Tokyo, 1988. To get rich, all you need is one night. The money is plenty, the women are beautiful, and the action is relentless. Welcome to the world of Yakuza.
The legendary series Ryu ga Gotoku, or as it is commonly known, Yakuza, returns with its seventh episode, which takes place before the rest of the series. The action is once again set in the -fictional- districts of Kamurocho and Sotenbori in Tokyo and Osaka, where a ruthless war rages between the country's organized crime groups for dominance in the underworld. The protagonist is once again Kazuma Kiryu, who, along with Goro Majima, forms the ideal duo for a drama full of action, intrigue, power games, and an atmosphere that perfectly reproduces that of 80s Japan. The fighting is endless, with the player having to choose between many different combat styles to create their own "choreographies" of the most bloodthirsty and "dirty" Yakuza title we have seen to date.

I bought the game digital a few months ago and this is the best Yakuza story out of all the games. Also it has two main characters so the game is fresh with nice graphics and a very captivating atmosphere. Definitely a 9/10 game
Apart from the lengthy dialogues, the game is awesome... Amazing story, fantastic characters!!!
What can one say about this game?
POSITIVES
- Very good graphics, both in the city streets and during dialogues
- Great music, especially the rock songs during battles
- Engaging story that keeps you hooked until the end
- The characters are top-notch, both for the "good" protagonists and the "bad" ones in the game
- Side Missions/Substories are hilarious, with many twists in each one, and each one is different from the others
- Very long duration
- The battle system is pure enjoyment with impressive moves and strikes
NEGATIVES
- Classic Japanese style of excessive dialogue, to the point of discouraging the player from reading the dialogues, getting tired, and not paying attention to the story
- Some repetitive Boss Fights and scenarios, where you have to fight 10-10 bad guys just to reach the Boss
CONCLUSION
An extremely underrated game. I enjoyed it a lot, completed many side missions, and now I'm going for the next Yakuza.
Too many dialogues. I got tired of pressing X. I don't understand why it has such a high rating. Obviously, it's not a bad game and with the current price, it's definitely worth it.
Well, PlayStation hit already says something. Incredible for anyone who wants to get involved with the Yakuza series! If, just to spend your time, it is a wonderful game that has everything. From cabaret clubs with girls that you manage as a manager, to fights with dance moves or swords, weapons and punches with various techniques!
I have them all in the series, but I have only played up to Yakuza 3 so far as I take my time. Yakuza 0 is by far the best and definitely has to do with the fact that we are not talking about a remaster but about the entry of the series on PS4 and the last entry on PS3 where they nailed it. It has a very beautiful and big story and the characters are amazing as usual for the series. The gameplay is exceptional with the 4 different battle styles, but just because it is huge along with the side content, I started to get tired at some points. If someone wants to get into the series, they should start from here. They won't be disappointed
Very good!! I just started playing the series yesterday and I was extremely satisfied. The box arrived intact, even with plastic wrap! I highly recommend it for someone who wants to start the series from somewhere
The Yakuza series is one of the best in the video game industry. The deep story and entertaining gameplay never cease to impress and captivate players, and the same applies to the prequel Yakuza 0. It is first a movie with a thought-provoking and full of surprises story, and then a video game. It is definitely worth it, and personally, I consider it one of the strongest, if not the strongest, Yakuza game ever released. Easily 4.9/5
Awesome cinematic game. I was a fan of the series since the ps2 and I'm very happy that this franchise finally became popular. The story has depth, as well as the side stories that are so interesting that you will inevitably forget which part of the story you were in and what had happened before! I highly recommend it so that the world continues to support such games and they keep coming out!
Quite a nice game with an interesting plot and plenty of beautiful graphics. I liked that you play with 2 characters. The only thing that bothered me is that it has many long dialogues that can be boring. A rating of 9/10
Enjoyable battles and an interesting, badass story that keeps you hooked.
Without having played any other games in the series, I can say that it's worth it, and I can't wait to play the next (numbered) games.
However, it should be noted that if you're not interested in mini-games, it can become tiresome at some point in the game, as some of them are integrated into the main story. But don't be disappointed and don't give up, as they don't last long and thankfully completely stop interfering from the middle of the game onwards. Essentially, they function as advertisements to the player, to give them a taste of what else they can do within the game.
Everyone only writes the good things about the game.
Because I am passionate and knowledgeable, I must warn you that it has A LOT of dialogue.
It's called Talking Simulation.
We're talking about 40-50-60 lines that in the end, you'll get bored of pressing X to proceed.
Besides that, with all this, you lose the cinematic plot.
For example, the villain comes to kill you and he will start talking to you, at least for about 10 minutes.
The world is burning and you have to go somewhere and he keeps talking to you for 20 minutes.
Plus, you'll get bored fighting the same boss
First time I touch a game of the series. The graphics are wonderful, the story is well-written with twists and nice character development. Also, perfect side stories and many mini games. Plus, the Sega classics games are a bonus. The duration is satisfying too. It gave me the motivation to get involved with the whole series.
I remembered after a long time what playing really means.
Incredible gameplay, very nice story, many, many but not boring side missions and mini games. It's the first time that I actually sit down to finish them all myself, as I always put the game on the shelf after completing the main story!
At first, if you haven't played the series before, the story might confuse you a bit, but with patience, attention, and maybe a little googling, you'll be fine
The game is amazing! Great storyline, plenty of action, and smooth gameplay.
The graphics have something special, it's another series that I hadn't noticed and I continued with the kiwami.
I had played a similar game, Akiba Beats, for a while but it didn't impress me. This one has mini games and, combined with the 80's era in which the story unfolds, it brings a sweet nostalgia (if you're a fan of that specific era).
With no doubt, the best I have played on the PS4. I liked everything about this game, but especially its story was worth every penny. For the first time in a video game, I didn't skip cutscenes. However, it is necessary to know English in order to understand the game's story
I can only admit that Yakuza 0 is a beautiful Video Game which is rightfully considered one of the best in the series..... The gameplay is excellent, the graphics are quite good, and the story is wonderful and huge. It is one of those cases where it is worth giving your money and acquiring such a game, because it was a little gem that can keep you busy for a long time...... However, despite its many positive elements, it has two disadvantages, firstly it has noticeably smaller maps than 6, and secondly it fails to emotionally touch you as much as 6, although 0 has its very good moments!
Hidden gem.
Brawler category with RPG elements.
Exceptionally strong storyline.
It is a prequel, which means you don't need to have played the previous ones as the story starts from this one.
Very long duration, around 40 hours, and it can reach double that if you do the side quests.
It has dozens of mini games, from karaoke/dance/singing/old Sega arcade/fishing and many more, to very strange Japanese humorous situations that make you wonder what is happening, what you are doing.
You can bet on female fights where you cheer on the winner, open a strip club where no level is off-limits for the girls!!!! Make phone calls for "fun" and other such things. Madness.
It is a game-experience where in one moment it becomes serious and in the next it's so funny.... guys, the game is pure entertainment.
