disappear the same day or the next, which means it doesn't effectively cleanse. Maybe I prefer it for the body as a gentle shower gel.
Personally, it was recommended to me by a dermatologist since I have rosacea acne. Excellent product, cleanses deeply and I recommend it to those who have imperfections on their skin and sensitive skin!
I had bought it earlier and I liked the feeling of hydration it provides. I have oily combination skin but I like more moisturizing products. It is a cream-like lotion that does not foam, it does a very gentle cleansing but it does not deeply cleanse or even remove sunscreen residue, I don't feel like it cleanses my face. Of course, it does not remove makeup. For a simple morning cleansing, it is great.
I have very sensitive skin, but this particular product irritated me badly and left intense redness on my face that burned. It is practically a cream, it does not foam at all. Perhaps the reason this happened to me is because it contains a high concentration of preservative (phenoxyethanol), as it is the fourth ingredient (!). I do not recommend it for sensitive skin, I prefer the foaming cleanser from the same line a thousand times. For very sensitive combination skin, I also like the effaclar foaming gel from LRP, and the gentle facial cleanser from Vanicream (from iherb).
Absolutely satisfied with this particular product. I will buy it again. It leaves a feeling of cleanliness and elasticity without pulling the skin. If you want to foam the product, put a minimal amount on wet hands, rub, and the product foams. When I say minimal, less than half a pump.
Very good moisturizing cleanser!! As long as I use it, I rarely get pimples. It is not suitable for makeup removal. First, I remove my makeup with micellar water and then use this.
When I first used it, I thought it was broken. I had never used a cleanser with such a texture before. It doesn't foam at all. If you use it to remove your makeup, you will need 2-3 pumps (if you have heavy makeup, two washes).
Having been used to cleansers that produce a lot of foam, this feels extremely strange to me.
It literally feels like washing your face with moisturizing milk.
Excellent for my dry-acne prone skin. I use it as the last step in double cleansing and in the morning to remove my nighttime skincare. It removes all residue without dehydrating the skin. Of course, it is not intended by Cerave itself as a product that will remove heavy makeup. It is a gentle cleansing soap that does not foam. It resembles more of a cream. It is odorless and deeply moisturizes while also removing any residue left by micellar water or any other makeup product
It is an unscented facial cleanser. It doesn't produce much foam, so it doesn't clog pores or strip the skin. However, generally when you want to cleanse your face, you always do a double cleansing, with a balm first and then with a cleanser. No facial cleanser can effectively remove makeup unless you melt the makeup with a balm.
It is a creamy cleanser that does not foam, but despite its external appearance, it cleans well. The skin does not feel tight afterwards and does not dry out. In combination with a moisturizer that suits each person's skin type, it does a good job. One press is enough for cleansing. It has no fragrance, it is odorless. I have not used it for makeup removal, so I do not know how well it works in that regard, but for better or worse, it is a good first step before using micellar water for cleansing. Overall, I would recommend it for people with sensitive skin.
It is a very good product for dry skin. It does what it promises - cleanses and moisturizes at the same time. As for the comments about the foam, what helps is to first work it in your hands, it foams slightly and then apply it to your face. For simple everyday cleansing, it is perfect. For makeup removal, I would recommend something else that breaks down makeup better, such as a cleansing balm.
